The trunk button on the back of my 07 ls460l seems to have "melted" in the South Florida heat. It is now a stcky black patch that feels gross when opening the trunk. I'm gonna have it looked at/replaced soon.
View 14 RepliesWhen I push the button or use the fob to open the trunk, it opens but the trunk lid does not pop up. I have to pull it up manually. Is there some trick I'm missing? I skimmed the manual but didn't find anything.
I found my answer. Apparently they don't pop open on the older models, which is ridiculous. They started putting that option on cars years ago! Unbelievable.
I have 2007 mica LS, the key fob and trunk button on dash stopped working the trunk. The button inside the trunk will close it but i have to use the key to open it. I have taken battery post off and checked fuses, but not sure if I checked the correct one.
View 2 RepliesI just picked up 2007 LS460. I used the remote to open the trunk, but can't use it to close the trunk. Can only close by pressing the button on the trunk to close. When i press close on the remote, it beeps, but does not do anything.
View 7 RepliesI am the new owner of a 2015 ES350 and I've found that my trunk can be opened using the button under the trunk lip even when I don't have the key fob in my possession (my 2014 Dodge Charger does the same thing). How to prevent anybody without the key fob in their possession from accessing my trunk?

View 14 RepliesMy trunk won't open with the button on key FOB, interior button, and trunk-lid button. I did check the glove compartment valet button multiple times as well. No luck there. The trunk does open manually with the metal key from the key FOB, just not the other buttons.
EDIT: The key FOB button works in that it makes the long beep noise, but the trunk does not pop. The auto-shut function does not work either. Just checked the driver side panel "TRK OPN" fuse and that's perfectly fine.
Could it be a bad solenoid? Bad latch or fuse?
I have a 2008 GS350 AWD. One day, the trunk stopped working. The trunk button next to the drivers seat doesn't work nor does the button on the key fob work. I already pressed the valet button in the glove box, so I know its not that. Every time I try to open the trunk with the key fob, it'll beep but the trunk won't open. The ONLY way to get it open is to many insert the key that's hidden in the fob.
I read a couple of threads regarding this problem. Some say they went to lexus and was charged 1600 while others say they fixed it themselves.
One person said "They unplugged the wiring harness from the ECU (Electronic Control Unit? I guess). Once the harness was plugged back in the ECU reset and trunk works fine now. However they tell me it could happen again."
Where exactly is the wiring harness/ecu? Any diagram that I could follow?
Another person wrote "Took it to Lexus and they told me it would cost over $1600 to fix. Found your post, opened the trunk to disconnect the cable to the ECU. It would require some dissasembly. Leaving the trunk open, I disconnected the main battery ground and waited 5 minutes and reconnected the ground. This also reset the ECU. I closed the trunk and now everything works fine again."
Where is the "main battery ground"? Is he referring to the same battery that you hook up jumper cables to? if so, how do I disconnect the main battery.
Other than checking the fuse and the valet switch, anything else to look for when the trunk will not open via the key or the dash switch? The car does make the beep when the key remote is pressed, but no open. Also, the top works fine. Gas door works fine. Manual release of trunk also works.

It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manually close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.

If I press the lock button too early, I get the alarm.
I bought a 2012 F250 6.2L 4wd recently, truck came from Canada, Noticed a sticky residue along button of doors, around hinges, inside front and side edges of hood, some of the goo is in the A/C coil, doesn't have much odor, maybe oil, comes off with degreaser, doesn't look like it came from engine as that is clean, could this be something they spray on the roads up there? Doesn't seem to harm anything just messy if you rub up against it?
View 8 RepliesI am driving a 2007 Lexus LS. Yesterday, the battery died, so I had to jump the car.
The battery was easily jumped, but now the trunk of the car will not close. I am able to push it all the way down, but the latch will not grab and attach.
Also, the automatic trunk button does not work either. When I press the button, I can hear a "click", but nothing happens.
I have a 2007 es 350. I hauled a bike in the trunk yesterday, obviously with the trunk lid firmly tied down. Went over a speed bump, I thought slow enough, but there was a thump from the back. Later that day I noticed the passenger side was up around 1/4" at the upper edge close to the rear window. Checked with a hose and it leaks.
View 14 RepliesIt is very cold up here in WI and this week, I found that the trunk lid would not power open. It would unlatch and then just sit there. There was no ice in the way and it would power down normally. When parked in the garage overnight it was ok but at work at the end of the day it would not do its thing.

View 10 Repliesmy power trunk normally works fine when level. When parked on an incline it stutters/slips going up and have to manually close . Sounds like a gear slipping in a ratchet.
Works completely fine on level surface. Normal?
So today I walk out Walmart getting ready to put some groceries in my trunk and it won't open. It beeps... But will not open. I've tried the button on both the remote and inside the car. Hell I even took a long stick and went through the middle of the back seat and pulled the trunk release inside the trunk lid.. And it still won't open.... No I did not touch the trunk cancel button in the glove. All it does is beeps. It won't open.
