Passat (B6) :: APR93 - Every Time When Start The Car MIL Comes On

Installed the fully loaded APR software today. Used the security lockout to keep the car on 93 mode. The moment I left the shop my MIL came on. I unlocked the ECU, made sure I was in 93 mode, and reset the MIL with my cruise control stalk. The MIL went off. Then I turned the car on again and the MIL light instantly came back on. I sat there in the parking lot and called APR and they said "oh that is very common when you unlock the map for the MIL to come on and stay on, but it is very easy to reset the MIL." I found that answer to be interesting. We went over on the phone how to reset the MIL and the representative from APR said "don't be concerned with the MIL light it happens when you unlock it sometimes."
What do you think? I'm going in next week because the APR dealer needs to reload my programs (I wanted 91/93/100/stock) and they put 93/100/stock/valet on it instead. I have started the car over 10 times today and about half of those times the MIL will come on. Power delivery is very smooth, no flashing MIL to indicate misfires or anything. To be honest, what surprised me the most is when APR support said that is very common.

My 2006 FSi Passat is having problem starting every time I put gas in it. It starts fine at other times only hard after adding gas. What could be wrong?

This is weird, im having problem starting the car just after filling up my tank, this is the third time it happened to me, i have the engine light on, i want to scan it but im unable to cuz my abs module is bad, i drive a 98 passat 1.8T, Just clarified I'm only unable to start the car right after I fill my tank aftert that the car starts with no problem
i always use SUPER, the only way to start it is while turning the key hit the gas pedal making it go brum brum lol. But like i said i only have difficulties starting the car right after fueling after the car starts the car is fine, it starts every morning untill i visit the gas station again...

I've been suffering for this issue for quite a while. My passat 06 is experience a hard time to start up after sitting over night. The first attempt in the morning is always shaky. Then, it starts up okay during the day. Even like after driving 5 mins and I can restart it without any problem. But it's the first time of the day that troubles me.
And some history, my battery died completely like 2 months ago, and I replaced it with a Duracell. At first, it has no problem start up at all. But there was one day I forgot to turn of the lights and leaved my car over night.
The next morning, I was able to start it but with some difficulty. Since then, I have been experiencing hard times in starting up. Need to point out the issue? I'm really afraid to have a dead battery in a parking lot 1 hour away from my apartment again ..

Tried to start it, it just cranks for a long time, it can't even hold an idle. After 5 minutes of cranking and trying to get it running, it starts up just fine like there isn't even a problem. It just started to happen today. I have a 2004 v6 2.6 glx, completely stock.

I Just did a little work on my 2013, lowering springs, BBS rims and Kuhmo tires....
I now get a Check Tires warning every-time at start up.... Clearly it has to do w/ the lack of tire pressure monitors...
Can this error be whipped/cleared? OR do I need to get TPM's? OR do I live w/ it?

I just got a 2000 passat wagon with a 1.8t and tiptronic transmission. The questions is when it is cold the transmission has a hard time to start driving. But as soon as it is warm it drives great. It is throwing a check engine code havent checked it yet.

My '93 Honda Accord has developed a problem with starting and holding its idle. After the car has sat overnight or for several hours, it may be hard to start. (Sometimes it starts right away!)
It can take several minutes to start idling well or it may be fine in seconds. It's all very inconsistent.

My 97 Passats CEL stays on all the time. The shop I took it to told me that the computer was bad. I bought a new one and now the engine won't turn over. What could be a possible issue?

I've owned my passat 07 2.0t for 8 months now (less than 10k) and i've noticed a difference in performance.
I usually keep the car in D (instead of S) to save some gas. My car is taking an awful long time to accelerate, specially at the traffic lights. Much older cars and old drivers (grannys) pass me after the light turns to green (i'm always the last one to take off). The engine goes all to the way to 3k rpms making a loud noise (even with the windows up) as if it was @ redline. Eventually it catches up and the turbo kicks in and i can get a decent speed but it takes so much longer than before. I also noticed that while it's doing that i only get 5-6 mpg (according to the car's computer).

I've got an 2002 passat with 85,000 miles. The ac is not working all of the time, but all of a sudden the compressor comes on and it starts to cool again until I shut off the ac or turn the car off and then i can't get it to come back on and later it will come on again. I've checked the system and it's charged. Also when engaged, the clutch is spinning, which leaves me to believe that it may be the pressure switch. Whether low or high. Where the low or high pressure switch may be?

Passenger side headlight doesn't flicker or anything unusual but it just goes dead at one time then goes back on. For sure, something loose inside that does it. Bulb is still good.

B5.5 2001. When I am giving her gas you feel her stutter. But its not like a misfire stutter. Its more like a lose of power. Its almost like shes switching from boast to naturally aspirated. These stutters can also last a few seconds at a time. Where to start looking?

No codes, no obvious troubles other than, when I use the power window control on my 99 passat to control the driver side rear window, I have to hold the button down sometimes for 1 second, sometimes for 15 seconds before it actually moves. If I try to operate the window from the actual button on that door( the rear door), it works fine with no hesitation or sticking. No, the safety lock is not on. I am guessing it is something electronic but as there are no burnt fuses or damaged wires, I am left confused.

CEL light stays on for a few days, then will go off for a few, and vise versa. car doesn't run rough, but sometimes doesn't want to crank. can the purge valve cause that, and could it cause a misfire code? and how can i disconnect it, or what can i do to see if it will make a difference without the purge valve connected and working? BTW, what is a purge valve?

My B5 has all three brake lights coming on (including top highline brake light in estate model) when the headlights are turned on. When the brake is pressed, they all stay on and glow a bit brighter.. Is this normal?
When the headlights are not turned on, the brakes work ok with all three rear red lights only coming on when the brake pedal is pressed.

I have a 3.6L V6 2006 Passat and every time I accelerate, I hear this Tin-Can-like hollow noise from the engine amost like a rattle from the exhaust. Finally I was at the dealer today and I mentioned it. The mechanic came out to the car and could hear it as I revved the engine. We kind of isolated it to the FSI pump... there was also a very audible ticking noise from the engine like in the old days with valves.... He couldn't tell what's causing it?
Unfortunately they didn't have another used or client's V6 Passat VW on the lot to compare the noise to see if it is normal. Mine has 22,000 km on it. He also said a new one may not have it at first while the car is still new and tings tighter, but as one puts some mileage on it he thought the noise may start becoming louder. It makes the car feel like a cheap japanese car, rather than a nice tight engine noise one gets from a german car...
