My wife's 2012 Prius C's windows pull away from the wipers when opened. As a result, all four windows will not clear the condensation or rain drops while opening, I have to get a squeegee and clean the windows manually. I have never owned or seen a car that had this problem. Went to the dealer and checked a new Prius C on the lot, looks like a design flaw since that car had the same problem. Any comments?

View 7 RepliesWhy do my wipers pop up about 2" each time the horn blows when the door is opened? They don't pop up if the car is running and I blow the horn myself. My local Chrysler service center has attempted to fix the problem twice without success. Once by replacing the door harness and then by replacing the multifunction switch. The problem is still there and my warranty is running out!
View 11 RepliesI parked my BMW X3 in my driveway yesterday and then went inside. I live in Oregon and it's been cold and raining for the last several weeks. When my wife and I went to get in the car about an hour later, we discovered that the sun roof and all four windows were wide open and the interior was soaking wet. I certainly didn't open the windows and sun roof. I've probably opened the sun roof once in the three years we've owned the car, and, with all the cold and rain the last several weeks, I've had no reason to open any of the windows. While the car was left unlocked, I did not leave my keys in the car and we live on a fairly private cul-de-sac. I'm baffled as to how this could happen and I can't even come up with a theory.
View 3 RepliesParked my car at work today and around 4:00 a few people stopped by my office to let me know that all of my windows were down in my car. I was like ..that weird. So I went outside and lo and behold all of the windows were down and the sunroof was open. That is odd I though. So I closed them all and no further problems.
Did I perhaps sit on my FOB and press the buttons a certain way that made all of the window go down?? My office is 2 doors down from the outside of the building where my car is parked, so the signal from the FOB would have to have traveled pretty far?
Other than that, my car has 73K miles and has been flawless!!
I just bought this truck,2013 f250 CC Lariat 4x4. The sliding rear windows opened and closed 1 time and has never done it again. I have read about the motor and cable setup breaking and needing to be replaced. I do not think that is the issue. I have also read that the channel the window runs in needs to be lubricated on a regular basis. I was going to try that first. What is the recommended lube for these window channels?

View 1 RepliesI have a Chrysler 2002 T & C. When the ignition is "on", everything works, but if the car starts, these accessories drop out and don't come back on for minutes at a time. The ignition switch has been replaced, but it still happens?????

View 3 RepliesI have a 1997 explorer 5.0 AWD. The problem is that when it is about 44 degrees and below, the windshield wipers, power windows, and interior lights don't and won't work. We will run the heater until it warms up the interior, then everything seems to work fine. I usually leave the wipers on so I know when it is warmed up enough. I have checked all of the fuses and all are fine. the only thing that I can think of is there is a crack in the back of the fuseblock that breaks contact when the metal is cold.
View 2 RepliesI have a question regarding the possibility of a stuck window as described on pg. 4-18 of the owners manual. The manual states "Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door and the individual door window switch in opposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened or closed".
If the window does get stuck, how do we get it unstuck (besides taking it to the dealer)?
I have a 2000 Ford Windstar Van with 155,000 miles on it. A problem has developed with the electrical system/components. The van will start and run fine. With the engine running, there is no instrumentation, power windows do not work, wind shield wipers do not work, radio does not work, heater blower motor does not work. After the engine has been shut off, the radio will work, windows will work, door locks until such time as you open the door, then all quits. With the key in accessory, the windows work, door locks work, radio works, etc. The neutral module was replaced (the old one, none of the contacts appeared to be burnt). Ford dealer spent an hour trouble shooting - checked body modules (2) - found nothing.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2003 F250 Lariat 6.0L Crew Cab. My wipers, radio and power windows don't work. I have painstakingly checked every one of the fuses to see if there was one or more blown. All were OK.
I removed the fuse panel under the dash and have disassembled it to look for obvious clues, burnt wires/heat damage etc. but everything looks fine. Have pushed all of the fuses in to make sure they were seated properly. No joy.
I recently replaced one of the back windows in my truck and had to detach the rear dome light and I remember one of the wires sparking. Where to start diagnosing this problem?
Just picked up the truck 1995 Ranger XLT. 3L...5spd...4x4...no power windows or door locks. The key buzzer only buzzes for a few seconds, if you move the ignition it buzzes for a few seconds each time its moved. The wipers only work when the buzzer is dinging. Also..the wipers when turned off stay in the up position. I replaced the ignition key mechanism and the on off wiper relay. What am i missing in this weird scenario??
View 1 RepliesMost of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.
On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?
I am having this strange problem with my 2014 Camry: When the door is opened, the dome light turns on but the map lights do not, unless I physically press the light cover to turn them on - and they stay on indefinitely even when the door is closed. Is this worth taking to the dealership or is there a quick fix? Strange I never experienced something like this before.
View 3 RepliesI purchased a new 2012 Toyota Avalon and had the dealer install a trunk spoiler before I picked it up. Unless the trunk is completely opened and seated, the lid falls down--most times while your head or hands are in the way. I went back to the dealership and they told me that the lifting mechanism was working correctly and that they had never heard of this happening before. They also said Toyota does not make a heavier duty lifting mechanism.
Their advise was basically get used to it because, after all, it is my fault because I requested the spoiler in the first place or to see a member of their sales staff and try to work out a deal on a new 2013 car. I cannot believe that I am the only Avalon owner who has a spoiler on their car. I have talked to the owners of other makes of cars who have spoilers on their cars and not one of them has this problem. Most will hold its position when lid is even less than 1/2 opened.
I was driving my truck and my power windows quite working I figured it was a fuse so I wasn't to excited about it I stopped and unloaded some scrap metal and then when I started my truck back up I couldn't shift it out of park unless I unplugged the brake pedal sensor or turned the key just out of the off position then shifted to neutral then started then I could put it in gear and go so I got home and started looking checked all my fuses all good then I realize the windshield wipers are not working either and the door beeper, if you have your keys in the ignition also isn't working the horn, isn't working the lights on the window and lock switches isn't working either so I'm kinda lost now gonna barrow a relay tester in the am but I'm kinda thinking maybe the computer ?? For all this to happen at one to,e doesn't make any sense to me that's a lot to all go in one shot it makes more sense to me

No accessory lights on the window and lock switches
No wipers
No buzzer/beeper (like when you open the door and leave the keys in the ignition
Won't shift out of park without doing it with the engine off or the brake pedal position sensor unplugged
I've gone thru with a test light and got power to the fuses for everything but still nothing
I'm having trouble with my '99 F-350 7.3L 4X4. One day, my power windows, cruise, dome light, horn, wipers, and 4 wheel drive stopped working. After checking all of the fuses, I have found no bad ones.
