So tonight I was parking the car next to the wall in front of my garage like always and an orange error light came on to check BSM system what is that? Although, I turned the car off and on it stayed on I took it for a drive down the street and it went away now every time I turn the car on its not there anymore. Is there a malfunction with the computer or something? Car has less than 5k miles ..
View 10 RepliesSo with all of the snow we've been having in the north east this is usually an error message I get almost every week. Normally this is due to the front sonar sensors being covered in ice or snow and will go away once it melts when I'm parked in the garage or is washed off.
However the past few days, I've had the car washed a few times to make sure the salt is off of the sonar on the front bumper but I'm still getting the error message stating to check the front sonar. If I leave the park assist on it works for the sides but not the front and the error message still stays on the screen. I've hand-washed the sonar sensors several times and 'massaged' them in place to maybe break up some ice behind the bumper or get the sensor to work but I've gotten nothing. Upon further inspection, one of the sensors has a deep scratch in it to where you can see past the paint of the car slightly.
I'm really not looking forward to taking the car to the dealer to have them look at the sensor because they will most likely charge me a ton. I saw a few other posts on the forums about the LS400 from '99-'00 having a similar issue and it cost them $550 to get it fixed. Obviously it's not the same car but I'm expecting a similar quote. I'm assuming the paint scratch is what is causing the issue as another post for the LS mentioned the same thing and said they had to scratch all the paint off of the sensor to make it work again.
I have had my new 450h for almost 7 months and do love this car. I took it in for its 6 month service, although apparently needn't have done so because we only have 1300 miles on it thus far. However, it checked out fine. Today whilst driving home from the local supermarket and we got a warning on the dashboard with the orange triangle saying to check BSM system. I had not done anything and am concerned why this should happen suddenly. I have called and will have to take the car to be checked. What happened?
View 3 RepliesI purchased a Bluetooth ODB II scanner off of Amazon which had all positive reviews, plugged it into my 2013 Prius this AM and the car immediately started beeping with the "Check Hybrid System Stop The Vehicle In A Safe Place" error. The car is functioning just fine but I'm concerned.. Is this normal? Should I have not plugged it in while the engine was on? I want to see if I can clear the error but I'm afraid to plug the module in again...

View 14 RepliesSuddenly got the "check tire pressure system" error (not the tire pressure one) so I tried the only procedure I could find, turning ignition on and holding reset tpms button below steering colum. Got the tpms resetting message but the previous message came back. How can I fix that issue? Never had that before.
View 14 Replies1. I think my battery is getting weak.... when i cranked it, it didnt sound strong and the original battery eye says to add distilled water. I am thinking about getting a replacement battery at Costco.
2. so right after it started, the message of "Check Brake System" shows up. Tried to restart but no go. Drove about 15 miles and all seems fine but message is still there.
* is it OK to replace with a Costco brand battery (they have a great returns policy) and is there anything i need to do before or after replacement?
* could the Check Brake System be due to the weak battery? How can I reset it?
* Anything else that can cause this error message?
I added fog lights, and I removed the fuse box and body computer to do so. I disconnected the 12V battery for most of the work, but later I did pull a couple of under-the -dash connectors with the battery connected.
Now I get the screen saying "check hybrid system", "don't drive". I've tried the turn-the-key-on-three-times technique, and I disconnected the battery for 30 mins. Still the message persists.
Using my Torque app, I can clear the ECU fault and the message disappears. However, when I start the car the next time, the message is back. Everything else seems ok.
I checked all the cabin fuses and most of the engine compartment fuses. I took everything apart again, and double checked the fit of all the connectors under the dash. It seems that I have thrown a code which keeps popping up every time I turn the ignition on.
2014 LS460L "Check headlight system" error popped up. Since the RV mirror failed as well apparently the system is not getting the light sensor signal from the mirror and brings up the HL error. Where is the RV mirror fuse? I took off the fuse cover to the left under the steering column but can't find it. It's not practical to unplug and check all 26 fuses, owner manual is useless...
View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 RX400h. On 3 occasions I've been stranded. The car won't start and I get an error/message Shift to P when Starting. However I am in Park. It's coupled with a Check VSC System warning. Service department says I have just drained the accessory battery, however nothing is being used other than standard equip such as lights, dash etc. I've had all batteries changed in the car over the 4 years I've owned it. Is this usual?

I have had the "Check VSC" warning before and I fixed it by replacing my gas cap. My gas cap seems fine this time around so I got my codes scanned and the only one that came up was P0300. Having this issue with the 2007 Lexus GS 350? I still feel like it's my gas cap because I bought a cheap replacement last time around.
My Lexus was working fine till yesterday, but today when I started (button press) it, it started giving me a Check VSC error and Check engine light along with Slip Indicator started showing up

My vehicle is a 98 F150 5.4 ltr Triton. I got a check engine light on and the error is "bank 2, system too lean." I read that this can be caused by a few different things like vacuum leaks or fuel filter and so far I haven't been able to narrow down. It started with occasional shaking at idle and its happening more as time goes. When at idle it often makes a sound like slurping the bottom of a drink with a straw and shakes intermittently. The fuel economy seems to have gone down. Sometimes it seems like it almost dies in idle, but always keeps running. It runs great when I push on the gas.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 Camry Hybrid and recently got a "Check VSC System" warning light. A diagnostic resulted in a C0210 error code. The code is for a right rear speed sensor malfunction.
I had a local shop look at it and he replaced the hub accembly including the speed sensor. It didnt work. He and I took a ride and on his diagnostic tool, the speed reading for the right rear wheel was all over the place.
The next day he replaced it thinking that the new sensor was bad. This worked, however only for a day. Now the light had come on again with the same error.
After replacing at a Toyota dealer in my country the JBL 6CD audio system under warranty (was not responding on the commands from front panel, the unit was faulty), I've found some error codes left in System Check Mode and I don't know what is their meaning. View 4 RepliesI have a 2010 gen 111 with nav system etc, the other day a orange check engine light came on, I took it to our Toyota Dealer and they said that I had mud and gravel up in the car, near the fuel intake area, and that the carbon capture canister/switch was damaged by the dirt and I need to get it replaced. I asked if I could simply not make the repair due to the fact that the electronics system would eventually not be able to read the H Carbon readings and the car would burn more fuel.

I haven't overfilled on Gas, the Gas Cap is completely on (2 clicks), and I haven't OVERLY pushed the car either haha.
The only update was replacing the STOCK filter with K&N Drop In Filter.
So I go and get my oil change on Sunday at a local place. Oil change is done and later that evening my engine light comes on (solid orange). I call the local VW service and they say its nothing to worry about. "Maybe a little moisture got inside my gas tank." The service manager said to continue to drive it like nothing is wrong and it should go off. Here I am two days later and its still on. So should I be worried?
View 9 RepliesMy wife's Prius now has the check engine light, the orange triangle, and the car with the exclamation point lit up. It only has 96,000 miles and hasn't been in a wreck that we know of. I've read that it has to do with the HV ECU, but I don't know much more about it. Is there any chance it's just a loose cable or something simple? It doesn't seem like her car should already be having so many extensive problems all at once. We haven't had any in the past, except the car with the exclamation point came on for a few days and then went away on its own.

Thursday driving home from work, the thing started dinging and all sorts of lights started flashing at me. I looked in the manual and (finally) found that it is the TPMS. The orange light on the left side blinks for 1 minute and then stays on steady. I also see "Check System" in the display under the speedometer and there is a red light with an explanation point (!) on the right side. Checked all tire pressure. All were at 30 PSI. Checked spare, it was good. Manual says if it blinks and stays steady, contact your dealer. Called...they can't look at it until Feb. 12. I drive 40 miles a day on average. Not a lot, but by 2/12 that is several hundred miles. what could be wrong and if i should still be driving this car?
