Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 - Strong Vibration At Around 45 Mph, Enough To Visibly Shake Passenger Seat

Shortly after having my tires rotation/oil change service, I noticed a strong vibration around 45 mph, enough to visibly shake the passenger seat. Other indications:

- It is most noticable when accelerating (e.g. entrance ramp), much less when coasting at 45. I can coast at 45 and when I accelerate feel the vibration increase.
- I did not notice the vibration prior to the tire rotation, so I think it is unrelated to my accident in November.
- The vibration is not apparent at all below 40.
- I had all 4 tires rebalanced (thinking one of them may have thrown a weight) and I still have the vibration.
- I do have a little irregular wear on the tires (inside shoulder).

Before I take it in and have it looked at, I was thinking of taking off one wheel at a time and testing the car w/ the spare on to see if it is one of the tires.

Any other ideas about potential problems that could cause this vibration?

Prius (2010-12) :: Vibration Between 67 - 72 Mph / Empty Passenger Seat Will Shake?

Each time I reach 67mph, the empty passenger seat will shake profusely and I do feel a strong vibration under the car. Once I get above 72mph, the sensation goes away. Anything under 67mph is smooth as well.

It doesn't matter if I'm accelerating or coasting, It will occur between these speeds. I assume that I have one or more tires that may not be balanced correctly?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Vibration / Shake At About 30 - 45 MPH No Matter If In Gear Or Neutral

I have an 07 F150 xl 2wd 5speed. It has a vibration/shake at about 30-45 mph no matter if its in gear or neutral, or if its under throttle or not. It also gets a little worse when breaking coming down from about 45-30mph.

I was thinking at first it was the wheels out of balance since it was only at a certain mph range but the braking thing has me thinking rotors. The truck has about 51000 miles on it.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Vibration Starts Above 45 MPH - Truck Shake Only When Pulling A Trailer?

I took it to the dealer and they blamed the trailer. I told them that I have pulled two different trailers and it did it with both. Then he said that the trailer was not heavy enough to weigh down the springs. So now I not suppose to tow an empty trailer? Also my father in law has pulled the trailer with his Z71 with no shake and the other belongs to a neighbor with a 98 F150 with no shake. The vibration only starts above 45mph. Any clue as to what could be causing this?

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Passenger Seat Vibration Increases With Speed

I have noticed that the passenger seat has a vibration that can not be felt anywhere else in the truck. You can actually see/feel it from the drivers seat when no one is sitting in it. However, you can not feel this vibration through the steering wheel, gas peddle, door panels, etc. It increases with speed with is present at low and high speeds. My thought is that perhaps the seat is loose? When sitting in it it feels like the back right wheel is out of balance but I know it isn't (recent road force balance and feeling in all other seats confirms this). Could it be I just need to tighten the seat/tracks?

Camry 2012+ :: Front Passenger Seat Seems To Shake / Shudder A Lot - Squeaky Center Dash

I have a 2012 Camry SE and my front passenger seat seems to shake/shudder alot. It constantly shudders and makes so much noise when no one is sitting in it, that it's driving me crazy! I can't tolerate the noise of it. If I go over a bump it shudders, if i'm driving on a rough highway, it shudders and shakes so badly that I have to put my hand on it to make it stop. It makes squeaky noises as well. It doesn't happen when driving on smooth surface.

Secondly, the center dash is very squeaky, and made out of hard plastic. I feel there is no insulation behind, and thus it squeaks whenever I go over a bump. What steps did you take to resolve it?

just got a new Passat 2008, 6 MT, when I go on the freeway the passenger seat belt winding starts rattling, I have to buckle it for the rattling to stop. also, it seems like the passenger seat appears to be vibrating but the car itself is fine.

On my 2004 F-150 (new style) the passenger seat belt will not release. What steps do I need to take to find the retractible mechanism in the back portion of the seat? Does one have to cut the fabric? I removed the head rest and the top portion where the belt rides but can't locate the retractible part.

I have a 2010 Prius. Lately it has been in the 80s and 90s here. After my car has been sitting for awhile in the heat (usually during the work day), there is a strong vibration when using brakes. The vibration occurs after I have come to a complete stop, and lasts for 2-3 seconds. After 10-15 minutes, the issue stops. On cooler days I haven't noticed an issue.

Prius C :: Vibration In Steering Wheel At 70 - 75 Mph When Driving In Strong Wind?

Picked up another C today cause we wanted the 3 model and got a 2012 with 29K, traded in the other C.

Driving home into a very strong wind I felt vibration in the wheel at 70-75Mph, it seemed to get less when slower.

Can winds cause vibration?

Also can overinflated tires or underinflated cause that vibration too? I didnt check it at the dealer as I thought they would have and its too dark now to check.

One last thing, when they rotate tires, do they also balance them?

Prius (2004-09) :: 2007 - Passenger Airbag And Seat Belt Buzzer / Light Not Working

I just bought a prius 2007.

I have a unique situation:

•No passenger: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign
•Passenger with no seat belt: light is "Airbag" - No red flashing seat belt sign

I have no other warning lights on the dash.

I tried to check to check if there are any loose wires/connectors under the passenger seat but everthing looks ok.

Is there a blown fuse?

Having issue with seat belt buckle vibration, passenger side, when the vehicle speed is between 40-50 miles/hr ? Ok,I have an 05 f150 4x4 5.4. And I have noticed for a little while now that once in awhile,it seems like the front end,will shake like an up and down shake.Today it was the worse,now it only does it maybe once a week if that but usally its not too bad. Just a little shimmy. But today it really shook.Now when it happened I put on the overdrive,applied the brakes and even put 4x4 on and still did it. Now it does it the worse at very slow speeds even at crawling speed in an alley.I parked it at home and took it out again after 10 minutes and nothing! What could be causing this??

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - Strong Misfires Under Load

I have a 2005 F150 with 5.4 and have been having increasing random misfires. This is MUCH more pronounced when the engine is warm, and I can certainly count on it to happen when under load, either accelerating or whatever. If I am forced to remain stopped for any extended period of time, such as waiting in line at a drive through, then start to drive again, the problem seems to increase exponentially, and is most pronounced in the 1300 - 1900 RPM range. If I take the overdrive off in order to put the rev's above 2000, it eases the problem, but does not eliminate it. The issue is much LESS pronounced when first starting driving, it seems to be most prominent only after it warms up.

So far, the only codes I have ever seen is random misfires, and only once has the code gone solid in the ECM. Usually, if I back off load for a minute, it clears up on it's own and the flashing code light clears .... If I attempt to accelerate hard, even when cold, the misfires get really bad and I can always expect a hard code soon afterwards ...... needless to say, I have no real power at any time, and my fuel efficiency is beyond bad (best I can get is about 11 mpg) ....

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Shake And Rattle / Knocking In Reverse

I have a 08 F-150 4x4 King ranch with 5.4L Duel fuel motor. Last year we were backing a trailer and the whole truck started shaking. Stopped, but it in forward and no problems, tried backing again and same thing. It did back up but shook worse with more gas.

We took it to a mechanic who said without even looking at it "Sounds like a reverse clutch, common problem" So we had them rebuild the trans, a few months later it did it again once but we were 300 miles from home. Since we could still back we did what we needed to do and drove home with no problems. Dropped it back at the mechanic who said he couldn't find anything and eventually had a yelling fight with my wife. We couldn't get it to happen again either until last week it did it again and she grabbed the camera to record it.

Took the truck back with the video, he had a mechanic look at it and said the transfer case mount bolts were loose, tightened them up which did get rid of a knock that we had since the trans rebuild and said that was the problem, it was binding and causing the shaking. This weekend did the same thing again.

Now the truck is back at the shop and only 100 miles or so left on the warranty (12m/12k). So after that long story my question is if the problem really was/is the reverse clutch or if there is something else wrong that he never fixed and was just intermittent enough that we let him get away with it this long?
