Having issue with an occasional whistling noise. Mine seems to happen once I get to 80km/hr(50mph) or above. Seems to be coming from the drivers side area around the side mirror or windshield frame. Being winter the windows and sunroof have been closed and it doesn't seem to be consistent so it's hard to figure out what could be causing it.
View 16 RepliesI have a new 2013 Hyundai Sonata SE. At speeds of 50 mph or more, there is a high pitched whistling noise which seems to emanate from the passenger side windshield area. I believe the noise is caused by a faulty windshield seal. I recall a similar whistling noise when I had a windshield replaced on a vehicle years ago by. I called Safelite Autoglass back, and to their credit, they sent someone out to re-seat the windshield, which resolved the problem. So I'm assuming the dealer will be able to do the same. I hesitate to call it wind noise because all cars have that to one extent or another.
View 9 RepliesI've got a 2008 santa fe limited 3.3 awd with about 170000 km on it. Lately when I brake I've been hearing a clicking noise coming from what sounds like the driver side front wheel area.
Had it in to my mechanic who checked the brakes and said that pads/calipers/rotors were all fine. They replaced the passenger side front bearing on the lower control arm a few weeks ago and said there is no play or noise coming from any other suspension components.
Where to look next? My mechanic isn't sure what it is so I was going to take it to the dealer and see if they can fix it. Also had new tires installed about a month ago
I've a new Santa Fe bought in March this year. Car works perfectly but i just noticed a whistling noise problem coming from the top/back of the car (it si located over the roof) when reaching speed of 70mph or above.
I removed the roof rack cross rails but still this noise remains. I feel it is something related to the aerodynamic of this car and the particular roof rails system. Tried to tape some connections between the rails and the car roof but nothing is changing.
I drive mostly on highway all days for work and this problem is driving me mad. I took back car to the dealer, he checkd (but i'm not sure) telling that everything is "normal"!
Having problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

View 13 RepliesI just bought a 2006 (mk2) Santa Fe 2.2 CDX manual.Overall I'm pleased with the car but I have noticed over the past week of ownership a whining noise coming from under the floor area towards the front (I think). The noise only occurs around the 20mph mark ( no other speed) and is there whether I'm in gear or just coasting.The car has done 43000 (so not high mileage) has a full service history and only one owner prior to me. It does have a tow bar (which I wanted) just I case this may be relevant.
View 4 RepliesI recently upgraded from my '14 IS 250 to a '15 GS 350. So far I am loving the car except for one thing. When driving above 50mph, there is a very loud whistling/squeaking noise coming from the driver side mirror area that is driving me crazy when the window is open. If i close the mirrors, it goes away.
I plan to have the dealer look when i go for the 5k service.
I bought my 2011 Santa Fe about 6 weeks ago and only have just over 1000km on the odometer. I have an appointment next week to have the dealer look at my car because I hear a lot of noises. First, I hear a constant squeaking sound in the driver's side window/door frame. I think I have this figured out - it's the weather stripping/seal on the door - perhaps the door isn't fitting tightly. I'm not too worried about that sound. I'm also hearing a rattling sound in the rear end, usually when I go over bumps. It sounds like something underneath the car is loose and is banging every time I hit a bump. It's not a loud rattling noise, but enough to be noticed for sure. Also, I've heard a rattling noise on the front passenger's side door somewhere but I can't seem to pinpoint where exactly. Again, it's like something is loose and rattles when I hit a bump. Should I be concerned? I'm a bit nervous because the last car I bought turned out to be a complete lemon and I bought the Santa Fe to rid myself of worry - I haven't been successful with that so far. I have gone through the interior to make sure nothing's loose and rolling around and making the noises, I've repositioned all the seat belt tensioners etc - nothing makes these noises go away.
View 24 RepliesI'm having a hard time diagnosing a creaking noise that is coming from the front driver side area. Since the Camry is pretty quiet, this is the one stand out noise that annoys me while driving. I placed my phone next to the front windshield to get as close as possible to the noise but am having trouble locating the exact spot. Where it's coming from.
The noise tends to appear when outside temperature is spring/summer like. In the winter I really didn't notice it. So that tells me the interior temperature is irrelevant despite warming up the cabin in winter. How this is linked to outside temperature I have no idea.
Ignore the large thump in the middle of the video as that is noise from going over potholes.

Where another 09 owner had what he thought was a cold weather related squeak coming from the passenger side dash / windshield area. Mine does this and it's highly annoying. Here's what I've observed:
- seems to happen in cold temps, though I can't say what "cold" is...<40F perhaps?
- noticeable over bumps or whenever the car frame twists as a result of uneven road surface
- source seems to be the dash / windshield interface on the passenger side
- it's *possible* it may be coming from the top of the windshield as well
- it's very noticeable and highly irritating
Either with an 09 or earlier model? I cut a pool noodle and shoved it down between the glass and dash hoping the pressure would relieve whatever is rubbing. It appeared to work until the temps dropped into the 20s. Then it returned. I have a 2009 GLS, 5MT Sonata.
I have a noise coming from what seems like the front windshield area. It sounds like when you have a balloon full of air and open a small hole and let it out. That loud squealing noise that it makes is basically exactly the same as the noise I am experiencing.
It happens when I'm going 70mph in high winds or over 80mph without high winds. And when it happens it's constant.
I talked to the dealership and they told me it's fine... mostly because it happens randomly and it's hard to replicate unless you go 90 it always happens but they obviously aren't going to test drive my car going 90mph to find the noise.
I brought my 2011 GS350 in today for the dealer to fix the rattling noise coming from the dashboard after 2.5 hrs of waiting the car was fixed and I drove it to work and the rattling was minimal but tonight after work it was really cold I drove the car home and the rattling noise seem like it coming from the dashboard area near the windshield and the noise was more noticeable than this morning right after i left the dealer.
I just bought the car on March 3, 2015 so far loving the ride but the rattling noise makes me worry. The car is still under factory warranty until March 29th 2015 I am hoping they can correct the problem before the warranty expires.What should I do next?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe & in the past every time the temp got below 32 my windshield wiper fluid would not come out. We put in the fluid that does not freeze. I brought it in and they just told me the nozzle had debris in it and nothing else was wrong. Next week same thing. Now when I go to put the fluid on the front windshield all I get is the wipers running & no fluid and at the same time the back wipers come on, but no fluid, which never happened before. Back wipers are separate from the front.

After I drive about ten or twelve miles it goes away and diminishes into a hissing noise. Is it possible the fuel pump is failing? I have a 2005 trailblazer with 105000 miles.
View 9 RepliesA year ago I heard occasional metal grinding noise coming from the front, sounding like front driver side. Sounded like CV joints that I heard before. The mechanic said it's transfer case/transmission problem, so I replaced the transmission but the noise came back a few days later. The mechanic said to drive it for a while and the noise may go away, if getting worse he can fix it since it has 2-year warranty.
Now a year later the noise becomes predicable and easily reproducible, I went back and asked them to check. They said it may be passenger side axle. I am feeling being manipulated.

View 3 RepliesFaint humming/whistling noise coming from the drivings side of the motor. I can hear it when I put my head next to the drivers wheel well, and most certainly from that side of the motor when the hood is popped. It's not super loud, but it is noticeable. I know we have Direct injection motors, so I know that ticking is completely normal. Am I overlooking this and being paranoid? Car has 2100 miles on it. I don't know if it was there when brand new.
View 1 RepliesJust spent 12 hrs in our new 09 SF Ltd listening to a squeak/tick/click coming from driver's side A pillar area, front door jamb, or side window. I suspect - but am nowhere near sure - it's the windshield moving against gasket or molding. Had a similar issue in the Mazda3 I traded.
View 13 RepliesMy new SANTA FE has merely covered 10000 km. The vehicle is running fine except a very irritating loud knocking noise from top of front windshield area. The noise is generated as soon as vehicle goes over a minor irregularity on road or even if you make a sharp right or left turn.
