Passat (B6) :: Bi-Xenon Broken As Colored Changed From White To Pink?

Pulling in to the underground car park at work this morning I noticed that my nearside Xenon has gone from a nice bright white colour, to a dirty pink. The offside is still shining brightly - does this mean the bulb is on it's way out, and if so how much is that going to cost!?!? The car will be 4 years old in October - does this seem a little premature - if it's not a failing bulb could it be something more sinister.

I just bought new DS1 8k bulbs to replace my aging 6k bulbs. It was a sinch to install and seemed too good to be true. Well i turn my car on and the check bulbs light came on and low and behold the lights do not turn on. The dealership said it would not matter whether I had 6k before and bought 8k but it seems like this might be the issue.

So those of you with bi-xenons know what i mean, when you start up your car it does that leveling sequence.
My car: 10 GOLF TDI 6MT
I put key in, turn it half way to everything comes on, clutch in cause its always parked in gear w/ hand brake on
so clutch in, I turn the key car starts up, as soon as i drop the hand brake lights come on, and they used to do:
LIGHT UP
Level Down
then would go out in opposite directions
then Level back UP to normal position.
Well today i noticed and just confirmed again when moving car after a wash, that my lights now:
Light UP,
Level Down
Level back UP,
it now skips above middle step
Why's that?

I recently broke the oil pan, my husband replaced it after about a month of waiting for new one to come. (Im afraid I didnt turn the car off in time and did something to the engine.) All was good after fixing it until after about a week of driving it i noticed some white smoke coming from tailpipe as i was accelerating to get on the highway. Drove it home and no smoke, drove it some more and NO smoke as getting on the highway! But then again a few days later it did it again!!! The car runs good no loss of fluids, no milky oil(not the head gasket) I would never know anything was wrong if I didnt have to get on the highway to go to town and see the smoke. I have been racking my brain on this computer trying to figure out what could be wrong? Someone followed me and said they smelled raw fuel from the exhaust smoke. But i dont know if its its an injector, I think its from breaking the oil pan??? But i dont know ???? Its a 2003 vw passat 1.8t 67,500 miles just bought the car so dont know much about the history. Seemed to be taken well care of so I dont know.

The right headlight has a distinct pinkish tint. The left still has the white light coloring. What's happening? I'm at 55,000 miles .....

Test drove an '03 Passat GL today for about 20-30 minutes. Seemed to drive well. Stomped the accelerator and brake a couple times, etc, etc. After a more sedate trip back I looked it over, checking fluid conditions, leaks and such. Looks like all fluids have been recently changed . I did notice when pulling the oil dip stick and opening the oil filler a bit of light colored smoke or steam

I'm kind of worried about the coolant in my 03 2.8 passat. it is a pinkish/orangish color, but im worried they topped it off with dexcool at the dealer. is it okay to mix g12 and dexcool or am i looking at a gelled up mess?
With that note, can you run g12+? or do you recommend to stick with the oem g12?

Last night I have noticed that my Bi-xenon are not working. I check fuses and both fuse 15 AMP were melted. I don't what happened but after I have replaced fuse still no light at all. BTW I'm thinking to replace ATF in my tranny. I did check post history and I couldn't find any post about this,

Ok, so I pull into the garage tonite and it looks like the headlight is out (Passenger Xenon), I check. Yup. So, I turn the lights off and on and she comes back. Now, I have heard there is problems with the ignitor/etc with these lights. I am at 34,000 miles on the car. Is this covered under warranty or should I just make do with it. I suspect this has happened before as I had my coworker tell me my light was out before.

I recently lowered one of my client's 2008 passat and since then the xeon headlamps are pointing way too low. I did the manual adjustment with the allen key screws but I'm at the maximum on the adjustment so I'm sure there is a way to compensate with recoding the motor. I have VagCom but I can't seem to do a recode. What is the procedure?

I Need info on drivers side bulb replacement , its a Xenon bulb and no where online have I found any info on this , only the standard h7 bulb is covered.
The problem I have is the access cover to the bulb cant be removed so I need to know if the bumper and lamps need to be removed?

The left Xenon lamp does not ignite. I change the lamp and it doesn't work. What is wrong??, the ballast??? In that case, what is the part number, or tell me where to find it The technician says that the module broken is the AFS Module. I think he is wrong. The faulty message in the car is "Luz de cruce del. izq. averiada" in somehow in English "Low beam left malfunction"...

I've been told by friends driving behind me that every time I accelerate I emit a plume of black smoke followed by a stream of black colored "water". I checked today by having the wife rev the engine to 4.5k...sure enough, black water shoots out of my exhaust, probably 3 oz. I also see a black puff of smoke which I assume is more normal than the water. Is this commonplace ?

I have an 07 with the AFS lighting. bulb error on dash- as I understand it, this has to do with a faulty shield for the high beam on the passenger side. Can this be repaired? Or should I just shell out the 300 for a used one on ebay.

I got my oil changed and tires rotated at the dealer recently. I am now getting a waffling noise, similar to when you have the sunroof open. I don't get any vibration in the steering wheel. I have 24000 miles and the car is 16 months old. I have had the tires rotated every 5000 miles. This is the first time this has happened. I felt around the tires and feel no bumps or damage.
