I have a squawking sort of noise from behind the glovebox area that seems to happen when I'm driving on a freeway at speed. It sounds like a little electric motor maybe trying to adjust an AC flap perhaps ?
View 4 RepliesI did a lot of searching on this, but can't seem to come to a solid conclusion. I have a 01 VR6, When I put my air circulation (warm or cold, doesn't matter) to 1 or 2 on vent control, its fine. However, when i put it to 3 or 4, there is a LOUD kind of "whirring" type air noise that comes from the Passenger Glove Box area. I also feel a little bit of the vibration on the brake pad. Not sure what this is?....
View 2 RepliesI have a mk4 R32 74k miles on it ... I recently brought the car to the dealer and I will never do it again !!! Never had any problems until now .. I brought it in for the radio and they diagnose the problem so they ordered me a new radio that's all they looked at and it's the only time it ever went into the dealership .. Today I start the car and I have a ticking noise coming from behind the center console radio glovebox area and I can't figure it out ?? I thought it was vibration from the motor so I gave it a little gas in neutral nothing ?? I turned the radio on and off still have the noise ? Turned on an off the climate control still have the noise ?? Don't know what it is ? Friends say it sounds like a relay that's coming on and off ??
View 3 RepliesJust lately, I noticed a buzzing noise emanating from the glovebox when my car starts up. It goes away probably in 20 secs or so, and it's very pronounced when the outside temp is hot. When I was replacing my cabin filter, I found the source of the buzz. It's black box below the cabin air filter, to the right, with a 6-pin (?) molex. What this part is? See attached pic for identification.
View 4 RepliesSo I started hearing a noise that sounded like a telegraph clicking in random intervals. Some days, no sound while others I thought I was an old Western Union Office. Now the sound has progressed into a sound that almost sounds like a small compressor. It sounds at each start up and then at different points during the drive. I have traced it back to this device. It sits to the left of the Air return behind the glovebox. I have two pics to illustrate. It is the black box with a small wiring harness plugges into the top. On the left side there is a cylindrical white piece that is part of this device. Everything in my car works so not sure what this thing does. It looks like a royal pain to get out as one of the bracket screws is down in the back so that screw will be tough to get to without dropping the blower housing. That may require pulling more things like the dash when they replaced the evaprator.

View 8 RepliesOne issue is unresolved with my 2007 LS 460 L. Minor noise from the suspension area on rough roads at low speeds, it is a rattle sound that is intermittent on rough roads or parking lots. I tried two dealerships but the issue remains unresolved. Most recently the second dealer said it is fixed and had the following listed in the sheet "ADJUSTED ENGINE COVER NOISE IN FRONT SUSPENSION - 99259 INSULATED METAL ENGINE COVER, ROAD TESTED WITH 2 TECHNICIANS TO CONFIRM NO ADDITIONAL NOISES ".
After few weeks, noise is reappearing occasionally.
I can here this squawking under my hood for 30 sec or so after every engine stop, when parking. I purchased the car used with 19,500 Kilometers. This noise has always been there. Is this normal? I believe the noise is from the inverter coolant pump? I don't hear this when the car is running, but then my hearing is not the greatest?
View 7 RepliesHeard clunk (technicdal term) noise when you are in reverse and press the brake pedal. It is coming from the front end/brake area. I did not see a service bulletin for this.

It has been determined that the source of such a rattle may be the Tire Pressure Warning System (TPWS) antenna located above the headliner between the rear of the sliding roof opening and the top of the back glass.
Well, after a few months of frustration hearing a buzzing in the back seats, i notice this bulletin on the 07 ES and I've tested on my 08 car and it is the same, simply tapping on the roof liner or pulling it and releasing it makes a buzzing sound. Even when i tap on the glass roof, the buzzing sound is resonating. Would the dealer rectify this issue if my car is a 08 ? I'm still under warranty.
Drove my truck for the first time in a few months and there was a noticeable ticking coming from the passenger side glovebox area when the HVAC is running. I cycled between AC and fresh air and the sound persisted. What it could be?

I have an annoying rattle which is getting worse the more I drive. It appears to emanate from near the glovebox but I can't place it. I've emptied the glovebox and the rattle is still there and even driven with the glovebox door open and it still rattles. Is there a known issue in this area? I've tried searching on the forum but I'm not having much luck.

But it has recently developed an annoying clicking noise coming from the passenger's side somewhere around or behind the glovebox. I have emptied out the glovebox and tried turning off the climatronic and the stereo but cannot locate it.
View 5 RepliesWe have a 2004 Excursion limited edition with 6.0 diesel. This is a recent purchase for our family. This is our first ever Ford and our first ever Diesel.
Now that we are transitioning into colder weather, we recently tried to place the air from AC to Heater. When we tried, we noticed a clicking or hitting noise from the passenger side behind the glove box. When we stopped the air, the noise stopped. When we kept it on the AC, it stopped. Last night we tried to replicate the issue to get more info and we saw that now its stuck on heater and we lost the AC cold air. The module that is making noise is behind the glove box. It is not coming from the actuator that moves air from the feet to the vents, but it is to the right of the actuator and has a plug with about 4 cables plugged into it.
Questions:
What is this module so that I can order a new one?
Does this sound like a bad HVAC blend door actuator? (not trying to steer it that way if its not.)
Any videos on how to replace it? I only see one bolt that mounts it and it appears to be about 8 mm. Is that the only thing holding it?

View 1 Replies2008 lexus es350 -- chirping noise from serpentine belt area. Chirping starts after a bit of driving. Got belt replaced, mechanic says it is water pump (as he says he saw marking and could be a prior leak), but I don't want to do this trial and error.
I got belt replaced by the mechanic who said wold fix the problem but did not. Should I replace water pump as it is expense on es350 and only to have chirping noise not fixed as it could be something else like alignment or idler pulley etc.
I have a 2006 touareg 7L 3.0 V6 tdi, and i have 2 problems.
First is I'm sure the heated external mirrors arent heating up, yes i have the switch set to middle for heat but they don't seem to be getting warm like my m3 does. i would check the fuse but i see no fuse for mirror heating! What is the fuse number?
Second problem is a very noisy clicking noise coming from behind the glovebox, i've videod it and heres the noise [URL] .... I've done a bit of searching and think its the blower fan but i want to be 100%...
