Gen 3 2011, rear view mirror grarage door opener light has a constant dim blink. The second light which indicates reflective repression will not turn on or off. That light should be on at night all the time.

View 5 RepliesI bought a used 2010 model and here's a pic of my rearview mirror. Please note the base of the mirror assembly and the location where it's attached to the windshield. Seems kinda low to me. Can other 2010 owners chime in if your mirror is attached at the same spot (or not)?
View 5 Replies2010 Prius: During my first visit to dealership at 5000 mile service I told them to see what's wrong with my driver side rear view mirror why it is shaky. (It only shakes / vibrates left right NOT up down, and depending on the wind, road bumps have no affect) Obviously they could not duplicate it.
I called Toyota and Dealer wanted me to test-drive with a technician and show him the problem, which I did and technician agreed that there is a lot of wind induced shaking at the same time passenger side mirror is rock solid. They replaced the mirror with another mirror.
Now here is the problem, new one is also shaking. I am from SF Bay Area driving on 80, 780 and 680 near Fairfield (mostly windy)...
Should the garage door opener buttons (1 through 3) light up at night with the headlights, etc. on...? I
'm thinking they should and I'm missing a "turn on" somewhere.
They are very hard to see in the dark.
2014 RX 450h. So I drove the car for the first time today and am wondering why the reflection in the Rear View Mirror is so dark? I did finally find the buttons for the Anti-Glare function on the far right and didn't notice a difference in the daylight.
View 6 RepliesSo I was just looking at my rear view mirror and noticed that it has the Celsius and Farenhite symbols where the compass is. Is there a way to display the temperature on the mirror? (I know it's right next to the clock already). I also found it interesting that if you hold the compass button down, the letters will turn into numbers for some reason.

At night when someone is driving behind me, the headlights from the car behind are seen on the inside rear view mirror with two vertical lines that start at the headlight and go one above and one below the headlight.
Because I got rid of the crappy stock mirror!! I do not like the auto-dim function at all.. so now I have the option to turn it on and off..and the green LED tells me when it is on.
The dimmer function button on the bottom there are 2 red LED for a nice subtle glow on the dash..ambiance.

Planning on tinting soon probably with 3M Scotchtint color stable 35% on sides and back. I was wondering about what percentage tint would effect the automatic dimming rear view mirror and what percentage would render it an expensive brick?
View 4 Repliesunder the self-dimming rearview mirror, actually two of them. I searched 'red light' and came up with a 2001 post and nobody knew what it was either, an ambient light like the state patrol uses one guy summized!!!
What gives here. I've never noticed it at night, only today in broad daylight!

View 2 RepliesIn my 2002 SC430: The interior rear view mirror has an indicator which does not light up when I press the auto button. It does not auto dim at night either. My headlights auto on/off so that daylight sensor works. Ive checked the mirror fuse but not sure if there's anything else causing this. Do these mirrors go bad, or has mine been broken ? What items do I check and or test to diagnose and repair the mirror?
View 2 RepliesI've recently noticed that my v's auto dimming rear view mirror has stopped working, or at least appears that way. I'm not sure if it's because of the tint because I have used my iPhones led to testing it by shining the light from inside of the vehicle but it still fails to dim.
View 8 RepliesWe were following an RX350 the other night, it was a later model as the rear wiper was hidden, and I noticed it had turn signal lights at the outboard edge of the side view mirrors. Is this a 2015 thing or something we missed on the 2014?
Might not be enough to trade up for but something I hope continues into the Gen 4 models as it is a feature I like.
In my 2010, I have a red LED light in the lower left dashboard- in a series of four buttons next to mirror controls, none of which are used- that suddenly started blinking when I start the car, and drive it. I'm not getting any other trouble indicators from the main screen. What it could be?
View 1 RepliesI'm not sure if this is a problem others have experienced here but for the last few months my rear view mirror angle would drop down and every morning when i got in the car i would need to readjust. I then thought that like every other moving part of the P that needs adapting that maybe the same applies to the mirror so i moved it to it's highest then lowest points, moved the seat all the way back, got out, locked the car, unlocked it, the seat and mirror had returned to the position stored in the memory and for the last month the mirror has not moved so I'm thinking that this has solved the problem.
View 1 RepliesMy rear view mirror looks to be dying. Yesterday morning it started with what looked like a hairline crack through the middle of the glass. Several hours later it appeared to be de-laminating itself. It looks like water is stuck between 2 layers of glass. Obviously not happy with this as TOD is just around the corner and don't want to be traveling over 1200 miles with limited rear view visibility. [URL]..........

View 7 RepliesA week or so ago there was a topic about the rear view mirror dimming. I replied that mine worked on the inside but not the outside mirrors. I just re-read two or three different brochures and found that the outside mirrors do just about everything except dim! Go figure.
