Ok, I just started to notice that when Im driving at night, the display for my ac/heater panel almost quickly turns off and then back on. It is fast enough that I thought it was me. Last night I sat and watched it for a few min and it stopped "glowing" for a split second then went back to normal.

The 2nd hand multi-information display panel is from a 2004 RX330 and what are the socket behind the display panel meant for.
what is the 4 socket connectors as indicated in the red circle in the image should be connected to?
When I turn on the heater on at any temp and fan setting the A/C automatically turns on (compressor and condensor fan turns on) . Engine temp comes up and stays at 190. I can turn up the heat to HI and still cold air blows. All buttons and LEDs work on the climatronic, is it the climatronic that is bad?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2000 accord and the control panel for the AC/heater keeps flashing on and off. When it is off (no lights lit up) it doesn't respond when you push the buttons and semi warm air comes out when I turn the AC on. Randomly, the lights will come back on and it will again be responsive. It usually happens (going on and off randomly) for the first few minutes of turning the car on, but will then stay on.
View 5 RepliesUnfortunately my car Heater A/C Control Panel LCD is broken, I mean only the screen. I accidentally hit the screen while I was pulling my guitar from the back seat .It shows many black lines that are almost covering the whole LCD!! everything is working fine except nothing can be seen on the screen.
I was told that I must buy the whole panel and it is really costly. I thought maybe I can replace only the screen? Is it possible? Or can I get any other car LCD and fix it into this panel??
The heater/AC control panel does not turn-on automatically after the engine is started occasionally, during this time none of the buttons are working and blank display. The only way I can get it turn back on is re-starting the engine, sometime it takes more than 1 re-start.
I thought the relay ? or the signal driving the relay has something to do with it. Where is the relay for the Heater/AL is located ?
My climate control dial lights have stopped working for some odd reason.. They dont light up anymore.
I checked the fuses, they all seem to be ok (is there even a fuse for these lights?) How do i go about fixing this problem?
I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 240000 miles on the clock. Words cannot describe how impressed I am by this car. However, yesterday I noticed that the selector switch where one chooses to direct the air output has failed me. It seems to be stuck in the windshield defrost setting, unable to redirect the airflow to anywhere else. I am however still able to control the temperature as well as A/C settings. The switch felt strangely 'limp' almost as though it is no longer connected to whatever engineering or witchcraft it is attached to behind the control panel. What are your thoughts on this? Could it be as simple as some mechanical linkage that has snapped off? Just to recap: blower motor, heat and A/C are not affected by this.

Usually I'm listening to Pandora, and the whole display audio system turns off and reboots. This issue occurs randomly, not when I'm interacting with the menu system or anything.
View 19 RepliesThis '15 Avalon I bought recently tries to do too many things automatically that bothers me. I've managed to turn off some of them, but still have the AC/Heater issue of turning itself on every time I use the car.
When I notice it's on - I'll turn it off - and yet awhile later I'll notice it's on again.
How to turn that automatic feature off?
Chevy Silverado.. The display of heat, location of air flow, temperature and fan flickers and changes on its own. Sometimes it works fine and blows out nice warm air. Other times it goes out completely and I have no control over any of it. It will just blow cold air. If I turn the head lights on it sometimes makes it go out completely. I have had the relay switch changed out and that was not the problem.
View 5 RepliesSo warming up around here and and my fiance brings to my attention that the AC is not working in her GS. I fumbled around a bit and found that the fuse in engine compartment is good, ac light does illuminate in climate display, freon is at approx 80psi on low side, and the air does in fact never get the least bit cool. It seems as though the compressor never turns on, now I know that these cars wont kick on if they sense low pressure in the system but it is full.... also swapped ac relay out to no avail
View 1 RepliesProblem solved- update! Found a main vacuum line, (white one), broken right above where the oil filler tube is. I guess if the plenum door is not in the proper position, it screws with the fan? Works like a champ now even with 442,000 miles on this van! --- 1997 aerostar, 3.0. Doesn't matter what I'm using, vent, heater, or AC. When I have the fan switch "on", The fan will shut off, then turn back on whenever it feels like. I've tried turning the controls on and off in any and all ways, and still random fan goes on-off when it's turned on. Is there a sensor somewhere that could cause this? Or what?
View 6 RepliesSo after the passat has tried to eat its own gearbox i've been having more troubles with the EGR but only on a long run so i've left it alone.
At 6:30 this morning i just got off the motorway and the motor stopped and started again quickly. After the lights it went dead and i rolled to a stop in the middle of the road. The car would not start so i pushed it to the side and started to try and get it going. The dash was reporting parking brake error and ESC error but it would not turn over at all. I tried loads of time and left it for 5 mins but nothing. Its been recovered to the garage again now.
I ran it through VCDS and got a bunch of errors, the common one coming up was 01314 - Engine control Module (004 - no signal/communication) and two other under parking brake ECM and 03182 - Clutch Position Sensor (G476) (010 open or short to Plus)
I've done some googling and been back to check the fuses (which there is no map for!) and found nothing.
I have a problem in my Touareg 2005 R5 TDI, my heater blower works fine while ignition on. When I start the engine, blower starts for a moment and then stops .This problem happened first time before 2 months and suddenly blower worked fine till today.Now i have the same problem.I tried to replace the blower motor but nothing changed.
View 1 Repliesok i have a 1.8T atw passat 2000. when boost 18 psi my car starts to buck and then my psi goes down to 10 really quickly like something is being cut off. i also have a p0301 misfire in cylinder 1. I switched my ignition coils around and replaced one and i also changed my spark plugs(not the cheap autoparts store kind). i checked my vacuum hoses and no tears. i put fuel injector cleaner in my tank when i filled up ( two bottles). it might be my fuel injectors but that would be too easy to fix. So I am thinking its something mechanical. I want to know what could be wrong mechanically. My friend thinks could it be a blown head gasket. is this true?
View 2 RepliesI recently bought a '99 Passat, 3.0l, that is lowered with 19" wheels and low profile tires. The front tires are a little lower profile than the rear ones, if that matters??? I noticed that when I cruise around a corner, slightly quicker then normal, the ASR light comes on and seems to cut the motor. The dealer says that its because of the oversized tires and wheels. Does that make sense? Any way to adjust that or fix this issue? This car will go to my daughter, so I don't want to cause her to get into an accident.

The car quickly shutting off right after starting while still in Park.
It does not do it all the time, but about every 3rd of 4th start attempt it will do this. If I step on the accelerator, I can avoid the car from shutting off.
The car has 62k miles and spark plugs were replaced at 50k.
My car has about 37k on it; and while the front pads look to be about 50% worn; the rears look like they are closer to 90%. Is this normal? The car is also sluggish while braking especially when the engine is being auto-revved to keep the system voltage up (a known problem). It also seems that the car will step into ABS lock-up mode too soon in a panic stop situation; which might also indicate that the brake system is biasing too much power to the rears; too little to the fronts.
I've never had a car wear the rear brakes more rapidly than the fronts; usually the rears are much more lightly utilized to reduce the tendency to skid. Is there any way to adjust brake bias? I'm getting ready to change rear pads and flush brake fluid.
