Sensors are much more sensitive when it rains or snows?
So in dry weather I would not get any beeps until the distance between a car in front of me lets say a few feet. In rainy/snowy weather, I am getting beeps when the distance is like 10 ft.
Wondering if that increased sensitivity is normal and by design, or take her to the dealer while still under wtty.
Another issue I have had for at least a year is when driving in rain for awhile, then gently come to stop, get a noise that shouldn't be there and whole car vibrates. Noticed about a year ago when driving on interstate, raining something terrible, been going several hours and stopped for gas. The whole car shook while slowing down.
Also made a terrible noise and no it was nothing to do with ABS, nothing was locking up and it was driving at 30 mph and stopping at a very slow pace. It was not the ABS noise. Actually didn't want to press brake pedal hard as vibration and noise got worse the more you pressed. I figured pads must be wet. Eventually it stops and all was fine, figured they dried. No I didn't go through any water puddles, just interstate driving in rain for long period of time. Pads are in good shape as far as ware goes.
I just forgot about it until it happen again the other day when hardly any rain and short drive in town. Question is, never had it on other cars/truck. My truck I can take through the low water bridge and don't experience any brake issues, don't take car through low water bridge.
My wife has a 2012 ES-350 with the Parking Assist feature but NO NAVIGATION. You have to get within about 2-3 feet of an object before the warning (visual and audible) detects an object in front or the year of the car. Can the "Sensitivity" be adjusted up so it will recognize a danger long before 2-3 feet ? My LS-460 has a Sensitivity Setting in The GPS settings but since her car does not have GPS, I don't know how to adjust the sensitivity to give her more warning of getting too close to another car or object. How to do this ?

I have had the battery charged 2 times this month.I have had this same problem last year calling motor clubs to charge my battery. My car is snowed in and shovel is stuck in my trunk because it will not open because my car wont start. I do not even know if there is a warrantee on the battery ...it may be a used battery.
View 7 RepliesIt has been very cold and snowy recently. This morning when I left for work it was about -6 degrees F. After about 15 miles into a 55 mile trip down a snow free road with a 70 mph speed limit I had an unusual experience. Cruise is set at 75 (based on GPS), had to slow down to negotiate around a couple of triple trailer trucks. When I selected resume with the cruise, the engine revved and then cut in and out as it tried to accelerate to 70 mph.
No trouble lights or dashboard warnings. I turned off the cruise, and feathered the throttle and edged back to 75 mph, and then reset cruise. I rolled down the road for another 10 without issue. I again tried to duplicate the problem and I was unable to reproduce the engine cut out. When it malfunctioned, it felt as if the ignition was switched on and off. What might cause this erratic engine behavior?
This is the first snowy winter that my car is going through. Often times, especially when parking alongside the street, my car gets stuck. So I usually try the reverse and forward motions couple times and most of the times I'm able to get out of the snow. But while doing so, sometimes the engine reaches high rpm because of no traction. And when i get stuck a lot i usually have to do this a few times to get unstuck.
Today for the first time, after a terrible 20 minutes of trying to leave my works parking lot, some errors came up on the screen for just a bit. The brake error system, airbag system, tire sensor flashing, steering wheel symbol, and i think one other error but just do not remember which. About a min or 2 after that i got out of the parking lot on a regular road with less snow and while parked at the light all the error symbols went away besides the airbag one, which eventually went out when i got home.
What might have caused it or if its a serious issue or not. And also, is getting the engine to high rpms when trying to get unstuck in snow piles bad or does it eventually mess it up? Just getting tired of this snow.
just got the car drove over 1000 miles without issue. Then it rained a few days, could be unrelated. Drove a quarter mile and it all went to ... Finished the 3 miles and it wouldn't start. During said trip red triangle engine and exclamation mark yellow haunted to screen. Turned off the AC to listen. No strange noise. I believe only the ice was running, no hybrid. Regen was working. Current lights red triangle, yellow exclamation, brake, engine, abs, red car with exclaim, anti skid, will go into neutral. Power button will not turn green just amber. Battery 12.4. Hybrid almost full, inverter pump working. No thrown codes under info 3 seconds slash lights on off 3 times. Emv says ok. Brake lights working.

There is a "wheel of fortune" clicking noise coming from the front of the car under the following conditions:
- the car is in motion in reverse (e.g. backing up when parking) with steering wheel cranked (near) full left or right
- Happens only on rainy days (I've noticed it a few days back, and maybe 2 weeks prior to that)
The clicking sound isn't there when weather is dry or when I am backing up straight
ASL does not keep up with increased noise when reaching highway speeds?
View 11 RepliesI have an 06 Limited. The headlights have an auto feature so that they turn on in the night time. Well, how to change the sensitivity of the light sensor? Its always dark and cloudy where i live so i almost always want my lights on, but its not dark enough for the sensor. I know i can take it into the dealership to have it adjusted, but im curious to know how it is done. Also on a side note, is there a way to easily mute the audio from the steering wheel? it turns down the volume quite slow when holding the button down.
View 3 RepliesI've had my '09 ES 350 for a few months now. I am disappointed in the low volume of parking sensor alert. The volume is all the way up and the switch is on. Expecting it to be louder as I am or do I have a faulty "speaker"? I'll be going to the dealer next month for service and will get their opinion at that time.

It has happened several times, all but once when it was raining. On that one occasion, the sun was shining. It happened again today while it was raining, and continued to sound after the rain had stopped, but the road was still wet.
What could be causing this to happen, and how can it be prevented. I have decided to fit an ON-OFF switch, if the problem cannot be solved conventionally.
I have a 2008 LS. The buzzer for my front parking assist sensors is significantly louder than when the buzzer sounds for the rear sensors. I have adjusted the buzzer volume to the loudest position (#5), but the volume of the buzzer when the rear sensors activate is still much lower than for the front sensors.
The indicators on the nav screen for all the sensors are working properly. Do you find the volume is different between the front and rear sensors or do I have a problem?
I am asking because I inadvertently backed out of a driveway into a car that was parked directly across the street. I do not recall hearing the sensor sound before I hit the other car. At the time, my sensor volume was set on #3. When I checked, I could barely hear the buzzer from the rear sensors, but could clearly hear the buzzer from the front sensors. Resetting the buzzer volume to #5 has worked a bit, but I still wish the buzzer for the rear was louder.

When it snows and I am at a stop sign or red light the FRONT system starts beeping...
And there are no cars in front of me
Any ls600hl owner experienced this? --> When the car is left on acc for a while (all electrics system online without the engine running - or if the car is started with radio only then shut off a few time) the parking sensor suddenly start beeping non stop. If you shut down the car then the steering wheel won't go back into neutral position.
If you try to start the car (along the engine) the car does a kind a "air deflating" sound and won't start (don't seems to be the suspension thought). Then the light on the Mark Levinson radio start flashing intermittently and a warning about the SRS is showing telling you to go to the dealer to have the car inspected.
If you wait a few minutes and start the car again it will then start normally without problems and won't display the SRS warning anymore. This is my second 2008 ls600h with the executive trim and both did this so this seems to be some kind of design flawn.
I new 2015 Elantra LTD. has terribly grabby brakes in a certain scenario. That scenario is, it is rainy or wet, and I'm going very slowly, like in a parking lot. When I touch the brake pedal very lightly, the car stops abruptly! And I mean abruptly. As quick as the car comes to a halt, and not intended to, I suspect it is the front brakes. Not sure if it is the new brake pads acting peculiar, or some other issue. But, the brake grabbing problem isn't present when its dry and going slow, or when I'm going normal speeds when its wet.

View 14 RepliesMy wife has a 2010 RX-350 which had to have the transmission replaced a few weeks ago. She has run into an issue when it's cold that the car seems to be stuck in neutral as she applies the gas and it just creeps. This most recent time, the "Check Engine" light came on the message "Check AWD" on the dash. Lexus says they can't find anything wrong except slightly low Transmission Fluid.
View 4 RepliesI notice in the service/diagnostic menu, there is a place to change the voice recognition (handsfree) settings. It appears to involve recording something (your voice, maybe?), since it has the same kind of record and stop buttons you see on YouTube or in WMP, etc.
How to adjust the microphone sensitivity using this diagnostic?
