Have a 2007 Sonata limited 3.3l, have trouble code P2507 and the car is stuck in limp home mode. Already changed input and output sensors on tranny. Battery is putting out 12V and alternator is putting out 14V when running. Cleaned PCM connections and packed with dielectric grease. Not sure where to look next.
View 6 RepliesAs I was entering a highway onramp today, the transmission stuck and didn't shift between what I'm guessing was 3rd and 4th gear. It was revving at about 5000 RPM and stayed there.
After what felt like about 10 seconds, it got its act together and shifted and the revving stopped.
My 2010 Santa Fe's transmission has been smooth since the TCM update except there's always a clicking sound when the speed first reaches 30 km/h. The sound only happens once during each trip. It seems like it only happens when the fluid is cold. Once it's warmed up, it's fine.
Yesterday all of sudden I feel something is dragging my car. I noticed RPM is over 2000 when the speed is only about 60 km/h. (not mile). And the ECHO light is not ON. So I shift to '+/-' mode and the display shows 4. I guess it means it's in 4th gear. I shift up to 5th gear and RPM drops right away. ECHO light comes back ON. So is this a symptom of 2010 Santa Fe transmission?
I also feel my brake pedal is very stiff when this happens. And the brake pedal has not much travel distance. If the brakes are dragging car down, can this cause the transmission stuck at low gear?
Finding a solution to my problem with Santa Fe, the gear gets stuck up on the 3rd gear. I have changed all the solenoid and it is still the same.
View 2 RepliesMy transmission got stuck in 3rd gear on the way home recently. I tried disconnecting and re-connecting the battery and that didn't work. Looks like there's fluid around the casing, but I wasn't sure if that was already there or not. What it could be? '07 Santa Fe (3.3L)
View 4 RepliesMy auto transmission in my 2007 Elantra with 125,000 miles went into default mode, stuck in 3rd gear. No codes went off. I drove it home this way, but after sitting for 90 minutes, now it works fine. I've heard about the input and output sensors. What should I replace? I went to HMA service to get info on both sensors, but it wasn't detailed enough.
View 3 RepliesI bought the car with 117k and never since my possession bothered to service it. Why? I kept putting it off well at 165k I said heck ill do it. Currently at 170k my gear wont shift past third and its reoccurring almost daily. When I first bought it it was intermittent. I think the late service messed it up. Here's the thing, aamco will open up my pan and look at my solenoids which is 250ish.
View 14 RepliesI have a 07 Sonata V6 that misses only when warmed up, runs fine when cold. code p0301 for cylinder one misfire, I have replaced the plug, coil and injector for cylinder one and still the same. idles and runs perfect when cold, dead miss on number one cylinder when warmed up.
View 1 RepliesJust got my 06 3.3 GLS. Sometimes it seems to hang in between 1st and 2nd gear. No amount of throttle will make the car go or rev up until you let off and it changes gear. Then its fine. 79k miles, no cel. When i say it wont rev it will be at full throttle and engine and vehicle speed doesn't change. I just had the heater core replaced but not sure how this would relate to that issue? Someone said he thought maybe the trans needs to relearn its shift points after having the battery disconnected but not sure I buy that.
View 1 RepliesI noticed that recently my 2007 Sonata (108k Miles) is making a knocking sound when it shifts into second gear. It happens only when I back out of my garage and drive down the street and the car is cold. After that there is no more noise, and the transmission is shifting through the gears smoothly.
I recently replaced the transmission fluid, about 5k miles ago and I used the recommended type.
I read other postings with people having the same problem, and in those cases they pointed to the ABS self-check which occurs when you first start out. But this is definitely not my case as the noise is coincidental with shifting into 2nd gear and it only does it when the transmission is cold.
Could this be caused by the fluid temperature or maybe because the fluid has not had a chance to circulate through the transmission and fill all the cavities? Its rather strange thought that I just noticed it in the last month or so, if that were the case I should have had this problem before.
We have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited Edition. The problem started when the rear diver side door window stopped working. we took apart the door and saw that the cable was all twisted. We found the part at a junkyard and replaced it. Window worked. We closed the door and didn't think twice. A few hours later we tried to open the door and it's stuck. Both inside and outside handles move but nothing happens. The door won't open at all, what to do. We obviously can't get the door off without it opening. What may be causing this??
View 2 RepliesMy trans is getting to fourth and then will go back to third and stay there, two codes, P0734 + 0735, which means the converter isn't locking up in 4&5th gears. And it physically feels that way. after clearing and cycling ignition I can get it to stay in fifth and use cruise control, as long as I stay above 40mph, below that it goes to third and then cruise control also stops working....
View 10 RepliesI recently had the transmission fluid changed in my 2009 Sonata NF 4 cyl. Current mileage is 60,000 miles. Directly afterwards, the transmission started "sliding" into 4th gear from 3rd gear. I assume that fluid contamination has caused a clog somewhere in the transmission. I have had the tsb done on the car for the transmission and the fluid had been exchanged @ 30,000 miles prior to this service.

View 1 RepliesI just bought 07 Sonata CRDI tiptronic and it turns out it has problem when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear: rpms jump up and i feel the kick.
It is not that noticeable when shifting at 50kmph, but worse when shifting at 60k kmph.
Same on Drive or when shifting manually. What the problem could be?
I own a 06 sonata with 95000 miles. Recently I've been having issues with my transmission. It occurs only at slow speed when i travel in first gear. What happens is when the car is moving, it feels like it shifts into neutral but indicator still shows D in the cluster. I press the accelerator nothing happens it just revs,no increase in speed whatsoever.
So that rules out slipping issues. Now i narrowed the problem down a little more whenever the problem crops up i shift the gear lever into sports mode, i feel a jerk and car shifts into first gear and it moves. If i dont shift into sports mode it catches gear in about 7 seconds.No fault codes.
And if i rev it high transmission goes into limp mode and stays in 3rd gear till i restart the car.Then i get P0731 incorrect first ratio.Changed ATF 7000 miles ago. Could it be a faulty range sensor?
2007 with 3.3L at 30k miles (bought new and with regular oil changes) starting throwing p0018's intermittently. No noticeable difference in way the car drives: idle seems fairly normal (only once recently felt the idle briefly stumble at a red light), fuel consumption regular, no power problems. There has been a engine tapping sound at low speeds only heard until the engine warms up after a couple of miles (I'm in Florida, temp is regular in the 70-80's), and the sound is not evident during the start-up, only while accelerating slowly.
On occasion, with hard acceleration, the "ESC 0ff" light comes on, not affected by the ESC off switch, and stays off after one key turn.
Brought to Hyundai dealer who, same day, requested doing an oil/filter change (Firestone had done a change 900 miles/3 months prior) claiming that a wrong oil filter could cause blocked oil galleys. They did the change (and also, no charge, repaired a valve cover leak) and 6 days later called to tell me the car was fine. No mention of the car having been low on oil or evidence of sludging. Also, no mention of whether or not the filter that was replaced was the incorrect filter for the vehicle. (I called Firestone and they claim they regular work with Hyundai to ensure proper filters are used). No mention of why they kept the car for an additional 5 days after the oil change before calling either (except for repairing the valve cover leak with a rocker cover gasket), and although their invoice indicated that they drove the car 5 miles, it was evident from the invoice that the mile in/miles out were the same. I did notice that there was about 2-3 gallons of fuel consumption though when I picked the car up.
6 miles from the dealer after pickup (2 key turns) CEL returns, with same code. I have now driven the car about 100 miles in the last 20 days with the CEl going off and on 4 times now, and each time the same code. I have never had the CEL come on (or go off) while driving, only at start-up. (Longest trip has been 10 miles, top speed 50mph, so a lot of key turns). The longest the CEL has stayed off was for a 30 mile span. The tapping sound mentioned above continues too.
I'm hesitating returning to the dealer. The 10 yr warranty might be a problem for a variety of reasons, and I realise finding the fix for this code could get expensive. But I do want to know what the dealer found out doing their GDS (and via eyes on inspection) and nothing was mentioned on the invoice besides the gasket leak. I'm especially concerned about the timing chain and tensioner.
Is it acceptable to make an appointment with the service manager to find out what they ruled out (and then take that information to a regular mechanic)? Given the problem is regularly intermittent over the last 100 miles, is it still possible that something might be seriously wrong with the engine and damage might be done to the engine by driving it? When I first brought the car to the dealer, they said they couldn't do anything with it because the CEL had gone out. Fortunately, within a mile from the dealer the CEL returned and they took it in. Presently, the light is out again.
2007 accent GS 5 speed manual. car has 142,000 miles. Trans popping out of 5th gear under load. interstate driving 65 MPH going up hill. Pops out but goes back into 5th. Car does not pop out of the other forward gears at this time. Car has very good clutch, no slipping. Short shifter, alu. trans/shifter bushing. shifter cables are adjusted correctly. Are my sliders and dog gears for 5th worn out??? Or is my fork bent?? Or both. Do I need to pull trans?

View 9 RepliesI got a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited (Platinum Edition), 6 cylinder, 3.3L at 110,000 miles. Got a Check Engine light a month ago, checked it at Autozone and it showed P0171 and P0174 codes (Fuel System Too Lean). The code was cleared and I drew the car for about a month, and the light came back on again recently. Checked it again and now it is showing PO133 code (slow response (heated oxygen sensor bank 1)). What could it be if not the O2 sensor or bad wiring or cracks/leaks in the exhaust?
View 3 RepliesI do not feel any difference in the transmission performance but the code has been cleared twice and keeps returning so the symptom is persistent. Can't find the 08 sub-code on the internet anywhere so guess I will have to visit the dealer.
