The side passenger mirror on my 2008 Lexus LS460 will not unfold once the car has been in Park. The mirror still tilts but I must get out of the car and walk around to "unfold" or straighten side view mirror when I put it in Drive.
View 1 RepliesI just noticed this happening recently. My passenger side mirror looks like it is peeling. The part that "peeled off", no longer auto dims, while the 90% of the mirror still has dimming. But it looks ugly as heck.
View 9 RepliesBacking out of garage this morning I brushed against the side and smashed a piece of plastic out of passenger side view mirror. Sent a picture to parts department of local Lexus dealer and quoted 304.80 for "special order" part + 300 for labor. This is an insane price for a non-functioning piece of plastic. Thoughts on best DIY way to proceed? I have the broken off plastic, but it does not sit flush in the assembly.

View 5 RepliesOn my 2005 GX, the passenger side mirror can move only left to right (horizontally) but it cannot go up or down. I did some reading and it looks like this is a 'common' problem with Lexus mirrors due to the auto tilt-down feature. Something inside must be worn out or broken and it does not move any more.
The driver side mirror moves fine in every direction, so i am pretty sure it's not a defective mirror switch. The question is.... since this is such a common problem, is there a fix for it, other than replacing the entire mirror assembly? Is there a "gear kit" or something else that i can buy, disassemble the mirror and fix it?

Not the typical "why don't they drop down" question. Mine do drop down in reverse. Any way to only drop the passenger side mirror? I strongly dislike my driver's mirror dropping down.
I frequently find and park in a space with a curb to the right of the car. And I park close to it to leave maximum space to the car to my left. In order to minimize the door dinging potential. I like the RH mirror to drop so I can put the tires like an an inch or so to the curb.
But I very rarely ever curb park to the left side. It makes it too difficult to get out of the car.
That being said, I look for obstacles out my LH & rear view mirror. I can't see obstacles when the LH mirror is pointing at the ground. Yes, I look at the screen in the car also.
Any way to change this? I have not found a setting in the customizable setting menu for this.
2007 GS350 ... Mirror only moves down sometimes when I shift into reverse. Malfunction started about month ago.

View 3 RepliesLately I've been having issues with my windows, door locks and power mirrors not working. Here are the symptoms;
What works;
Driver window Sunroof Key fob unlock/lock (Also all of the doors unlock when I open the door)
What does NOT work;
All passenger windows (they were working intermittently before but now none of them work) Door locks from any panel (Sometimes I can unlock the doors but can never lock them) Side view mirror controls
Seems like it could be a faulty ecu. Plan on removing the door this weekend to inspect everything.
Came out to find my drivers mirror had been ran into by someone walking by and now the mirror won't retract. You can hear the gear moving, but the housing doesn't move. The mirror works just fine, just the folding action is not working. Before I remove the door panel to remove the mirror assy, can you replace the gear inside or do you have to replace the entire assy?

My self-closing door feature on my driver door has stopped working recently. The other three doors self-closing door feature works flawlessly.
Is there an easy solution, such as a fuse? Or, does something else, more extensive, need to be done, i.e., should I seek out a professional mechanic?
As an aside, around the same time (if not the same time), my folding side mirror for my driver door stopped working. Any possibility they are related?
The A/C in my 2007 ES 350 blows about 20 degrees warmer out the drivers side than passenger side with both sides set the the same temp.

As I want to use the electrical mirrors to adjust my driver side mirror, passenger side mirror moves too. Is it possible that these faults caused by not coded ECU?
I connected ground wire of my LED to blue and black cable connected to the mirror and ran another wire from unit 10 in 16 pin door connector to live wire from my LED.
I am just curious about my passat side mirrors ... the passenger mirror is smaller then the driver side?

View 12 RepliesNoticed my passenger side HID low beam went out about a week ago... 2008 ls460, out of warranty
1 - changed HID bulb, still out
2 - checked applicable fuses in fuse box in engine compartment, all seems fine
3 - changed to new ballast, still nothing
All the other lights in the headlight are operating fine, only the low beam is still out. Somehow the ballast is not receiving power.
That's the window regulator, right? It works fine but sounds like a computer printer from 1987 when it goes up and down. I've owned 3 5th gen ES cars and every single one had the problem. I stopped by the dealer today to use my aftermarket warranty to replace but they said they wanted a $150 diagnostic fee.
