I am replacing my low beams every couple months ever since I replaced my oem bulbs with Silverstars. Sometimes the bulbs last for a few months and this last time they lasted only 30 days or so.

View 8 RepliesOn my 2011 Three with standard halogen headlights, I have been experiencing headlamp burnouts at least once a year. Other than the usual precautions while swapping them (i.e., wear clean gloves and never touch the bulb with bare hands), I don't think I'm doing anything unusual.

A couple of months ago, the passenger side low beam lamp went out. When I tapped it, the tiny bulb on top of it went back on, but not the low beam lamp. High beams were fine.
Took it to the dealer asking them to check for a short. They said there was none, it was just the bulb.
Tonight, same thing except on the driver side. Tapped it and the small bulb went on, but not the regular one.
I am finding it odd that both bulbs would burn out like that. One, maybe, but two so soon...?
I had my '03 for seven years and 112k and never had an issue with the lights. Very few issues overall with that.
How do you remove the Touareg Headlights to replace the light bulbs. I have fount the open close turn, but that doesn't release them all the way.
View 3 RepliesI just bought new DS1 8k bulbs to replace my aging 6k bulbs. It was a sinch to install and seemed too good to be true. Well i turn my car on and the check bulbs light came on and low and behold the lights do not turn on. The dealership said it would not matter whether I had 6k before and bought 8k but it seems like this might be the issue.

View 8 RepliesWe purcheased a used 2003 Hyundai Elantra in Aug. 2010. Since then the driver's side low beam has burnt out 3 times. From our online research this appears often in the Elantra, but with no real fix. There does not appear to be any moisture problem and I am leaning towards a short, ground, or voltage problem. But seems odd that it is always the same headlight.
View 3 RepliesI tried to convert the bulbs in my dashboard with LED bulbs..and it worked for about a month and stop working..then about a week after not having any dash lights. They came back on...but like a strobe, but not all the time..... And then it'll be fine? I'm also looking Into doing a taillight conversion to LEDs.

Modifying it with a different bulb, if so what's the size? Same ones as the interior map lights?

What would be a close color match to my LED parking light which looks sort of bluish? The new parking light LEDs are 6000K color temperature.
I am trying to swap out my stock license plate bulbs on a 2012 Prius.
After getting to the bulb socket holding thing, I have read that you're supposed to turn it 1/4 counterclockwise and pull but mine is stuck and won't turn either way.
I have a 2010 Prius IV that constantly burns out the low beam bulbs. I have replaced these at least 8 times in the past few years. Sometimes they will both fail at the same time, sometimes individually. These bulbs should last for a year or more, not months! And I do not use cheap aftermarket bulbs, they have all been OEM quality bulbs.
View 6 RepliesMy 2005 Prius has 281,000 miles and is burning oil. No smoke or leakage just have to add oil between oil changes. I drive about 30,000 miles per year with my job. Car is paid for and I love not having a car payment, but fear this may be the beginning of the end.
View 4 RepliesI recently had an oil leak in my 2011 prius 3. The local dealer replaced the timing chain cover and fixed the oil leak. I drove my prius for 4,000 miles and the low oil pressure message came on. I took it to the dealer who said it was completely out of oil and that it is burning oil but they don't know where or why and their only recommendation is that i change the oil every 3,000 miles. this seems crazy. Why a 2011 prius would be burning so much oil? i don't see black smoke or leaks.
