How do I remove the plastic shelf that is blocking my path to access the cabin air filter? The left side is easily removed by pushing the shelf up but I cannot remove the right side of the shelf.

View 7 RepliesBought a 2013 model last spring. Yesterday, When I made a trip to airport for dropping my girl friend off. I drove it back about 35miles to home. A/C ON makes terrible smell. Immediately I suspect for condition of cabin air filter from my experience from the past. After I switched it back and forth of recirculation switch. I am pretty sure it is involving with. Now I tried to reach it. But I can not figure out how to take grove box rid with out giving a damage. Even it may not there behind a glove box (my wild guess).

View 3 RepliesI'm attempting to change the A/C cabin filter on my 2013 LS. I've followed the instructions explicitly including setting the A/C function to recirculate mode.
However, when I get to removing the filter case I press on the 2 tabs as indicated in the instructions and try as I might the case doesn't move.
Am I missing something? Is there a specific knack to this?
I just recently replaced the cabin filter on my 2012 rx350 and now the A/C doesn't work. I checked under the hood and the compressor doesn't kick in. What caused it? Or should I take it to the dealership to have it checked out? It only has about 20,000 miles too..

View 14 RepliesI used to replace my LS430 cabin air filter myself. Now I have a 2012 LS460, and they have made the hatch door in the glove box motorized. I know to open the hatch, it has something to do with depressing the Fan button on the dash. But I don't know exactly what to press, if car should be running, or ignition simply On but not running, etc. What is the exact procedure that opens the little hatch in the glove box so I can replace the filter ? (And my primary reason for wanting to bring it to dealer is simply that it took me 5 minutes to do it on my LS430, vs MUCH longer to go to my dealer.)
View 10 RepliesGS 350 AWD. I use the plastic pipe attached to a tube for draining. Worked fine the first few oil changes, but now it won't drain. The only way I can get it to drain is to leave the pipe attached and very, very briefly start the car and then turn it off. Then the oil pours out as it should. This happened the last time as well. I'm now at about 40,000 miles.

I just took delivery of a 2013 Lexus GS 350 all-wheel-drive. I have the luxury package which includes the large display screen in the center of the dash. Unfortunately the plastic cover over the navigation screen is dirty on the inside. How to remove the plastic cover on the center display?
View 11 RepliesI have a 2013 GS350 thats lowered on Tanabe Springs and 20s. It looks nice but the only problem i have is rubbing against the plastic (that what it sounds like) lining in the fender well. This only happens when I make a quick left turn or U turn. The tire size is 245/35/20.

Interesting tale. After parking my GX on Friday night, it wouldn't start on Saturday. Starter seemed fine, Battery was cranking away but something seemed to be blocking fuel from getting to the carburetor. The Lexus dealer (50 miles away) said they never heard of a fuel pump or fuel filter being an issue on a 4 year old GX with 60K miles. I did take the battery to be tested and found out it was getting weak so I bought a replacement, but still couldn't start the vehicle.
I had AAA tow my GX to the closest dealer (Toyota) and they determined that mice had eaten through two sensor wires. They had to remove the manifold to get to the nest (?) or whatever they call these little mice homes. This meant new gaskets, replacing shredded wiring and sensors plus 4 hours labor.
Since I moved from the city to the country last year, this is the first I heard of this issue. Long term campers tell me the way they keep mice out of their engine compartments is by putting Bounce (anti-static dryer sheets) under the hood as this seems to stop the mice activity.
I have been driving my new ES 300h for a few days and have noticed that often when I apply the brakes, there is a faint high pitched noise in the cabin. It's not a brake noise of any sort, its clearly some electronic component. I was just wondering if this is a normal part of the regenerative braking system or not, as it is definitely quite audible and takes away from the otherwise very quiet ride of the vehicle.
