My driver's side window will only go down half way. The problem began when a small accident damaged my driver's side door check (the small bar that keeps the door from swinging open too wide). The check was bent, and the window stopped going all the way down. When I removed the check, the window worked fine. Now I've replaced the check. The door works fine, but the window problem has returned.

View 1 RepliesWhen pulling down my drivers window and then pulling it up it gets stuck half way up. I have to push the window hard toward the outside while pressing the button to get it back up. If I am pulling down the window and stop before this point, I have no problem pulling it up again.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2003 Montana (same as Venture). The driver side window will get stuck half way down and the motor will grind. You can then run it back up, but when closed it will grind again.

I continue to push button and raised window all the way up. Now I hear wind and whistle sound. Does not seem to be as tight? Afraid to lower window as it may not raise again... Does this sound like the typical window regulator failure? My warranty coverage "excludes " window regulators, go figure. Their brochure says window motors and regulators covered. View 6 RepliesPulled up to subway today and hit the switch to put the window down for my order. paid the lady got my order hit the switch but the window went half way up and stopped! drove off and tried to make it go down or up, nothing! tried again in a couple of minutes then it went up. I haven't done anything since. Am I looking at a huge repair? Never had a problem before.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius, but my wife drives it. I think this problem has been going on a long time, but because my wife drives the car, I never noticed it. When I raise switch to raise the window on the driver side there is a little click after which the windows should roll up to the top and stop with out holding the window switch.
Mine does this, however it gets to the top and then drops back a little. This does not happen if you don't engage the automatic roll up feature.
I found a couple of threads that talked about window calibration, but I cannot find anything more than that.

There's a film peeling off the inside of the drivers window. I didn't even know there was a fim there, I assumed the tint was in the window itself. It appears that it is shrinking away from the left edge and along the top of the window itself. The piece along the top edge has peeled off and is now actually flapping in the breeze! 1/8 to 1/4 inch, tops.

View 8 RepliesI just bought a 2005 Prius a couple days ago and have spent the weekend discovering "hidden" little issues. One was that after a heavy night a rain there was a small pool of water in the very back of the car underneath the cargo area near the wire that runs from the traction battery. In fact the little prongs holding a slim white (electronic) box connecting to the battery were rusted out.

Shortly after I hit 85k i got into an accident that required both drivers side doors and the drivers window to be replaced. 2 weeks ago I noticed that my driver's window was excessively loud going up and slower to rise than the other windows. Upon closer inspection it seems that the rubber surround at the front part of the window gets bunched up requiring the motor to work harder to get the window all the way up. I fear that it is only a short time before the motor fails and the window becomes useless.
I plan to go back to the body shop and have them take a look at it. I am not fully sure if they caused the problem, my common sense tells me that the drivers window ought to be the first to fail, seeing as it gets used the most (garage tickets, drive throughs etc. But I am hesitant to replace the motor if the repairs were done improperly causing it to burn out). How much the motor runs? I am guessing that this will not be a cheap repair, but my hope is that the body shop will at least do the labor for free seeing as they replaced the window and the door and I now have this problem. I have to take the car back anyways, they replaced the fender and it is loose at the top.
I have an issue with Prius 2005 driver side power window constantly making clicking sound even after turning off the Prius. All other power windows works, just the driver side is having this issue. This started happening after I changed the 12V battery for my Prius.
The window still rolls down and up but it's very slow and making even louder clicking sound while rolling down and up. Also an other thing that I noticed is that windows keep going down slowly by itself after it's been closed. Any clue as to what went wrong with my driver side power window ?
Just got my 2012 Prius from the body shop. Got hit in the rear where the starting battery is.
Had window control problems since battery was replaced.
Problem is that the driver-side rear window can't be controlled by the driver. It works fine with its own control but not from up front. The light on that windows button is not lit like the others. When pressed it lights and when released it blinks a few times and goes out. I unhooked the starting batter to try and reset things with no luck.
My drivers side window slows or gets stuck half way up. If I grab the window and pull up as the motor is running it will make it past. Sometimes it slows then makes it past on its own. Does that sound like a bad regulator or a weak motor?

View 10 RepliesAwhile back I did get my battery replaced and I did reset my windows so they could be used from the driver side panel. As of now, I can roll down all of them from the driver side except for the passenger side rear (window diagonal from driver). The window does roll down from the door itself so the window isn't broken. The light on the driver window switch is lit green, not blinking. However, the light on the window switch on the passenger door is NOT lit and not blinking either. And yes, I did make sure the window lock was not on.
Could the switch, either passenger or driver door, be bad? Should the battery be disconnected and reconnected??
I just did timing belt and driver rear window wont go up. light flashing at switch. Rest all others nogo on this one. Disconnect battery and try again ?

View 7 RepliesI notice there was a rattle coming from driver's side near the door/window while I was driving in uneven NYC road going about 30mph. I would not have noticed it had I not been on hold while speaking to someone over bluetooth.
After spending few hours trying to figure out where the rattle is coming from, I have found out it's indeed driver's window. If I just open the window tiny bit, the rattle will go away.

This past weekend, the driver side passenger window does not go up or down. I tested my other window and they work perfectly fine. *Knock on wood* The window lock is off.
View 1 RepliesMy '04 driver window would squeal when going up or down....dealer replaced entire window track/molding around door window opening. Fixed the squeal, but the new rubber molding looked like crap from wrinkle, stretching, etc.
Now, to today. My '07 is now doing the same squeal on both sides! I do not want 'new' trim/tracks installed because I'm convinced they can't do it like 'factory'. It's worse when it hot and sunny out...vs...rainy or dew.
My next step is to remove my door panels and 'q-tip' some clear silicone into the tracks on the window edges...as I believe the problem is simply 'dry rubber' which is rubbing the window edges. Rain or high humidity offers just enough 'lube' to prevent all but the slightest squeaks.
