View 17 RepliesOn rapid acceleration from standing start-- RC- F does not have a smooth transition. Tires jump and shake for half a second before car has even acceleration. Even with traction control turned off this happens. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT ????
View 14 RepliesI bought a 2015 camry xse v6 and it is awesome. There is a clicking/popping noise (mostly popping) coming from the dashboard or the area of middle of the dashboard were the radio and ac controls are. I took it to the dealership but they couldn't figure out the problem, one of the workers told me it might be that the plastic needs to loosen up and to keep on driving it. It does it more often when it is hot outside and it is really annoying.
View 14 RepliesSo the problem is that when I turn fairly sharp I can feel the front tires grabbing and slipping a bit, especially on wet roads. I have the car at the dealership for the first scheduled maintenance and asked them to look at that. I know that 4wd vehicles can do this grab and slip because the tires rotate differently when engaged and turning tightly. The issue is that I never felt this in my EVO at all.
View 2 RepliesFaint humming/whistling noise coming from the drivings side of the motor. I can hear it when I put my head next to the drivers wheel well, and most certainly from that side of the motor when the hood is popped. It's not super loud, but it is noticeable. I know we have Direct injection motors, so I know that ticking is completely normal. Am I overlooking this and being paranoid? Car has 2100 miles on it. I don't know if it was there when brand new.
View 1 RepliesI bought a 2015 ES350 in August and have a couple of weird noises.
First is what sounds like either door rubber seal on body rubber seal or window on rubber seal noise over certain types of bumps. Is this common? I can live with this until I bring it in for its first service, but it might be a simple fix I can do.
The second is more of a concern. When I'm moving slowly over an angled surface like a driveway that might cause some "twist" of the car, there can be a loud pop sound. Since it does not happen very often, it is very difficult to locate, and I'm sure its one of those things the dealer service department will never hear. When it happened over the weekend, it almost sounded like it was coming from the roof. This morning, it sounded like it might have come from the rear driver side door, but it is hard to tell.
I noticed recently that my car started this popping noise when braking in reverse gear. I never ran over anything and babied it for all the 6000 miles it has on the ODO. 2015 Camry
View 4 RepliesI just can't get my 2007 to drive like a Lexus. At 75-85 I get a vibration. I've had one rim worked on. They said it was bent. So they fixed that and I STILL get a vibration in the steering and in the seat.
I've had the tires balanced by a Lexus dealer. That worked quite a bit, but it still vibrates. Where to take this car?
While driving at about 80mph today the rear of my R started popping. Felt like I had a flat tire. It stopped and started again. Once I got off the freeway it started to sound like I was dragging a muffler. I pulled over and everything looked fine. I drove home with a screeching/grinding type noise. You can also hear it when I put it in reverse. What is this? Is it ok to drive it to the dealership about 20 miles away?
View 18 RepliesWas driving when I heard a pop n my boost dropped. Normally run 17 psi but my boost gauge is now only reading it's pushing 4psi. There is no smoke coming out my exhaust or anything, when I had it scanned it read it was a bad pressure sensor in the inter cooler so I replaced the sensor cleared the code took it for a drive n the same thing happened...check engine light came back on n still running like crap.
View 5 RepliesI drive a 1997 dodge Dakota 5.2l 5 speed manual 4wd and recently it started making a really aggressive banging or popping noise while I was driving, it also made the truck bounce up and down a little bit and I could feel the shifter move up and down while this was happening. So I went underneath and discovered my transmission mount was out so I changed that and as well I changed a few u joints. One thing i noticed while I was replacing u joints was that when I had the front drive shaft off the whole problem was reduced to just a minor popping noise but once I slapped back on the front drive shaft it all came back. Another problem that is occurring because all of this is that when I tried to use the 4wd in 4 hi it just kicked it out of 4hi but in 4 lo it would stay in but all the problems were still there. The only time it doesn't do anything is when I am already rolling and I put the 4wd selector in neutral to disengage the drive shafts.
I have asked a few different people their opinions and I get different answers, someone thought it could be something to do with the steering shaft or intermediate steering shaft but I think that is not the correct diagnostic. Another one of my buddies suggested that it might be a stretched chain or gear in the transfer case that is causing it.
My car has been making a loud droning noise that sounds like I am driving a jeep with some mud tires on it, when I turn to the left it gets smoother and when I turn to the right it gets louder.
I assume it is the wheel bearings. Unfortunately I now live in an apartment with no garage and no tools so it is a pain to check. My question is, what do I need if it is in fact the rear wheel bearings? The whole assembly is easiest I assume?
This morning I started my day as usual, remote started the car via the app to warm her up. I had my ac/heat and heated seats on as usual, everything else was off. After I got into the car I started it up and as I shifted out of park it immediately stalled. I thought I had taken my foot off the brake too quick and restarted the car no problem.
I pulled out of my driveway in reverse and as soon as I went to shift into drive the car stalled again. both times I maintained electricity but engine went dead. I restarted the vehicle and everything was fine for my 15 minute drive. The only message on the dash was to shift back into P OR N.
GM ignition recall debacle immediately popped into my head. My car only has 900 miles on it.
I just bought a 09 Corolla S a month ago. In the last few days I've been hearing a popping/knocking noise while I'm driving. It sounds like it is coming from one of the wheels but which one. It usually happens once I decelerate or driving at low speeds. If I brake the noise will stop. The rhythm of the noise doesn't seem to be consistent with speed I'm driving. It happens more often on bumpy roads but it still happens on smooth roads. I'm wondering what are the possible problems that are could cause this?
I don't know if this would relate to the sounds I mentioned but when I bought this car it had brake problems. It would grind pretty loud. The dealership ended up replacing new rear drums. So when I drove it home everything sounded good for about a week. The grinding noise came back and after I sprayed some brake cleaner it went away for a few days. I'm assuming thats what the dealership did to hide the noise. I went ahead and changed the front pads and that worked for a week or so...but the grinding noise is back. I was about to change my rotors this weekend when the popping/knocking sound I mentioned above started happening.

View 7 RepliesMy car makes a grinding/popping noise when driving that worsens when I go over bumps and that completely stops if I even touch the brakes. When I accelerate, the noise speeds up as well. I took it to a mechanic about three months ago and he said it was a loose bumper and that he secured it. After leaving, the noise got louder and happened more often. Sometimes the noise doesn't happen, while other times it does. My dad changed my front brake pads about a month ago so it can't be those. Is it possible that it is still my bumper making the noise? If so, I don't understand why it would stop when I brake.

View 12 RepliesMaybe it's because I've been away for two weeks and out of the RC, but when I drove for the first time in a while the car seems like it's noticeably bouncy on relatively smooth roads.
Again it could be my break from driving it. I mostly drive on Sport+ mode.
