Today I took the car in for the 15k service, I asked them to reprogram the car so that when I touch the driver door handle it would unlock all 4 doors. I went to my car this afternoon and this did not happened as I wanted.
View 19 RepliesOK, the default operation on a base PHV is when you have the smart key on you and you come up to the locked car and touch the drivers door handle to open it, it will only unlock the drivers door.
This is inconsistent with what I was used to on my 08, when I open the drivers door, I want all doors to unlock at once. I looked in the owners manual and it appears I need to have the dealership reprogram that.
Well that's an annoyance, is there another way to accomplish this change? It is not in the touchscreen menu (although I did see the remote fob 2-stage unlock option there).
How to set the car so that when you touch the door handle it unlocks all the doors and not just the drivers door. I have a SE with Nav.
View 9 RepliesI have found my"new" 04 Phaeton not unlocking by touching the door handle. I also noticed the trunk won't open when I press the bottom of the logo. Yes I do have the technology package so that isn't the issue. I was wondering if it is a software issue.
View 1 RepliesI have a quick question regarding the ability to unlock my SE V6 by just touching the door handle... Might be a dumb one so brace yourselves... If one were to go and say have the passenger of the vehicle tap the passenger side front door handle will that unlock the car in the same regards as touching the drivers door handle? For example if I were putting something in the trunk and had the FOB in my pocket and the passenger wanted to get in but I still had the FOB could they unlock the car the same way I would with the driver's door? My car does not allow the passenger to unlock the doors. Can it be programmed to have this work? Furthermore, is there a way to program the drivers door handle to unlock all the doors instead of just the drivers side door?
View 11 RepliesThe drivers side and passenger side doors will not unlock using my key fobs, nor by touching the door handles. The only thing that happens when I touch the front passenger door handle is that the back doors will unlock. I have to enter my car through the back doors, and unlock the front doors manually. Also, by touching the passenger door handle, I get a series of beeps (3-5). What may be causing this, and how to fix it?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius Touring HB. A few months ago, I left the car on Acc mode by mistake and drained the 12V battery. Had to use the manual key to get in the vehicle and jump start the vehicle. Since then I have not been able to open the drivers side door with the SKS and touch sensor. I can lock the door by pressing the black button the handle. Battery in teh FOB appears to be functioning well. Doors unlock when I touch the passenger side handle or the latch on the rear hatch. Key button is up (SKS is operational).
I am not sure if I may have done something when jump starting that turned off the sensor feature of the driver side handle.
06 limited. I lost the Toyota book that has the procedure in it to change the smartkey system's door handle button to unlock all of the doors instead of just the drivers door.
View 5 RepliesI have a problem with my '08 driver's door lock. Essentially, the doors will all lock just fine using FOB, door buttons, etc, and all doors except driver's door will unlock using smart key features, fob, etc. However, if I want to unlock the driver's door I have to insert and turn the key. It feels a little stiff but it might not be any different than before as I rarely used this feature before. There was a period of about a week where it would fail intermittently before it began to fail consistently.
It just got warm out here in MD, not sure if that might have made a difference. I popped the rubber door plug out to lubricate it the lock mechanism with some silicone spray and also sprayed some in the lock itself, but it did not make a difference.
I am trying to avoid an expensive repair, but I am not really up for a complex replacement of the actuator motor - and it seems like the motor must be working anyway if I can lock the doors. I have not done anything in the latch area, just near where the key goes.
I would like all the doors to unlock when i open the drivers door. The manual is a little confusing on how to do this or if you can.
View 9 RepliesI have my doors set to unlock when I open the driver door. sometimes they do not unlock, there is no rhyme or reason for it, just it gets a wild hair and they don't unlock, drive to the next location and it works as advertised.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius V-ATP with remote keyless entry. When I open the driver door the rear doors do not unlock. When I open the front passenger door, the rear doors do unlock. I would like the driver door to open all 4 doors too. Is this normal operation?. Is there something I can do to fix it or do I have to take it to the dealer?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 Golf R that has the Kessy system. I get "Keyless Defective" on the screen and am unable to lock/unlock doors by touching the handles. Key fob lock/unlock buttons work fine.
It ended up being a plug had come undone. I have a feeling it's the one that's just under the back of the rear seats. I was installing stereo wiring and it kept coming apart. What to look for under the hatch floor or the seats?

View 3 RepliesI have a sante fe which has problems (suspect multiple) with central locking , intermittently locking itself - very annoying - even driving down the road.
Drivers door controls for central locking unlock button does not unlock the doors - button just doesn't do anything. Lock button works fine. In addition window controls on drivers door dont work - only control that works is the one for the drivers door.
Final piece of the puzzle - the red light in the drivers door does not work either nor does the drivers door button panels light up. Starting to wonder is there a fuse or quirky power supply problem somewhere.
The rear driver side door on my Passat doesn't work right, it doesn't lock or unlock from the button on the front two doors....and the window only rolls down when that door is open and the car is running, how to fix?

However, my car wanted to update, and after doing this, this feature does not seem to work anymore. I can still touch the drivers side and front passenger side to unlock the doors, however, i am no longer able to unlock the car using the rear doors.
View 7 RepliesI've owned my F for almost a year now and in the year I've owned it I've have three times where the doors won't open using the handle or remote to unlock the door.
The only way I've been able to gain access inside is to roll the windows down using the remote control, then open the door handle from the inside.
My car has been great until April this year. Out of nowhere, I could not unlock any door with the key FOB or black piece on the handle. I had to manually unlock it and then the car would not start.
Took it to the dealer, left it; they found nothing wrong. Same exact thing happened again in May and again on June 18th. I have only 49,390K on the car. I want to talk to Corporate but dealer will not give me the information.
Basically what the title says, my brothers 2002 accent front doors won't open from the inside when you pull on the handle, no matter how many times, both sides before it was just the rear doors doing this, and I can't seem to find the child safety switch, but now the same thing is happening on the front doors, and since everything is electric this is pretty bad if the electrical system dies and you have to get out of the car, what the heck is going on?
