Unfortunately the 2009 e48 does not match in either wire color or pin location. Any wiring diagram for the 2009 e48 junction, or another location where I can find the reverse wire?
View 2 RepliesI bought a new dash cam for the 2012 TCH. I've placed it in front of the rear view mirror and want to run the power cable to the fuse box. I don't want to wire it in to the light or homelink since those are "hot" all the time, and I want my dashcam powered completely off when the car is stopped (I have a device I can wire in that enables it to stay on, but that device is way too big to fit in the car ceiling anyway).
Is it possible to run a wire up from the rearview mirror area, through the car ceiling, and down the windshield/front door post (where the curtain airbag is)? Obviously, I don't want to mess up the curtain airbag.
I installed a reverse camera to my new Pioneer in-dash nav head unit this morning. I wired (at the rear of the truck) the power signal lead to the reverse wire at the trailer connector. I also need to wire a reverse signal input into the back of the head unit. I really do not want to run a power lead from the rear of the truck to the cab. Is there a wire under the dash I can tap into, or could I use the wire going to the backup alarm that’s somewhere under the dash (if I can find it). 2010 F350 deisel, crew cab, 4WD, long bed.
View 9 RepliesI'm putting a new double din stereo w/ backup camera in my truck, I have everything wired except the violet/white wire (from the stereo) that needs to be hooked to a wire (on the truck) that will activate the camera when you put it in reverse. I cannot figure where this wire is on the 2012 for the life of me.
View 3 RepliesI noticed the other day that when i shift to R... the left and right rear view mirror pan out about 5 degrees in their respective direction. Normally when you shift to reverse the mirrors should tilt down. I have looked through all the settings and cannot find any customization options. How you can adjust the rear view mirrors to tilt down? I do not understand why they would pan out as it does nothing to assist you as you reverse.
View 7 RepliesI just got back from being gone awhile to find that my rear view camera has stopped working. I get a message that says "rear view camera system is currently unavailable" when I put the car in reverse.
The camera does come out like it should so I'm guessing it's something to do with wiring maybe a short or something. I have a 2014 RCD-510 with the camera input...
Is there a way to take the rear view camera input and add a DVD player and " trick" the screen to think it's in reverse so I can play a DVD on a no ml system .? But I can up on a great black on black 08 with low miles and decided to get it and try to figure out a way to do this later.

View 7 RepliesGetting the metal mirror base off the rest of the assembly? My mirror fell off the windshield, probably due to a poor glue job a few years ago when the windsheild was replaced. Now for the life of me, I can't get the black metal base off the rest of the mirror to glue it back on. It looks like there are a couple of small holes for a pin spanner, but I've tried that and nothing budges.

View 12 Replies'01 B5 V6 GLX wagon... Inside rear view mirror with auto-dim feature suddenly lost it's auto-dimming ness. Instead, the fluid that does the dimming kinda pools around in a random bubble-cloud within the glass and in various places within the mirror. It's distracting as heck.

I took it to the dealership to get a quote and they it would cost about $500 for a new rear view mirror. I was curios if there is a cheaper way to fix or if i could fix it myself.
