Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Water Dripping Under Car When Not Using AC

Aug 28, 2012

I noticed water dripping underneath my car. It's close to right front wheel. I'm pretty sure it's just water but I didn't turn AC on. I'm afraid it's from exhaust pipe.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2009 - Water Dripping Near Catalytic Converter

As mentioned, water leaking (not coolant or oil) near catalytic converter, my guess this could be normal... but, the interior of the vehicle is fogging up after stopping, and of course, clears up when the front defroster goes on. No sweet smell, interior or exterior. No warning lights or codes.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2010 - ATF Drain And Mysterious Leak / Water Dripping Onto Exhaust

I have the 3.5 V6 Automatic 2010 95k miles. I have read places that say any fluid SP-III will work, then others that say any SP-IV. To my understanding, SP-III is not correct, and the fluid will need to meet SP-IV, is this correct? (Additionally, all the auto-part stores said Mecron SP-6 which is not easy to find).

Also, I have a mystery water leak, it is solely water dripping onto the exhaust just between the firewall and the engine. This happens for about an hour after the car is shut off; its getting cold here in Germany and haven't been running the A/C so that is not the issue.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Water Dripping At Parking Spot

We've been noticing that upon pulling into and out of our parking spot, there has been water puddles and upon close inspection today after pulling our car into the parking spot, I looked under and saw water dripping. This is possibly A/C-related because we are running the climate control on auto every time we drive? Our car is brand new and has about 400kms on it.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Water Dripping In Driver Footwell

Twice now, I've felt a cold drop of water, drip onto my foot while driving the wife's new 2014 2.0T. She's never mentioned it but she also doesn't wear sandals so she may never feel it. The carpet is not wet there, so whatever it is, it's not enough to soak the floor. It was dry out so it's not rain or car wash, but I was running the AC on both occasions, but I couldn't imagine anything AC related above the drivers footwell? I'm sure the dealer will not be able to recreate the problem so I'm likely stuck dealing with it myself...

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Water Dripping Under Car Without AC On

I was coming back from work today and it was about 75 degrees out. Turned the temp control as low as it would go and without pressing the a/c button. When I got home I saw fluid marks where I pulled in on the concrete pad. Looked under the car and there was a good sized puddle of water dripping from the car like the a/c had been running but I never turned it on.

So I guess my question is, when you turn the temp control as cold as it goes or close to it, does the a/c automatically come on even without pressing the button or the light for it coming on?

I just wanted to bring in cool air in just running the fan to reduce road noise and not using a/c, and thought the air was pretty cold and at 75 degrees it shouldn't have been that cold. I didn't notice any power loss which I had been used to with my other car running a/c as well.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Water Dripping And Car Floor Is Moist

Just after getting my Prius I one day noticed water dripping down on my feet. I was just wearing my Tom's shoes so I noticed the quite small amount of water falling down on my left foot. I figured it had to be water stuck on the brake pedal dripping down...

A few weeks later my girlfriend complained about the same thing, but this time on the passenger side. Did not find out where the water was coming from.

Today it happened again on the drivers side. After heavy rain I sat down in the seat, started the car, and removed the parking brake and then it happened again. This time it was quite a bit of water! The floor is moist and it's wet up against the torpedo wall.

The car is a 2010.

Touareg :: Water Dripping From Compass Area

I have been having the drip problem from the area around the compass every time it rains hard and i accelerate. I told the dealer and they stated that the problem was the drainage tubes were clogged and charged me to clean them out. Since then i have had to have the drainage tubes cleaned 3 times and it solves my problem for a short period of time but then i have to do it again.. I have had several cars with sunroof as well as a cheapo explorer and not once did i ever even have to have the tubes cleaned.

Golf/GTI VI :: Water Dripping From Mirror Housings?

I have a Golf-R with 2500 miles on it and when I finish washing it, water drips from both side mirror housings for a while. I have tried tilting the mirrors up and blowing water out but they continue to drip and leave drip marks down the side of the car, especially if I drive soon afterward.

I had a similar issue on my 2012 Wrangler and I drilled drain holes in the mirror mounts which allowed them to drain quickly. I'm not really wanting to take that approach with the Golf-R.

Golf/GTI VI :: 2010 - Water Dripping From Door Seal

On the way back from work, yesterday, i ran into some rain, and noticed that there is water dripping from my door seal (right about where the oh sh!t handle is on drivers side). Now it's not a whole lot but its enough to make it annoying, about 3-4 drops per minute. Is this one of those defects i should live to live with, as with all the other cracks and noises, or should i take it to the dealer? I really don't like taking my car to the dealer for service .

Hyundai - Sonata :: CEL Came On - Water Dripping From The Back Of Engine

So after getting a right axle changed on a 2008 Sonata my bloody check engine light come on right after leaving the repair shop at closing. 5 minutes later at home I checked under the car to see the axle repair and noticed a water dripping from the back of the engine. It only lasted a few minutes. So the next day I had the engine warning light coded and it turned out to be a' heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit low.' From an auto code website:

"Water getting inside the heated oxygen sensor connector can cause the heated oxygen sensor fuse to blow, which is a very common problem for this type code."

The water was dripping right below where the oxygen sensor is located. It wasn't raining that day.Could a repair shop accidentally or worse yet cause this to happen to increase repairs. How would you proceed at the repair shop?

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2011 - Water Leaking From Bottom Of The Engine

I just purchased a 2011 LE Santa Fe,(2400 mi) and have a question regarding water leaking from bottom of the engine. I called the dealer and service rep explained it is more than likely from condensation build up on heater coil and being drained through the vent tube. I believe this is normal and have observed on other vehicles I have owned during the summer months when using AC.

I don't believe I have seen this condition in the winter months 40 - 50 F degrees when using just the heater. I'm hoping this isnt systematic of another problem, that was simply explained away by dealer. It sounds logical but then, again, I have never seen it when using the heater. I do leave heater at full blast when I start the car remotely to warm up cabin temp on those cold chilly mornings.

I have a 2007 Santa Fe 3.3L. Water has begun leaking into the rear cargo area when it rains. It was raining today so I went out to look and the water is coming in through the rear cargo light. None of the headliner is wet. My guess is the water is coming in around the rear hatch seal but I can't find any area where it could get in.

Golf/GTI VII :: AC Compressor Dripping Water Onto Lower Engine Cover

Water seems to be dripping from the compressor and collecting on the lower engine cover. Not sure if it is condensation from a line I can not see or actually dumping out of the compressor. The actual drain for the evaporator is clear and draining under the passenger compartment.

I noticed this a month or two ago but thought it was just water from the rain while driving. Opened the hood today and saw it collected. Turned the car and A/C on and saw it dripping on the the fabric piece that lines the lower plastic cover. Picture Below.

Normal or not?
