I just picked up a 2006 GS300 AWD and wanted to setup my phone to stream Google Play Music through the bluetooth to the head unit... Is this possible? Or am I going to have to hack into the back wires like I did with my ES300 in order to setup an AUX line and connect a bluetooth adapter?
View 7 RepliesI just picked up a used 2006 Prius today and it has bluetooth.... I paid the phone, but I have two questions.
1) is there a way to stream music using this built in bluetooth?
2) The Prius was asking me to SEND my contacts phonebook over to it.... but I don't see an option on my android phone for this...
So I'm trying to stream music via bluetooth using my Android phone with my LS460. My phone is a LG G2.
The past few months when I started it up it's been saying "portable player was not able to connect" or something along the lines of that. I recently had my GPS maps updated to the new 2014 maps so maybe that messed with something. Anways, I tried to go to the audio settings and getting it to connect, but it keeps failing. Telling me to "please check the settings of the audio player" When I try to connect it says that it is connecting to "Huawei-M860" I don't have any Huawei devices, I'm assuming that's the bluetooth audio module? or something along that lines.
By the way the bluetooth works for calls with my phone. I canmake/receive them with no problem. How do I fix this so that I can stream music from my phone via blueooth?
I've had my new 2013 Model 3 for a whole week now and I love everything about it except for one thing: The Bluetooth will connect to my phone (Galaxy S3) and will play music from it, but it ignores the fact that all of the songs are in different folders. It treats all the music as if it is in a single folder and will let me move back and forth alphabetically or randomly, but I can't play a particular album. There should be controls at the bottom of the touch screen but they are grayed out and inaccessible.
View 10 RepliesI currently drive a 2006 BMW 325i, so the tech is not impressive compared to modern cars. I have to plug in the AUX to listen to Google Music, the Bluetooth only works for phone. I'm not familiar with Android Auto and it's not included in the Prius, so I guess that doesn't matter. Can I stream Google Music via the Bluetooth in the 2016? It might be a silly question, but I am a little car ignorant.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius 3 w/NAV...my last two phones (HTC Sensation/HTC One S) have been able to stream music via Bluetooth, though the HTC One S (ICS) seemed to have some connection issues (it would drop if I got a call sometimes, occasionally it wouldn't recognize music and I'd have to reboot phone etc...).. I now have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (tmobile)...I was able to hook up the phone portion, but no audio...it is the "JellyBean" os.
View 9 RepliesI've had so many issues with audio dropping out from phone calls and streaming that I've almost thrown my phone at the NAV screen in frustration.
Background: In the 7 months since I bought my car new (2013 GS F-Sport) I have had 2 Droid Maxx's, 1 Droid Turbo and am currently on a Samsung Note 4. I've gone through hard resets of my phones, deleting the phone from the car, changing apps in use, trying to use the car with after a reset and removing most stock apps. I've also mostly disabled the text message and email options as it doesn't work consistently, and I don't need people in my car to see when I get texts.
Each of the phones has has issues staying connected to the car. About 30 seconds after dropping the car will register the loss of the bluetooth connection. The worst part is I can go hours without a problem, then I'll get 1, or I'll get a problem every 4 minutes until it suddenly stops.
I've called Lexus a three times are had a few different answers. At first they told me to always drive with the wifi disabled and that should fix my problem. Then they said to have the dealership check my firmware. The dealership said my firmware dated 2012 is the most up to date (sounds like a load of BS to me). Most recently, they said there is an error in Android 4.2's kernel that screws up bluetooth. Now all of my phones have been on Android 4.4.x since I bought the car, and Lexus said they aren't aware of any issues with 4.3 or 4.4.
My coworker follows the same phone upgrade path as me (Maxx, Turbo and Note4), and he has never had a dropout issue on his 2014 X5, so the kernel issue doesn't seem to hold water.
Lexus made it sound like this is a WIDE spread problem, but not one they need to fix. Also what firmware version are you running in your 2013 GS?
So I am pretty sure my factory head unit will stream Via Bluetooth from my iPhone or my android, it's pairing with the car for the phone feature.
However it won't let me stream music, there is an Icon on the stereo but it doesn't do anything.
2013 F-250. Sync. No navigation. I am able to pair my Android cell phone to the truck and all works fine. Can send and receive calls using the voice commands etc. I am also able to play music from my bluetooth enabled LG V10 android cell phone. When I start the truck, it automatically detects my cell phone, connects to it and begins playing music from my cell phone through the truck stereo. And therein lies the problem.
My question is, is there a way to tell the truck to go ahead and connect to the cell phone, but don't start playing music. In other words, I don't want the truck to launch the music player on my cell phone. I always have to either turn off the player on my cell phone or give the "pause" command through bluetooth audio.
When I connect a phone to my wife's Prius it pairs easily enough. The problem is, each time i start the car, it finds the phone and decides to tell the phone to start streaming music.

Was able to get my wife's iPhone 4 to stream but can't figure out how we did it. I cleared here phone out and just trying to figure out mine.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius III without Nav. It has bluetooth pairing, and pairs with the Galaxy Nexus phone (android) to make and receive calls just fine. However, there seems to be no way to play music through the phone? (I currently have an audio cable which I plug into my phone. But for various reasons, this is far from an ideal solution for me.)
I have contacted the Toyota dealership where I bought the Prius and they seem to think this does not work. However, can this really be the case?
(1) Is there something I'm missing in order to play music through bluetooth on my phone?
(2) If there isn't, what are my after-market options for doing so? (I don't need navigation or anything else.)
I am a new member and the happy owner of a prius series 3 2009 base model no satnav ...amazing vehicle should have bought one years ago.....i can use the mobile via bluetooth...but can't import my phonebook from the phone...so i manually enter numbers and names....
View 4 RepliesIt's really aggravating that iPhone music is automatically played when I turn the car on. It happens even if the music app isn't open. Less than a month ago the dealership upgraded my car software, but that has made no difference. If I don't shut off bluetooth or disconnect the music, it will automatically play it.
View 19 RepliesI had to replace my 12 volt battery a few weeks ago. I'm also having issues with my samsung galaxy s4. For the last 2 to 3 weeks the phone in the car won't connect and the bluetooth is not working. Is it the car or is it the phone? If I uninstall the phone and reinstall it does connect but there's no guarantee that it will the next time.
View 5 RepliesI have a Prius two 2012, have been using an old iPod for music over USB, and a blackberry over bluetooth handsfree profile. blackberry phones allow you to manage which BT profiles are connected, I disabled the music over BT profile. but now I just got an iPhone 5s to replace both phone and ipod, it automatically pairs with all profiles supported by the car, no disable or selection per profile. I want to play music over USB, not BT, the quality is better.
But the iPhone doesn't support both, if BT music is enabled, then that is where it goes. i have not found a way to disable the BT music. I confirmed with Apple tech support, they say the car side decides what services to pair with the phone, the iPhone just slavishly does what it is told with no user control options. Looking then at option control on the radio side, i have looked at the radio BT setups, there is no option i can find to select which profiles to automatically connect. How to configure the BT settings so the iPhone is registered only for handsfree and not BT music? Pls note that have only the basic display audio...
It had worked fine until yesterday.Now there is very faint sound (cannot hear it at all without turning the volume way up and even then, it is very faint). Bluetooth phone works fine as does radio.
I have deleted and reinstalled the Bluetooth profiles from both the phone and car with no results. Interestingly it works fine with my ipad.
If I'm using Bluetooth to listen to music and my headlights are on when I switch the headlights off to just parking and the daytime running lights the navigation/radio shuts off the music and goes to the off screen. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but then several more times I tried it and every time it turns off.
