just tradred my IS for an LS and cant seem to open the trunk with the oem remote , even while pressing the button and holding it? i tried the override switch in glove box, no luck. if i open with key and press button on trunk lid, it will close!
View 3 RepliesI'm no pro but I've installed and uninstalled a good amount of systems in my time. Working on my new (to me) LS is like no other car I've had. The thing is built like a tank.
Usually, running the power into the trunk is the easiest part. Snap up the bottom part of the back seat and then a few bolts to remove the upper part of the back seat and your basically IN the trunk.
Not on the LS...best way to get this from the back seat into the trunk?
It is very cold up here in WI and this week, I found that the trunk lid would not power open. It would unlatch and then just sit there. There was no ice in the way and it would power down normally. When parked in the garage overnight it was ok but at work at the end of the day it would not do its thing.
View 2 RepliesI just picked up 2007 LS460. I used the remote to open the trunk, but can't use it to close the trunk. Can only close by pressing the button on the trunk to close. When i press close on the remote, it beeps, but does not do anything.
View 7 RepliesSo today I walk out Walmart getting ready to put some groceries in my trunk and it won't open. It beeps... But will not open. I've tried the button on both the remote and inside the car. Hell I even took a long stick and went through the middle of the back seat and pulled the trunk release inside the trunk lid.. And it still won't open.... No I did not touch the trunk cancel button in the glove. All it does is beeps. It won't open.
View 14 RepliesSo I had opportunity to drive a Buick Lacrosse. When I popped the trunk, it sprung open all the way which my Lexus does not do. While the rest of that Lacrosse was garbage, I really liked that the trunk did that. Especially when your hands are full. Am I whining enough yet? So this is normal right?

View 3 RepliesLast Sunday I packed the trunk of 2007 LS 460 full. When I closed the trunk a strap from a backpack became jammed into the trunk lock. The trunk would not open with either the key or the internal release. I called Lexus Road side support and they told me to go to a dealer. The dealer was able to open the trunk by disconnecting the battery for 10 seconds. After reconnecting the battery, they releasing the trunk using the internal release while another person pushed down on the lid. This took all of 10 minutes. None of these instructions are in the TIS database.

I'm wondering if anyone tapped the switch in the rear and run the wire to the front & put a switch there so we can close it from inside. Sometimes we accidentally open the trunk and have to run out to close it.
View 14 RepliesWhen I push the button or use the fob to open the trunk, it opens but the trunk lid does not pop up. I have to pull it up manually. Is there some trick I'm missing? I skimmed the manual but didn't find anything.
I found my answer. Apparently they don't pop open on the older models, which is ridiculous. They started putting that option on cars years ago! Unbelievable.
I have a 2007 ES350 and my trunk decided to stay shut today, right when I arrived at work with stuff in the trunk.... The keyfob doesn't work, the button on the trunk doesn't work and the button inside the car doesn't work.
There is no clicking sound, it doesn't seem to be moving the switch. I can open the trunk using a long stick and pulling the emergency lever. I have checked the valet and that is not the problem.
I have disconnected the battery multiple times. Apart from losing all my settings this did not work for trunk issue. I pulled the fusebox and don't see a "trunk release" fuse. I see a fuel OPN but no trunk..... My fuel door works fine. I am going to check every fuse after I get off work.

I used the physical key in the trunk and hear it unlock but the trunk will not open.. seems jammed or something like the auto-close (you manually shut the trunk lid but the last inch or so it locks it down automatically) feature will not disengage...
My ES350 trunk and fuel door will not open. The problem started out with me addressing the "Check SONAR" issue where all of my rear SONAR sensors weren't working. This issue with the SONAR working intermittently has been an issue now for about 8 months. Anyway so I had read somewhere to check under the front right passenger footwell and I did. With the car in ON mode (engine not running) I tried to disconnect each of the harnesses from the plugs one at a time so that I could isolate the harness that controlled the sonar.
Anyway I plugged everything back in and now the trunk won't release either from the Keyfob, or from the interior. The fuel door also won't release either and I've already tried the Valet button to no effect. I'm wondering if the computer that handles the trunk or whatnot got deactivated from the other computers and is no longer talking to it or something to that effect. I'm hoping I just blew a fuse but otherwise I just don't know how to proceed from here. It sucks this car has no way to open the trunk with a key, I think that was a huge oversight. I also cannot open the trunk by opening the pass through because the internal trunk release cable was broken by my dad several years ago and was never repaired.

Battery is new. Also there is some another issue, didn't look it yet, one of the plate lamp is not working while trunk is closed. When you lift up your trunk it will begin work, when you close - no work.I assume there is some wire connection problem, but how it might affect the opening a trunk?
I have a 2008 Passat Komfort. About 2 weeks ago I went to open the trunk and nothing happened. Tried using the button next to the gas door open and still nothing, remote doesn't work, button doesn't work neither does pushing the emblem. I have tried both sets of keys and nothing.
View 4 RepliesI recently had a remote starter (AutoMate) installed in my 2008 LS460. The remote starter works great but when I open the car door the engine shuts off. I then need to restart by pressing the START button on the dashboard. Is this a safety issue or is this something that can be avoided?
View 8 RepliesMy trunk will open with the FOB and cabin switch.......it will start to open, then reach about 2/3 open and then stops and closes hard. I have a custom interior panel that may be too much weight for the lid, but even when I assist it going up, it still stops and closes hard.
Is there a way to either manually override the auto open/close, or change the sensitivity of the auto close actuator?
I'm having a problem trying to troubleshoot the warning buzzer circuit. Normally,the warning buzzer beeps twice when the trunk begins to open. It will also beep twice when you press the button to close the trunk. Yesterday I noticed that the warning no longer sounds when i open the trunk, but still beeps when i close the trunk. I examined he trunk closer, but couldn't find the buzzer or an activator for the beep generator. The service manual was worthless.
