Would having the cup holder replaced on an 08 Wagon with the non climatronic ac system require the disconnection of the right hand side selector that controls where the air comes out.
Just noticed today that no matter what position it's in the air only comes out on the windscreen vents and the two side vents on either end of the dash.
I recently found out that my check valve needs replacing for my a/c vacuum. The problem came from when I turn my AC on, the panel vents do not work. Instead, the Defrost vents push the AC air out. How to replace the vacuum check valve? I would like to avoid the high cost of dealership prices.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2004 Chevy Venture and the blower (Vent, AC, Heater, doesn't matter) is only blowing air out of the left or driver side of the van, nothing on the passenger side vents. There aren't 2 blower motors, are there? Is a door shut that shouldn't be? This van doesn't have dual climate control like my GM cars do. The rear controls work fine for the 2nd row passengers. Again, not tied to any blower speed or heat vs. AC. Same regardless. Nothing on the passenger side.
View 7 RepliesJust started experiencing an AC problem. First started with diminished cooling and airflow. Checked the filter and it was dirty, so replaced it. Airflow is completely restored however the air from the drivers side vents is significantly warmer than the passenger side vents.

View 2 RepliesHistory - So my A/C was going out about 6 months ago. It would come in and out with cold air until eventually it just stopped all cold air and was only hot. Then the control knobs broke. I took it in and they told me I had to replace the control unit and that would fix all the issues. Well I got it back and the A/C was still blowing hot air (even though the knobs were now working).
So I took it back in and they said they couldn't find anything wrong and it must be this hairline crack that was leaking freon. they said they couldn't find the crack but loaded it up with freon and said i would have to 'wait it out' could be years could be a few weeks, they just didn't know. well, it worked for awhile but here i am in 102 degree heat and when I turn on the A/C in the really hot car the passenger side quickly blows cold air and the driver side takes about 20 minutes before it finally gets cold. What gives? I do not have dual temperature controls.
I have an 09 Limited with the dual automatic climate control. It finally got cool enough to start running the heater. The passenger side vents are throwing cold air instead of warm like the drivers side. This includes the windshield defroster. I'm thinking there is a diverter "somewhere" that is not working properly.
View 2 RepliesI seem to be having an issue with my air conditioning. I don't think it's an ID-10T error, but it is very peculiar.
My driver side vents blow hot or lukewarm air, however my passenger vents are ice cold. I have the 15 limited, so it does have the "dual" control, and as such I think the issue may be related to that.
Both controls are set to low, max fan, head only, and AC. The "Sync" and "Auto" buttons have no effect.
Any things I can check? I really do not want to bring it into the dealer as they treated me very poorly the last time I came in and my car was out for a month.
how to take off the air vents?, mine are all messed up and dont work right when i try to adjust their direction, i wanna take em off to either fix them or replace them.
View 18 RepliesI have a '06 2.0T Auto, and the first cold day since I purchased the car was a week ago (I live in North FL) and turned on the heat, to find out that little to no heat was getting let out, so I brought it to my local guy, and said that the thermostat was probably stuck open, so he replaced the thermostat and housing for a couple hoses , and tested out the heat just now (55 degrees out), have it on 80 degrees and full blast, and still nothing. Also, usually I hear the cooling fan kick on after I shut off the car for about 5-10 secs, but haven't heard it since its not 90+ out. Its in the 70s.

View 4 Replies2015 GTI autobahn w/pp. Couple of days ago i started to notice that the driver side air vents only blows out cold air even when the car is warmed up.
So I decided to try turning up the temp to hi for both sides, and i notice passenger side is blowing hot air like it supposed to while driver side is not. (this happens with and w/o AC).
This happens maybe 2/3 times i start the car, so I looked up online and seem to only find people complaint about air staying hot when temp set to low w/o AC....
Air Conditioning issues, vents 'hiss' when the A/C is on ... So we just bought an 04 B5.5V TDI and when we were test driving the car, I didn't actually notice this issue since we didn't do extensive driving and I wasn't listening for this problem specifically.
So basically what I found after the purchase is that the a/c is not very strong at all... even full bore and the vents have a hiss, hissing, whine, moan coming from them.
The minimal troubleshooting I have done was just to try to determine, while at idle from inside the car... when the noise was happening. What I have come up with is this.
If the AC switch is off, I can turn the fan on to any speed and the noise will not present itself.
If the AC switch is on, going from fan stopped to speed 1, about 70% of the time the hissing will not present.
If the AC switch is on, going to any of the faster fan speeds (2+) and center vents begin to hiss at me.
Once the hissing is happening, turning the fan speed back 1 will not stop the hissing.
The hissing slows and stops when the fan is turned off or the AC switch is turned off.
The hissing does not sound like a fan rubbing. Its not quite a mechanical sound like a bad bearing or debris hitting the fan.
The hissing sounds a little bit like someone blowing through a straw. However, the fan seems to move up and down the speed range just as expected and the air output seems to match the speed... so its not like the air movement is low.
I have a 2003 Passat 4Motion wagon with the 2.8 VR6 motor. I am currently having an issue with the air conditioning / climatronic unit. In the summer when the A/C is on, if the car is stopped hot air blows out of the vents. As soon as I start moving the air is ice cold. I have checked the compressor, had it recharged and everything on that end looks good.
View 5 RepliesThe other morning I started my car up and no heat or air would come out of my vents. The night before I had to drive through a blizzard and my car was completely packed with snow. The climate controls function normally, everything is lighting up when i select a button, but no air is coming out of the vents (rear defrost and seat warmers work fine). There is no sound of the blower starting when I turn the air on, hot or cold. I live in Northeast Ohio so we currently have several inches of snow and it's well below freezing outside. I live in an apartment so my car is outside 24/7 between being here and at work. I looked up a bunch of posts on here and other websites to try to figure it out. I ended up taking my cabin filter out and it is completely packed with snow. So i vacuumed out the snow that was left in the cabin filter housing as far as i could reach. I also unpacked as much snow as possible from wheel wells seeing as the HVAC vent goes to there, and the blower still doesn't work.
What I am guessing, which I could be completely wrong, is that the HVAC vent is completely packed with snow and it's not letting the blower turn. I guess my question is does that seem remotely possible or is it something else completely? My climate control doesn't work on the highest setting so I don't think its the relay I read about and my heater has been working fine with no noises or anything and I don't believe it would just go bad out of the blue.

I'm at 42k so I'm hoping it isn't a major issue, also tried searching but couldn't find a similar issue. I am pressed for time because I'm leaving for a 2500 mile round trip Wednesday.
I'll add a photo of the controls where I get zero air flow, minus some cold air.
My rear air vents are broken kind of I feel like I could fix it if i took the whole back part off, how to remove the back air vents? or the whole thing?
