Assuming the car is locked and the option has been selected, are the driving lights, interior lights, and puddle lights supposed to come on automatically if you approach the car with key in pocket or must you first use fob to unlock the car?

View 14 RepliesI noticed yesterday that each time I turned the car on it would automatically be set in EcoMode. I thought our cars start in normal mode because of epa mpg testing purposes. I'm not complaining just wondering how this happened on its own since I've read on this site that the GS starts on normal. I have a '15 model.

View 3 RepliesI have a 08 corvette that allows you to walk away from the car with the fob in your pocket and the car locks without having to touch anything once the fob is a certain many feet away from the car. I like that option and I cannot figure out how to do it on my wife's 2013 RX ( or even if it will work that way)
I don't drive her car that much but it seems inconvenient to have to remember to touch the little depression area on the outside driver handle to lock the car. I know, I could just get used to it , but just walking away without having to do something seems more simple and should be an option in a car of this cost and technology.
Is it possible to program the car to lock all doors when I walk away with the fob and not having to touch anything on the car?
Have trouble with the drivers side not seating in the bumper pocket? Mine pops out on one corner weekly. I'm not sure if it would come out completely.

View 14 RepliesWe purchased our 2016 Santa Fe Sport about a year ago and we've always had issues with our automatic tailgate. When we open the tailgate with either the tailgate button itself, the key fob or standing behind the back of the car while it is locked with the 3 beeps; once the tailgate reaches the top, it will start descending back to close right away. It happens more often than it not happening and it's absolutely annoying. I can stop it quickly by hitting the button on the underside of the tailgate and then push it back to the top.
View 6 RepliesI have both my wipers and headlights set to "auto". I was wondering if there was a setting somewhere that turned on the headlights when the wipers are consistently on. I took my first long road trip today and it rained the whole way. The rain sensing wipers were awesome and I didn't have to mess with the settings at all. But when it's raining, it's the law here to have headlights on and it's something I want to do anyway because it's hard to see vehicles in the road rain mist when the headlights aren't on. So I was forced to manually turn them on.
View 10 RepliesHow to do this without breaking anything? The other day I noticed a spider somehow got into my passenger map light and died in there. I have trim removal tools and stuff but I'm hesitant to go blind on this one for fear of breaking some clips or breaking the whole thing because I missed a screw or something like that. It doesn't seem like you can just take the plastic lens off the light, so I'm not sure how to proceed.
View 1 RepliesRecently had small body work done on our 2013 ES-350. Apparently (I'm assuming), they disabled the battery at some point and then activated it as almost all of my hard-learned and requested settings were gone! So, just realized that our interior overhead lights do not come on automatically in the car as we enter it at night.
Also, have always noticed that when we want the heater to come on, it seems like it takes at least 5 min. or so before warm air is felt. in our old Jeep, takes 30 seconds! Usually activate it by raising the temp up with the up/down arrows. Seems like if I turn on the window defroster setting, warm air comes out rather quickly from there but not when we want warm air from the dash vents.
Also, as an OMG - when trying to find the above info, came across the instructions that there is a trunk button that I can use to open it up. Have always had to go thru the trouble of pulling out my key fob, not realizing this - geesh, only took two years to find this out!!
Now I'm wondering if there are other features that were turned off that we're not aware of. In fact, does it make sense that all the settings should have been disengaged like that for a door repair - is it possible they didn't remove the battery but something else occurred to have lost all the settings?

I listen to a lot of am talk and it works fine. Problem is when I start my car it automatically switches over to FM.
I have a 2013 Passat SEL Premium TDI with the Climatronic system. I have noticed that the AC light never turns on unless I press the AC button...then it stays on regardless of the temperature until I turn it off. Is this normal operation for the Climatronic? When I think of "set it and forget it," I think of the AC turning on and off automatically depending on the temperature. I drive too much to have the AC on all the time (about 600 miles per week).

View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 Sonata GLS. Something I noticed (for the first time). If I leave the car unlocked and I stand in the proximity of the car, after about a minute or so, the lights will flash and lock the doors automatically (without me pushing the fob button). At first I thought the button was being pressed accidentally, but I proved myself wrong by taking the keys out my pocket and laying them on the garage workbench. Is this normal ?
View 10 RepliesMy work horse is singing me the blues. It will idle correctly for 1 - 2 sec., then approach death, then idle correctly again for 1 - 2 seconds. It responds as expected when the throttled of opened for 1 - 2 seconds, any longer it will begin to die. This is what I have done so far.
1. Changed the fuel filter. Did not check to see of water was in the filter as I only purchase gas from name brand gas stations. Did not think I could get bad gas from them.
2. Check MAP sensor, voltage signals were close. Changed it out any way. No change.
3. Checked the Engine Coolant Sensor, it is sending the correct voltage.
4. Checked the Idle Air Control Valve. The impedance is as called for in the Chilton repair manual.
5. Checked the Throttle Position Sensor. It appears to be sending the correct voltage as the throttle is opened and closed.
6. Overhauled the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Replaced the spring, diaphragm, and gaskets.
7. Overhauled the Throttle Body. Removed the injector, cleaned all passages with solvent and compressed air. Did not soak the injectors.
In my mind, all that is left is the fuel pump or maybe I did get bad gas.
Just threw some steelies on my car for winter mode. I was told they were in balance but I'm having a weird issue.
Steering wheel shakes when you approach 60+, but with varying severity. It will shake hard one minute, and then soft the next.
I also found that stepping on the gas makes it shake, and letting off the gas (coasting down) makes it stop.
Is this an issue with the wheels, or something in my drivetrain. I never really noticed it with the RC's.
