In the attached image, I circled an area in red. When going over bumps, I hear a soft but annoying rubbing noise.
Any clue how to fix this?

Recently picked up a certified '14 IS 350. Noticed a quite regular 'creak' or 'rubbing' like noise when going over bumps and such, emanating from my left ear area of the car. If i open the window slightly these noises essentially go away. I'm guessing the closing of the window tweaks the door frame which tweaks the sealing of the door... And so the noise of probably the seals rubbing in just the wrong way. (Not thrilled that this is occurring in a car of Lexus' quality reputation).

Really want to keep the lowered look and in fact I want to lower the rear 5mm more. Thinking of changing to 255 in place of the 265 for the rear.
I bought a 2010 lexus ls460l awd with about 80,00 miles on it and also bought a warranty for 3 year/ 36,000 miles. After having the car for a couple of days i noticed things that I didn't like as well as figured weren't normal, alot of it had to do with noises, the dealer told me they didn't cover noises, and i asked if those noises meant something was wrong then what?? It was mostly squeaks and rattles that I didn't expect to hear in a car of this caliber, going over uneven road there's a constant squeak coming from the front, if its a bump its an extremely hard thump in the rear, and the idle.....is BY FAR the loudest I've ever heard in any car that I've been in.
When I turned the wheel all the way in either direction and pressed the gas, it made a rubbing noise with a harsh vibration, brakes squeak horribly about 2 days out of the week for about an hour then it goes away. When i took it in they said everything was fine except a part on the rear struts and said they needed some special oil for the vibrating rubbing issue. Picked up the car and noticed the vibrating issue was resolved but during the drive home noticed everything else stayed the same.
Recently bought a CPO 2010 RX350 with 57k miles on it at a dealer on 8/30/14. Its developed quite a bit of interior rattles and creaks from what sounds like the structure over bumps and roads that aren't smooth. Plus the sunroof has a high frequency rattle. None of these were present during the test drive.

View 4 RepliesI have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.
View 7 RepliesI recently got a set of staggered IS 350 wheels, and while I realize it's not ideal , my father wants to know if they will fit his 2012 ES350 ? The front tires I'm having put on are 225 / 45 / 18, but the tears are still good and are 255 / 40 / 18. Will the 255 fit in the back without rubbing issues.
So, I just went ahead and put the wheel on. The stats are 18x8.5, +45 offset, and 255/40/18.
Initially the tire rubbed while driving, the wheel was able to rotate, but not without the rotating rub noise against the strut. So then I put on a 5mm spacer I had and it was perfect.
So my lovely wife tells me that something sounds sounds like it is rubbing from underneath the hood of my Lexus. So I take it to the dealership and they tell me it's the the the tensioner for the timing belt needs to be replaced. So I have them replace it and In the process they tell me that it sounds like there is something wrong with the fuel pump but they were able to quiet down though I don't understand how. Anyway after I pick the car up it sounds exactly the same as it did when I left it, personally I don't feel like I should pay for labor on this repair but besides that I don't understand what this issue could be. It sounds like something is rubbing while the car is running.. Lexus 2002 ES300 ..

View 14 RepliesI have 2007 F-150. I left for Iraq for two weeks and one of my kids borrowed my truck. When I got back, I drove the truck and have noise like the tire is rubbing something. I can't find anything hitting the tire. When you turn left, it makes the noise, when you turn right, it doesn't. If you drive straight and hit a bump it sounds like it rubs loader as you bounce. I had a mechanic look at it and he says that he couldn't see anything. I've had the front end aligned and it still makes the noise. I'm at a loss for an answer. The truck handles fine it is just very annoying and I want it stopped!

However, if the doors are unlocked, the interior lights do not come on and I get in the car in the dark and fumble around in the dark getting situated. Is there a setting that controls this so I can change it?

Basically, when at low speeds from the passenger floor board you can feel a vibration as if something was rubbing in a rotational fashion. She had the car inspected at a dealer but they found nothing (specifically with the brakes).

View 14 RepliesFeels like the front suspension is blown in the front of my car and i got an alignment not too long ago and the sides are feathering already. spoke to couple of my friends and we have confirmed that the front is blown and also when i drive i see the front bouncing when i go over bumps. I just want to ask the people who did remove their stock suspension and see what brand they are.

View 4 RepliesMy 2008 LS460L blows cold air on cold days/nights when the engine is idling. Raising the RPM to about 1500 causes heat to start to flow out of the air ducts. I also hear a gurgling sound behind the dash when accelerating normally from idle. The water pump was replaced by Lexus in late April 2014.
I have checked the coolant reservoir (engine cold) and found it to be slightly below the "LOW" coolant level mark (not empty). It would seem that since the feed from the coolant reservoir is on the bottom of the reservoir, as long as there is some coolant in the reservoir, the rest of the system should be full.
All things considered, are the two issues (no heat & gurgling sound) more likely to be caused by low coolant in the system, the relatively new water pump, or something else? BTW, what is the proper method to top off the coolant in a 2008 LS460L? Are there any special bleed ports for eliminating air pockets?
