I disconnected the battery to clean the terminals and now the lights won't flash when I lock the doors with the remote. I guess I lost the programming, how do I change it back? I have a 2007 Sonata.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 (First Generation) and can not lock the doors with the remote. It will unlock with the remote (lights flash) but will not lock. I have checked ALL the doors and they are closed, not ajar. Assoc. battery is at 12.77 volts. I have tried another remote, same one that came with the car and that one will not unlock it either. Remote batteries are OK. When I try to unlock the car with the Remote, the lights don't flash and it tries to lock but then it unlocks--just like a door ajar????
View 4 RepliesI recently had some engine repairs done to my 2007 Sonata. When I got the car back, I found that when I hit the remote lock button, the parking lights no longer flash and the horn doesn't sound when hitting the lock button a second time. I am guessing when they disconnected the battery, maybe it turned off the feature. Is there any way to reset the feature without having to go to the dealer?
View 7 RepliesMy Alarm seems to be having an issue recently. When I hit the remote the doors lock but the lights do not flash and the beep is gone. When I hit the remote to unlock, the lights flash. Last Night I opened all the doors hood/trunk and shut everything and the lights flashed and it beeped. Since I have no door indicator lights I was wondering if there is a sensor where it thinks the hood is open possibly? I am at 57k so I am still under warranty. I had a Blazer years back when the alarm started acting up, they had to replace the computer one time and I think the battery the second time. But I don't think it is that. I did have some work done recently to put a blower motor and Brake light switch in. I did see reference in another thread from 2 years ago about the alarm for a different model car. 2009 Sonata 3.3 ....
View 6 RepliesEvery once in awhile when I'm on the freeway, the hazard lights will flash and the doors will lock and unlock for about 3 seconds then stop.
The car is running normally other than this, except that the doors have stopped locking with the fob or the key itself. It is a 2001 2.0L L4 SOHC 8V.
Strange problem. 2006 4 door Camry. Only the drivers door unlocks when using remote or the unlock button on the door panel. The three other door have to unlocked manually. All 4 doors lock with the remote or the button on the drivers door normally. Not sure if this is a door switch problem or a remote problems or how to further isolate this?
View 8 RepliesI have a Hyundai Sonata 2011 all was fine until a couple days ago when I lock the doors using the remote I hear it click then in 20 minutes later the lights are blinking on and off. I use the remote to lock the doors again and the same thing happens. I replaced the battery in the remote , I also had the battery in the car checked. What could be triggering the lights to keep blinking ?
View 5 RepliesI've recently purchased an off-lease 2007 Sonata and have the following question about the keyless entry. When I unlock the doors I notice that there is a short flashing of parking lights, however when locking the doors with the remote there is no indication.
I believe the manual says there ought be a short chirping which I am not hearing. The remote is just for keyless entry (no alarm is present). While this may be related, I find the horn sound is not very robust (actually quite puny). Is this normal for this car?
I often make 25-30 quick drop off stops on my daily travels and need How to lock the doors with the car running as that many stops and starts will wear out my starter and be really hard on the car.
I know it is possible for the doors to lock while the engine is running as my car came with an aftermarket (pro start) remote starter. It will actually lock the door when it starts the engine, which is inherently useless as my car is always locked when I start it (from the the house) before I get dressed to go outside in cold weatheras well as I am not worried about someone driving away in it without the key to start.
In my old car (mazda) I could just keep the FOB in my pocket and lock the doors either manually or by the FOB when I got out. My Sonata wont even lock by the the FOB which is really frustrating because obviously in that case I am leaving the car running and want to lock the doors, IE: to warm up the car. I can understand why the door locks are disabled with the key in to prevent lockouts but if you need to warm up your car or Like me need to lock it while I am gone for less than a min.

View 1 RepliesDriver's power door lock will sometimes not lock with remote when outside car. The lock button will only move part way towards being locked but not enough to lock the door. The same is true when the inside master lock is pressed to lock all doors. The driver's door lock will only move part way. When returning to car, remote will unlock all doors except driver's door. This happens about half the time. i.e sometimes the remote will lock/unlock ALL doors and sometimes all doors except the driver's door.

View 14 RepliesMy daughter picked up an 08 Base, option package #1 yesterday. It has 166K miles and checked out okay by me (coolant moving by inverter pump, no signs of water in spare tire well...etc.). The car only had 1 key fob (non-SKS) wit no spare key or fob. The key is uncut but the remote starts and runs the car. The remote will not lock or unlock the doors.
The first thing I did was replace the CR2032 battery with no change. It still operated the car but not the locks. I noticed that the little red light wasn't coming on when pushing the buttons and found the red panic button was stuck. Took care of that and thought all was good until I tried to lock and unlock the doors again. Nope! Light comes on, works in slot to start the car, but not the locks.
I tried the manual and search here but did not find how to switch this feature on and off. When I bought the car, I could use the remote to lock the doors while a door is open, such as when I am stepping out of the car. Then when the door shuts, it beeps to confirm a lock. This feature went away, and now it won't do anything while a door is open; presumably to keep me from locking my keys in the car. I can't stand this feature, it's like a damn Honda, protecting me from myself! How to switch this back?

View 11 RepliesMy first question is, if it's possible to switch the beep-sound on, when locking or unlocking my doors by the remote. I think in the US its common to hear a sound when locking. Here in Austria it's forbidden (noice level), but I want to have that sound. Is it possible to engage it? Or is there something missing in my 2002 Camry?

View 6 RepliesSanta fe 2004 - When locking the car with RC, lights did not flash. Cause was hazard light fuse. To verify this, activate the hazard lights, if they do not work at all, check the hazard light fuse. When I replaced the fuse all issues were resolved.

These frigid WI temps are horrible. I did end up washing my car last weekend because it was full of salt. This morning I pressed the lock on my remote 2 times, nothing happened. Normally the horn sounds off once and the lights flash. I seen the lights flash, but there was no sound coming from the horn..........frozen locks? I came home after work and tried it again. Works fine now.
My son has a 99 VW Jetta. His car won't start. We checked the battery and starter. Everything is working - lights, power windows, AC... The remote does not unlock or lock the doors. It has to be done manually (before it did). What may be going on?
