Passat (B5) :: 2000 V6 - Shifting With Trans Gets Hot (25-30 Min Run Time) And Slips

I just picked up a 2000 v6 passat with an automatic trans. I am new to passats, esp with autos. The cars transmission is having problems shifting with the trans gets hot (25-30 min run time) and slips. What is the trans code for this car and is it FWD or AWD? It has 220k, and the engine runs great. It was sorta an impulse buy, I plan on flipping it so hopefully tis a good investment. Any common things I should be aware of so I can get it tip top shape to sell it?

Trans Sport :: 3t40 - Trans Slips When In Reverse Under Load?

If I press the gas a little hard in drive, my tires squeal but if I'm in reverse I can feel a slipping in the trans. If I try to back a trailer up an inclined driveway, it won't go, the trans slips. I have no crud in the pan. I've replaced the reverse boost valve. I installed a Trans-Go kit which is suppose to eliminate the reverse slip but it hasn't worked. Everything else works just fine and my fluid is red. I have engine braking in 2nd and 1st. The van backs up fine, it just does this in reverse under load.

Ford - Explorer :: 5R55W Rebuild Trans Taking A Long Time Shifting From 2nd To 3rd

Finally finished rebuilding my 5R55W transmission and have it back in the 2002 Explorer. Reverse works good, Drive works great, but I am having problems with it wanting to take a long time shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Have to let up on the accelerator in order for it to go into 3rd.

Goes into 3rd hard! 4th gear and 5th gear are finally back. I rebuilt it because I didn't have overdrive. When I didn't have overdrive, it would also take a long time to shift into 3rd and was hard.

Checked codes and am getting a "pending" P0745. Pressure Control Solenoid "A". What I need to start with?

my toyota solara v6 SE 2000 has as i think trans problem it won't reverse yesterday as i took it last week to semeone to do engine oil change but instead he drop off the trans oil and add more oil to the engine , and as i don't know i drove it like 1/2 mile with no trans fluid , we figured out that late ! i keept shifting between D & R, 2 & L IT ALWAYS GO FORWARD and no more reverse, what's going on ? before i replace the trans !?

2001 VR6 owner. I'm looking at a Jetta currently that I suspect has a trans problem. Current Owner was bounced around shops being told it was a timing chain issue causing it to rev around 50-55 mph. Now I know that is definitely not it.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Overheating Constantly - Car Won't Go In Reverse And Has Hard Time Shifting Sometimes

I have a 2003 Accent and it has been over heating constantly for about 5 months. After it started, we replaced the main radiator hose, thermostat, radiator cap AND a head and head gasket. It worked for about 2 weeks and then over heated again. It seems like there is too much pressure somewhere because the lid for my reservoir shoots off and all the coolant comes out. I'm just not sure where to look for a clog since it is coming out of the reservoir. It also recently started having transmission problems(?) or that is what I think it is... It won't go in reverse and has a hard time shifting sometimes. I'm not sure if it could be related or if it is the tranny also.

Silverado :: 2003 4L60e Trans Slips When Upshift 2nd To 3rd?

Truck has 222000 miles on it. With gentle acceleration not noticeable, with maybe half throttle rpms increase for say one second or two and then shifts smoothly into third, However at full throttle with the shift coming at 55 mph or so, it shifts perfectly with no slip. It also acts the same manually. I had asked my mechanic about changing the fluid and if it could fix the problem, he said, "well it could work or hurt it." After thinking about it, we decided to change the fluid. He did a full flush and cleaned out the pan which had lots of sludge in it but no pieces of metal in it that would seem to indicate a major internal problem. It doesn't seem to have made it much worse if at all, but did not fix it.

Ford - Explorer :: 2004 - Trans Slips In Between Second And Third Gear

My wifes 04 explorer 4.0 4x4 slips in between second and third gear and you cannot manually shift the gearshift below 3rd gear. I assumed tranny was going out but was told that it could be the transmission control solenoid or the transmission control switch (i think they are the same thing). I read that the most common symptom of this going bad is a slip between second and third gear. Haven't checked codes but will when i get home to see what it comes up with. This is the messed up model where you have to add fluid underneath through the drain plug. Was going to change fluid and add lucas to it to see if it remedies the problem.

Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Trans Shifts Hard And Slips A Little From Third To Fourth

I have a 2002 Elantra GLS with the 4 speed auto and in the mornings or after sitting in lot at work for 9 hours, the trans shifts hard from second to third (almost as if it has a shift kit) and slips a little from third to fourth. The TPS was changed once and that seemed to eliminate problems at the 26K mark. I have 109K on it now and at around 80k took it in to the dealer with the receipt for the same complaint and what was done the first time. Dealer kept overnight and said there were no problems. I do know from having a performance TH350 built that the harder a trans shifts (up to a point) the longer it will last due to less friction on clutches and bands.

Passat (B6) :: Hard Time Shifting Fast From 1st To 2nd When Accelerating

Was having a hard time shifting fast from 1st to 2nd when accelerating hard, it was like something was blocking the 2nd gear gate, same thing sometimes when downshifing fast from 6th to 5th.

After JT recommending it here, I installed the Neuspeed torque arm insert. Used a scissor jack on the left front side (it has a wide base), got under the car from the front bumper passenger side. 21mm bolt was tight, but got it out with a regular length 1/2 inch socket bar. Insert was hard to get in (even after spraying silicone on it), finally just sprayed silicone into the existing bushing and the insert slipped right in.

First test drive really made it easy to shift from 1st to 2nd under hard acceleration only a slight bump when entering the 2nd gear gate, downshifing was smooth too. Down side? none that I noticed, no vibration.

Ford Transmission :: 2006 - 4R75E Trans Slips In Forward Gears?

2006 f150 4x4 4R75E trans slipping in forward gears, reverse is ok. I dropped pan and it was clean. I dropped valve body and found OD servo shaft clip broken, the large snapring was I fine and in place. It allowed the inner shaft to float up and down. Would this cause my forward gears to slip or do I have a bigger problem?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Zf-6 Trans - Slips Under Heavy Acceleration In 6th Gear?

Ok, my clutch has been giving me trouble for a little bit and I'm almost positive that I have a bent release fork. It also slips under heavy acceleration in 6th gear. I am planning on doing a clutch, compete with flywheel and release fork and a new rear main seal. My problem is, here within the last couple of days the trans would pop out of 4th gear if I was just coasting. It has been getting noisy over the last few weeks also. I'm no manual tyranny expert, but this is making me think I'm gonna need to have it rebuilt.

Ford Transmission :: Slips Occasionally When Shifting Under Light And Moderate Throttle

The C6 in my truck is acting odd.. its into drive by 17 to 21mph under light throttle and under moderate throttle it slips occasionally when shifting, the 460 had a fuel spurting motorcraft on it, had to swap that for an edelbrock 1406 to drive it. The kickdown is there but setup for another truck. I don't know if the c6 has a vacume modulator or if its all controlled through the kickdown rod.. it does need a fluid an filter change that's gonna happen this week.. this trans just has me leery with the soft shifts.. its in 2nd almost immediately after takeoff....

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Transmission Slips From Cold Start / Shifting Hard From 1st To 2nd Gears

I've had 2 Elantra 2012 models 1 a gls the second a limited. As far as transmission issues both Elantra's from a cold start after allowing RPM's to idle down before taking off they both have started shifting hard going from 1st to second gear 1st car was around 8-9 k miles now 2nd started at 3 k miles. Since owning 2 cars same make same year same transmission and many times to dealer 1st car ended with Transmission replaced 2nd has now started doing the same thing they reset adaptive and next day did it again its now back at dealer waiting for them to diagnose again.

Passat (B5) :: 2000 - Transmission Jump / Harsh Shifting

I have the 2000 passat 1.8L 4 cylinder with the tiptronic shifting. The car has been shifting less smoothly both upshifting and down. I have noticed that if you are going fast and slow suddenly, say for a light and the downshifting does not go smoothly the vehicle can lurch/jump even if the brakes are firmly applied.

What may be causing this issue. I recently sold my MKIV which was a great car and we are now starting to have small problems with this passat with 104,000 miles on it. It does not intuitively feel that the tranny is worked over yet, but I would like to avoid any expensive repairs/replacement. I have done everything from suspension, door replacement, clutches and timing belts on other vw's. So I am hoping to tackle this myself.

I changed the bulb in my driver side brake light - routine -done a zillion bulb changes on my car. This time however the dashboard lights up every time I brake!! What gives? Something to do with the brake pedal triggering the brake light button in the footwell area under the dash? Its a 2000 Passat 1.8T sedan - manual tranny.

Passat (B5) :: 2000 - Not Starting After Only Being Turned Off For A Short Period Of Time

Was having some issues with my 2000 Passat not starting after only being turned off for a short period of time (long periods of time no problem). My check engine light came was on along with the Emissions Workshop message in the display. I took it in and had it serviced at my local repair shop. They said it was something with a temperature gauge or something to that effect that was causing it to lose a temp reading. Anyways, after the repair the car starts fine, runs great, the check engine light went off and so did the Emissions Workshop display. Then a few days later it came back on...still not having any issues with it starting but what's going on??

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2002 GL Transmission Only Slips While OD Is On

My tcm is reading codes p707, p734, p732, p745, p1529. Little information ive gathered is that my transmission only slips while OD is on and it only slips the first time it tries to reach 2nd and 4th gears after it slips the rest of the drive it shifts fine it also feels sluggish in OD as far as acceleration. I'd like to solve it with out replacing the tranny cause.

I just got a 2000 passat wagon with a 1.8t and tiptronic transmission. The questions is when it is cold the transmission has a hard time to start driving. But as soon as it is warm it drives great. It is throwing a check engine code havent checked it yet.

Sometimes my car, a 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon with 115k miles, when stopped in drive will slip into neutral. It is an automatic and is still in drive when this happens. It does not happen on a consistent basis. It seems to happen more often when it is either wet outside or after it has rained. However, it does happen when the sun is shining brightly too. Sometimes when I am driving, there does feel as though there is a delay when I press on the gas almost as though it needed to kick itself into gear. Any thoughts on what this might be and why this is happening? It has been happening since last fall.

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Transmission Slips To About 2000 RPM And Then A Thud In First Gear

So I just purchased an 07 gs350 104,000miles. Drove fine during test drive. Got it home (private party) and so far 3 times in 2 days, pulling away from a stop light throttle. Car moves forward but transmission slips to about 2000rpm and then a thud- as it re-engauges into I think first gear. Engine coolant was low (heater did not work), so I refilled. Did not overheat according to gauge. Tried resetting battery. Cannot see any sort of leak under car.
