I have a knocking noise coming from the passenger side front end under light braking, getting off a highway ramp and getting on a highway ramp. It also knocks once when your turn. It has never done this before so I took it to the Linden VW and blamed the brakes, but it was NOT. Now the dealer messed with something and it shakes at high speeds and hard braking.!?!

View 10 RepliesI drive a 2013 4 door gti. Car has 4k miles. Just last weekend myself and my buddies threw my coils in. FK Silverline X plus'. I am not sure on the measurement from fender to ground but I am a finger gap in the front, and fingertips in the rear. After throwing my coils in on saturday, I had an alignment and the rear camber adjusted. Just today, sunday, while driving home I heard a weird clunking/knocking noise. Previously I drove a mk4 and I know the sound of sway bar on axle and this is not the sound. Its coming from the passenger side front.. and I can sort of feel it through my clutch and brake. After pulling the car over I checked everything I could. wheels are all tight, struts seem fine. The noise occurs continuously even on smooth roads. The knocking/popping is pretty loud and can be heard in cabin. My buddy had mentioned the guys the aligned my car might have forgot to tighten something so I am heading back to the shop first thing in the morning.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2002 Camry, and recently on the passenger side towards the front wheel there has been a fairly persistent thump or clunk when I brake at low speeds (i.e. immediately before a full stop). I took it to my local mechanic yesterday to see if he could figure it out, and unfortunately he wasn't, although he did point out that my dog bone was cracked and suggested changing that out. Afterwards, the thump/clunk did seem to be more subdued, but it's still obviously there.

I've noticed sometimes when I startup and shift into reverse the car jerks a bit and its not a smooth transition. However other times the car is very fluid in switching gears. Should I take it in to have a look at it?
Also when I am turning onto a unleveled road (usually a higher road), I notice a creaking/knocking noise coming from the front of the car, also notice it when I reverse into a parking space sometimes.
I recently started getting a light tapping noise coming from the front passenger side tire wheel area. It almost sound like a nail stuck in the tire, but lighter in sound and there is nothing stuck in the tire........
Here's the kicker: It only happens when I turn LEFT!!!! I checked and there is nothing obvious that sticks out to touch the tire when it turns...
I own 2016 Camry special edition, and while driving i hear something knocking sound like ping pong ball sound coming from passenger side front tire, feels like shock is not working properly, in warm weather (over 60F)it drives better no sound or anything, what can it be? Is it because of 18" tires?

For some reason it does not make the noise when it has recently rained or the car is wet, the noise is coming from the front drivers side. I had a mechanic check out my suspension, and he said everything was fine. I am thinking it could be a bushing, but am not sure.
View 10 RepliesPassengers side tail light doesn't react when braking, using hazards or blinker, what do I replace? The bulb is lit, but doesn't blink or brighten when the brakes are applied. As of right now I'm replacing the bulb socket seeing as when I replaced the bulb the contacts were covered in a brown crust, is there something else I should be looking at?
View 3 RepliesGot the car back from the wheel shop who installed coilovers and some rims on the car. Riding on 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 out back. Noise coming from the front passenger side.
There was a loose tie rod, tightened it up
Took out the wheel, checked the bolts.
Checked brakes (he painted the calipers for me)
Checked rotors etc
Only happens when I accelerate the car. Barely makes the noise in reverse.

I have a knock on the passenger side front of my 2001 passat 2.8L 5speed. It knocks whenever i give it gas, whether its while im letting the clutch out or not. It has been getting worse. At first i thought it could be a tranny mount but the one underneath the car on the passenger side looks perfectly fine.
View 4 RepliesOk i did do a "search" and it solved Half my problem. Both the (Front Pass & Rear Pass) 12V Socket were not working. Did a Search and read to check the Fuse Box. Checked ALL Fuses one by one and found a Blue 15 Amp Fuse Blown. Replaced it and the Front Pass 12V socket works now, but the Rear is still not working... Am i missing something?

Okay so I changed my rear brakes, disc and pads on March 18th. The change went okay. Now I'm getting a burning smell from the front pad, specifically the passenger side.

I have noticed it when I come to a stop, then I hear a repetitive knock coming from under the front passenger side of the car. knock, knock... 7 times, in rhythm, not decreasing in volume, then it stops. Kind of like a gnome trying to get in from under the car... It does not sound like something is flapping or swinging as the knocks are consistent, it sounds mechanical in nature. The car is at the dealer right now for that and other things but they cannot get it to make that noise.
View 8 Replies2003 Passat 1.8T, 53,000 miles. There's a clunk coming from the front passenger side so I jacked the car up today and checked it out. Not much play at all when I moved the wheel. Tie rod ends look good, CV boots are intact, control arm bushings look good........except for one. The outer bushing on the passenger side lower rear arm is cracked. I assume this means I should replace that arm?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2001 Passat that I love. I have taken it to a VW dealer as well as two other dealers to try to diagnose this 'noise' problem. It is a noise that comes and goes, and seems to increase after driver fifteen to twenty miles after start. They thought it was the underneath engine cover but it is now back again. It sounds like a rattle when it is bad, also the passenger can feel the vibration under their feet. It rattles from 3 mph to 35 mph approximately. Can even hear it when coming to a stop.

Once in a while i get to park my car in a garage and each time i have noticed that there is a smell of smoke when i get out of the car, (none in the cabin) kind of like a burning rubber almost. If I go on a long trip and then close the garage it actually fills up the garage with a whitish smoke. I put down some cardboard and found about 3 or 4 drops of oil up near the front of the car on the passenger side, checked the drain plug and its fine. I know that its not a lot at all but some leakage none the less.

The drivers side window works when it wants to, the front passenger and the back drivers side windows wont go down at all and the passenger back window works only when the front drivers window does. The switches are lit up with the windows that don't work..like there is no power going to them. The power locks do the same..with the same problem windows. It has an after market car alarm, so could that be the problem.
