My 2013 gs 350 f sport sounds like a school bus. I already replace the front pads with a new set of oem pads and had them resurface the disk too. after a couple of hours the noise came back! seems like my lexus dealer can't solve my issue.
View 14 RepliesI have noticed the brakes to be squeaking pretty loud car has about 37k miles and the last service done at 32k shows front pads to be at 5mm and rears at 9mm. What am I looking at is it covered under warranty or I just need to swap the pads.
View 7 RepliesI just picked up a 2013 SEL CPO, I noticed after I took the car home the brakes starting squeaking, I took it back and the Service Advisor told me this was a known issue and the only thing they could do is so put some crap I don't know what he said but he said it was but it would wear off and start squeaking again...
View 7 RepliesSo my front brakes are squeaking pretty damn bad, and I'm pretty sure that I need to replace them. However, with the history that we have with the rears wearing faster than the fronts, and since neither have been replaced in 30K miles.
I don't want to have to come back and go at it again, and would rather spend one day then two getting the job done. .
my 99 s/w 2 started making a squeaking sound coming from the front right wheel area it goes away when I apply the brakes? is that one of those built in warning features to let you know the brake pads are getting low? the brakes have 86,000 miles on them.
View 2 RepliesReplaced both rear calipers about 4 months ago, both were frozen. A few weeks ago I started getting some bad squeaking from the front brakes. The front calipers seemed fine when I did the rears.
Tonight I had even more fun with the beast. Drove to my sons baseball game and felt an odd "grinding" when braking. *Seems* to be coming from the front. On the way home, the grinding was worse and then the fun really started. Hit the brakes and the wheels started hopping enough to shake the whole friggin' truck. Leaving from a light, you could feel the brakes stick and then release, next stop was more shake n bake.
Not sure where to start on this one.
I have had my RC-F since November and two days after having it the brakes have been squeaking. I had thought that It would work its way out just had figured since it was new it had to work its way off of the brake pads. I have 1100 Miles on it now and it is still squeaking.

Took it to dealer they said brakes still have a lot left on them, but it still squeaks like crazy every time I stop. Taking it to dealer again. I am thinking something is defective, pads or rotors, as I just heard another new Santa fe have the exact same squeaking as they were driving along. My car is at 30k km.

I only have 22k miles on my 3is and that seems like a really look mileage for the breaks to be worn off. I dont track ny car and i pretty much drive slow. How long are your brake pads lasting? Is this normal for the 3is pads to wear off this fast?
View 14 RepliesI recently bought a 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T about a 3 months ago, and have since noticed a couple issues that have come up with it. First was with a squeaking front suspension, but that was fixed by simply lubricating the sway bar bushings.
The second is that the steering wheel seems louder than normal when turning left/right at low speeds, mainly when parking, it sounds like two pieces of paper rubbing against each other right behind the steering wheel like a dry noise.
I test drove another Santa Fe before getting mine for about a week and didn't notice this issue. Is this a normal sound that eventually develops after having the Santa Fe for a while? I'm like at 3,600 miles.
Ok this just started and it has to do with brakes in a way----the Noise is the sound of when you are deflating a balloon (the squeaking sound). Its under the dash area and I can make it do it if I press on the brake pedal and let off it will make the squealing sound. Some times it will do it on its own just driving along without even hitting the breaks, but when it DOES start doing it I can make it do the noise constantly pushing the brake pedal down and then letting off!!!
View 10 RepliesMy moms GX 470 squeaks a lot at lower speeds and when pressing on the brakes. She's taken it to the repair shop twice, they said they tried replacing the brakes and they were still squeaking. It has to be something around the wheels cause thats where the sound is coming from.
View 10 RepliesI just replaced my front brake pads and rotors. Car had no squeaking sounds before this. When changing the right front pads and rotor, the set screw that holds the rotor in place snapped on me when I tried to remove it. I drilled out the remaining screw and inserted an easy out / screw extractor to try to remove the broken screw. Screw wouldn't turn/budge and eventually the easy out snapped in half while trying to turn it. Here is where I fear I made a little problem into an even bigger one; I tried to remove the broken easy out by banging the back end (smaller end) of it with a hammer and screwdriver, hoping it would pop out from the front of the hub. No success, and continued using a lot of force to try to remove it from the rear part of the hub. Eventually I noticed the hub area by the back of the easy out bent a little from me using force from the rear to remove the easy out. I stopped there, bent the hub section back to original shape (didn't bend too much to begin with) and sawzawed off the protruding end of the easy out from behind.
After driving a few times I started noticing the squeaking sound coming from the front right wheel, the sound sounds like is in tune/harmony with the wheel rotation. As soon I step on the brakes, the sound stops. I had a similar sounding problem with a rear wheel a long time ago and it ended up being that the bearing needed adjustment. I know the front bearings are pressed in so they can't be adjusted. I am thinking the force used to try to remove the broken easy out damaged something with the hub or bearing or maybe the axle nut.
Have 33K miles on a 2013 f sport. Great car.
Yesterday I noticed a chirping noise when I had my window down. I could not hear it when it was up. It sounds a bit like the squeal of brake pads, but it's continuous even when not braking (it does change tone with speed, direction and braking). to compound things at times I don't hear it at all.
Could this be brake pads? My front ones are coming due. I thought they only made noise when braking.
My new-to-me 2013 LS has a squeaking driver's seat... it's especially evident if the car's been parked for a week.
When I purchased the car it had this problem, the dealership "took care of it", but it came back a month later... when I lean back in the seat it squeaks annoyingly...
When I apply the brakes on and off while in park, I hear a "fluttering squeaking" noise. I examined the brake pads and calipers, and everything seems to be fine. I greased up all the brake hardware and no luck.
Also, I have a popping noise while making turns while I am not braking. I really doubt there is any connection with the brakes? I recently went testing in a parking lot, and while slightly turning from left to right I noticed the popping constantly. Keep in mind no brakes were applied.
Last year the dealer replaced the brake actuator and all arms were replaced. BTW, I am past my extended 100K warranty!!

I bought my ES in January of this year, and almost from the get go I've had an intermittent problem with a squeak in the dash... I really think this is a cool weather issue because last weekend it was in the mid 70;s here and not a single noise... this morning temps dropped into the upper 40's and there was that damn squeak again...
It's located right over the speedometer about 2 to 3 inches in from the edge ( just beyond my grandson's right hand in the pic below... Took it to the dealer a week or two back but because it wasn't making any noise, they told me there was no point in leaving it... but this morning they said bring it buy and we'll put you in a loaner....
I've heard of this being an issue on some IS models but not on any ES models... anyway according to what I've read the fix was to remove the screws on the bottom side of the dash 'hump" and then insert some felt in there... hope this works, because even though it's just a squeak and nothing mechanical.
I just got a 2009 lexus gs 350 everything is perfect except when i go into reverse and back up slowly the brakes make a loud squeaking noise!! Its really annoying and embarrassing. I got the rotors resurfaced and nothing.
