I have a 2008 Prius. The black square key is stuck in the ignition and won't come out. I can hear clicking sound under the hood -- perhaps the battery. But the car won't start; the clock is off and the doors don't lock, except manually.

View 1 RepliesI accidentally put the key from my 2008 Honda Odyssey into the ignition of my 2004 Honda Odyssey, and now the key won't come out! How to get the key out? I tried jiggling the steering wheel, jiggling the key, disabling the battery, unlocking the gear shift and putting the car in and out of park, but nothing even remotely loosens the key.

Kinda like it's having a difficult time starting and NEEDS to be cranked a wee bit more and takes over for me. Is this an ignition issue that I can (need) to address or is it normal. I have ZERO experience with a newer vehicle nor a Ford truck.

View 4 RepliesWhen I went to pull my key out of the ignition yesterday the key got a bit stuck and when I jiggled it a little to pull it out the chrome bezel that locks the tumbler in fell out. Now the tumbler is out as well and I cant figure out how to get the tumbler in and lock the bezel in place.
I see a pin on the bottom of the ignition cylinder that I should be able to push in and pull the cylinder out but I cant seem to push the pin in at all.
2007 5.4 F150. Is the radiator drain the square yellow nylon (?) fitting at the bottom right of the radiator? Does it screw out and the coolant come out the little spigot ? Would like to make sure before I get in there and destroy things....
View 5 RepliesOur 2001 Prius has recently been having problems with the steering wheel locking (not in a position where this would be normal/expected, but in random positions--takes several minutes of wiggling and turning the car on and off to get it unlocked) and the key getting stuck in the ignition (just as if the car weren't in park, except that it is). They might be unrelated, but started occurring at the same time.
View 2 RepliesThis is 2008 Prius. I'm curious on how much gas is left with 1 blinking square left on fuel guage. I've driven 50 more miles since it started blinking. The car runs at ~ 47MPG on commutes everyday. The last time I had it blinking on highway, I filled up the gas in the next exit. My estimate was there were still 2.5 Gallons left when it started blinking. I have a gas tank with a few gallons of gas so I'm not concerned that I may be stranded on road.

View 7 RepliesOver the weekend I washed my car after the blizzard a week ago that hit the northeast. I use the waterless and wax wash, which is mostly just spraying and wiping.
Everything came off easily, except for these pesky black speckles of "dust." I can pick them off by scrapping with my finger (with a microfiber cloth in between my nail and car), but it leaves a very faint streak on the car that I cannot take off. The stuff that comes off also clings to the cloth and I cannot get it off.
Could it be some kind of grease from perhaps the plow that may have gone through the street? And what is the best way to clean them without damage to the car paint?
For the past few months when I first start up my '08 it sounds like Curly (Three Stooges) is yuck-yucking under the hood. This occurs right before the engine kicks in and he yucks about 6-8 times. (A few times he yucked after I turned the car off too) This morning when I hit the power button the big red triangle came on and the car didn't start until the third attempt. Ran fine all day. From looking at this site I'm guessing that the triangle means I should check the 12v battery. But what about the yucking??? (Where's Moe) Is it related to the triangle? I am also reading about various recalls and am wondering if there is a website that lists them. How do I tell when my car is manufactured? Several of the recalls mentioned on this forum say the recalls cover only certain months of a specific manufacture year.

She tried using a pen to push the little button in but it won't move and the key won't budge. What is she doing wrong, and why did this happen? Is the battery drained?
View 16 RepliesI have recently noticed that the ODO meter of the car does not work i.e. it is stuck at the reading (57735 km) it was on when I got the car and does not record/show the increase in mileage. the trip A and B are working perfectly fine. I took the car to the local Toyota dealer but he has no clue what is wrong with it, the guy there suggested that ECU is working fine but the ODO meter is damaged and needs replacement.
I am not sure what the guy at the dealership suggested is correct because what i think is that if ODO gets damaged then the whole speedo meter should mal function.
My key is stuck in the ignition. The car turns on, i just cannot pull out the key. I've had to park my car at work with key still stuck in the ignition until I can get this matter resolved. The key is a regular key, does not have a chip.

View 13 RepliesI dropped mine off this morning for service and noticed a 2005 parked exactly in the middle of the service lot blocking traffic and surrounded by a pool of oil.
Turns out it was delivered by flat bed last night. The flatbed driver was unable to start the car so he flooded the area and I assume his flatbed with oil so he could "slide" the Phaeton off his truck.
Service says they can't start the car or remove the key from the ignition, so there it sits. I told them I'd see if there was any advice here on getting that car back on the road - and outta the lot.
This is the original key that I've used since the car was new. This morning I stopped the car, shifted into PARK, and turned the key to shutoff the engine and accessories. The key turned completely as it should, but the steering wheel did not lock and the key will not come out. I messed with it a bit but with no luck. An usher walking by got in and tried it a few times, but no luck. The car will start and run fine, I just can't get the key out of the ignition.
This also means the key fob won't lock the doors, so I have to leave the key in the ignition and the doors are unlocked. GREAT!! I have an appointment with the dealership on Thursday of this week, until then I'm driving my other car and leaving the Sonata in the garage.
