Fixing a jammed headlight washer cover? I know the washer itself works because I see washer fluid on the ground and I can hear the motor whirling. Also when I access the maintenance item on the infotainment center, the left washer cover pops out, but not the right one.

View 4 RepliesOne of many issues I need to fix - headlight washer fluid cover seems to be stuck open. i applied moderate force to push it back in, but it did not move, and i do not want to risk breaking it.
I'm thinking some wiring isn't right, maybe connectors never got reconnected.. the auto adjusting headlights don't work either, and the washer fluid line from the firewall that runs to the washer fluid tank was hastily crimped on due to the plastic hose fitting being most likely broken off or lost. Does the bumper need to come off to mess with it? guessing yes.
I recently bought an 2005, 3ltr diesel Phaeton (though packed with options) in Germany. I drove it home and was, and am, in awe of the motoring experience.
As a fan of cars I am lucky to own a Opel Speedster (VX 220 in the UK) and a Buick Riviera Boattail from 1972. But the Phaeton beats all of them together!
But......my newly acquired Phaeton failed the technical control over here in Belgium due to the headlight washers (squishers?) not working (coming out of the bumper). Not even with the manual override through the control screen.
Dealer have checked every fuse, replaced on of the batteries which was not functioning properly (and was causing numerous 'power' errors). The car has been with them for two weeks now and I am getting desperate to drive my car.
What is the volume of the screen/headlight washer reservoir and at what level the low fluid warning lamp first appears?

The washer heads both extend OK using the service button, but when I pull the washer stalk only one (RHS) pops out and no fluid comes out, so I am guessing the washer pump has stopped working.
I have a 2004 Phaeton and the passenger side headlight cover spring is missing or broken. What is the part number or have diagram of part?
View 5 RepliesI am receiving an erroneous warning message about pad wear. I replaced pads and rotors (OEM) about 10K miles ago. I pulled both front wheels. The pads and rotors look great, as expected, and the sensors appear to fine as well, in place, wires all look good, etc.. Nothing was jammed between the pad and the rotor, no metal was touching the rotor, etc. My understanding is that there are no sensors on the rear, so that shouldn't be causing any issues.

View 1 RepliesI took my Touareg in for an oil change. When the tech lifted it up, he called me and pointed our a bushing on the lower control arm which was leaking oil or some fluid. I touched it and it seemed like oil of some sort. It was like black or something near that color. He told me that maybe it was some kind of a hydraulic bushing and the seal had gone bad. The oil was not coming from anywhere else, but the bottom of the bushing.
I took it in to service and the tech couldn't really explain where the oil was coming from, but told me that that bushing did not have any type of fluid in it. While I had the Touareg in, the air suspension compressor finally got replaced. I feel like I'm actually driving a luxury car now. It feels so much nicer! That immediately got rid of most of my cabin rattles. Boy, was my ride bad before. That was in "comfort". I can't begin to describe how horrible it was in sport.
They replaced the dual horn, because mine went bad. They also replaced the wood trim on the driver side door. They kept ordering the wrong color. My original Myrtle was almost chocolate in color. The ones that they get now are much lighter. Just about all my wood has now been changed. The only problem now is that for some reason or another, the headlight washer isn't working. I'm wondering if they disconnected a plug while working on the horn.
So, after about a year, I've finally got just about everything done. Now all I need are new tires and an alignment. Speaking of alignments, I've noticed that my Touareg is the only vehicle I've ever driven that will continue to drive in a circle with the wheels turned, even when you let go of the wheel... while going forward. In other words, if you turn the wheel enough and accelerate, the wheel will tend to turn further until it locks. Other cars will straighten out as soon as you release the wheel, if you are going forward (not in reverse). Ok, there are 3 questions on this post: The deal with the bushing, the deal with the headlight washer and the deal with the wheel that doesn't straighten itself out.
My car was involved in accident 12 december 2014, still not got car back now garage. Windscreen washer not working no power to pump and they have changed the pump. I was supposed to get it back 4 times and its still not fixed.

It's clogged and I'd like to try and soak it in some stuff to dissolve the clog and/or replace it myself. The dealer was going to charge me ~$150 to do this and trying to see if I can do it myself.
View 5 RepliesToday I was filling the Windshield Washer container and all of the liquid went directly to the floor, that means something is leaking, but I haven't had any warning symbol in the console neither the VAG-COM system, is this a common problem ?, is it too hard to fix it ?, I will assume it should be covered by the CPO warranty ?

When that happens I just push it back into place, but it would seem that there should be some sort of auto-retract spring or something to keep it from gravity opening. Is there a spring that might be missing on mine?
View 5 RepliesThere are threads discussing problems with headlight washers not retracting (stuck open) but I haven't seen anything about the washers not extending. The passenger side works fine but the driver side does not extend. The pump, however, does seem to work because washer fluid flows from under the front of the car. Thus, the sprayer is spraying inside the bumper (probably not a good thing).
When I press the service button, the passenger side opens and extends but the driver side washer cover does not budge. What would be the best way to troubleshoot this problem? Is there a way to access the washer without taking off the bumper? Can the washer cover be pulled open (sounds like a bad idea)?
My 2004 Phaeton has apparently developed a leak with the windshield washer fluid resivoir. Last week the check light came on for low washer fluid. I filled it and now a week later it's on again.
Is there anything in particular that I need to check? I thought I recalled reading about an issue concerning this but I've not found it.
Just got in the car and the washer fluid low warning popped up on the dash. As I'm refilling it and get towards the washer bottle being full I see it leaking out the bottom of the car. The car hasn't had any impacts and it's mild here at the moment so the bottle hasn't frozen and cracked but seems to have just started out the blue. Otherwise, swap the washer bottle? I seem to recall seeing it when replacing one of my horns and can't imagine it's much of a job but you never know!
View 8 RepliesIt frustrates me to have to ask but I can't find what I'm looking for after several attempts. The footwell cover just below the steering wheel appears to have hinges at its bottom so I'm thinking the top merely snaps into place but I've found no literature referencing that. I've pulled what I felt was a safe amount with no release and I don't want to damage the cover if I'm wrong on my assumption. I can't see any screws to remove but I'm just not sure, what does it take to remove?
I've got the Bentley repair manual but it skips by this as it's not worth referencing going straight to the cover behind it.
