Hit the button and you can hear it unlock, pull the handle and nothing. All other doors open fine, just the main I like to use for time to time......you know to get in.
View 6 RepliesI have my doors set to unlock when I open the driver door. sometimes they do not unlock, there is no rhyme or reason for it, just it gets a wild hair and they don't unlock, drive to the next location and it works as advertised.
View 8 RepliesMy 2000 honha civic door will not open. the remote will unlock all doors except driver door which makes a noise like its trying to open but will only barely move the nub. When you touch the handle the lock goes back down. I've tried to open with key and tried from inside to open it with no luck. I partially removed inside panel to gain access, but could only pull the levers and not really do anything to the lock itself, I just can reach it. I'm considering cutting a hole from the outside to gain access to the lock, but once i do not sure what's next. what should i look for on the lock to get it to release the door latch?
View 4 RepliesOk, here is the problem: 1997 Buick Park Ave driver's door will not open from inside or outside. It will not unlock. The inside lock/unlock button will not move to unlock position. Using the key from outside will not unlock the door. This happened on the coldest day of the year (15 degrees). I'd love to take off the door panel to look inside but I can't open the door! I'm getting tired of entering and exiting the car from the passenger door!

View 7 RepliesI have a 2002 passat. Recently, the door locks have been doing strange things. The key fob will unlock the drivers door only. Yesterday, when I hit the unlock button, the door lock button went up but the door remained locked. Even using the key itself, the door would not open. I had to climb in through the read hatch (it was a wagon or I'd still be locked out). Where the problem lies? The dealer suspects some component in the drivers door is malfunctioning. How to trouble shoot this without taking the door apart? If not, how do I take the door apart?

View 2 RepliesI'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.

It will not unlock any of the other doors. I've tried searching but couldn't find any previous posts about this. What could be causing the problem?
View 1 RepliesSo last night I tried to lock my car door i put the key in and tried to turn it to lock it and it wouldn't move as if it were stuck or something so i had to lock it from the passenger side and this morning i went to go check it out and sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on the key and inside the part the key goes in since it wouldn't move and was stuck i thought that might have worked but instead all it did was make it worse now it just spins in circles freely without locking or unlocking my doors i have to do it from the passenger side ...
View 6 RepliesI came out to get into my car today and pressed the keyfob to unlock and nothing. Went inside, same deal with my backup and valet key. I tried to scan with vag com with the alarm going off and I could link up, but not to the immobilizer or lock system. I did get both key 1 and key 2 adaptation surpassed codes. Even when I manually unlock the drivers door the alarm does not go off and I cannot roll up my windows with the key or unlock any other doors with the key. Things have been strange lately too, every time I lock the car and set the alarm the doors themselves locks don't sink down but the alarm is activated allowing anyone to get into the car but alarm goes off.

View 4 RepliesI believe that my Driver Door is not recognized as being open at times. Odd things happen. Most notably the Ding for the 'Hey you left your Lights On' does not ding. Though if I shut the Door, Lock with remote, then wait a few seconds, then unlock with remote then open the door, it dings again until I turn off the Lights.
View 5 RepliesMy 04 audi a4 driver door will not open from the inside or outside. The bowden cable is a little loose but it has some tension, but even if that was broken i should still be able to open from the outside. the key fob will arm the alarm also.
And I can hear the door manually locking if i use the key also.i can arm the alarm only if i use the key to lock the door manually. but it will not open. i have to either crawl through the window or from the other side. Other than ripping the door panel apart and opening the door that way? Also the dash display shows the door is shut so that is a plus...
Went to get into my B7 this AM and the outside door handle won't open the car. You pull on the handle, and nothing. It pulls out like normal, but acts as though it's not connected to anything. After getting in the passengers door and crawling over the console , the inside door handle moves maybe an inch, and then stops, feeling like something is jammed. Just made an appointment with the dealer, and he said they've had a few problems with the cables inside the door that controls the handles and latch.
View 12 RepliesFrom inside it works fine. I pulled the interior panel and it looks as if the parts aren't close enough together. There is a white plastic barrel(?) attached to the lever for the exterior handle. When the exterior handle is pulled the white barrel moves down. It looks as if it should strike the lever to activate the spring and release the door. Barely grazes it. Can't seem to get this piece to move closer.
