Purchased a few days ago a new 2015 Sonata 2.0T Limited with 8-miles on it. Rolled down my driver window, came down automatically, but rolling up it stopped as soon as I let go of the button. On the other hand, passenger side works just fine.
View 7 RepliesI'm pressing the button up on the drivers console and on the rear door but it won't go up. It went down no problem but it won't come back up. Checked all fuses and they're fine.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 f150 extended cab and the rear passenger window stopped rolling up one day. I ordered a replacement regulator and installed it. It still doesn't work and I tested then switch in the door and it seems to be working still. The window itself does not seem to be caught on anything either.

I can hear the motor so that's not the problem, I believe the window got taken out of its 'tracks' and is loose in the door. I can hear it moving around in there when I am driving and opening and closing the door. I am trying to be very fragile with it, how to take the door off so I can see the interior of that door.
View 8 Repliesrecently my friends driver window in her 2002 passat has stopped working. her car has automatic windows and im hoping its something simple. she doesnt know much about cars, but she says that the window was making a weird noise and her friends dad thought maybe it came off of the track. the window was rolling down halfway than bumping its self back up. than one day it got stuck down at halfway so her friends dad pulled it shut. And now the window is completely stuck up. all of the other windows are working fine.
View 2 RepliesI'm wondering if top tier gasoline is better for our car's. I had a 2002 Camry that stopped idling up with the A/C turned on. I was told that the only way to fix was to replace the throttle body after it was sprayed with some kind of cleaner. No adjustments as the idle is set by the car's computer. Don't want to go through that again.

I experienced a slight shaking of the car when I am at a stoplight especially feel it at the driver seat. I have about 300 miles on the car so far. Not sure if it is just part of the break in period? I only experience it when the car is stopped.

It recently stopped going up and down, and I want to pull the switch panel out and test the switch before yanking the whole door panel to test the motor. I just need to figure out which connector pins should get tested for continuity.
View 3 RepliesMy wife and I went out to dinner tonight and were about 2 miles from home and stopped at a stoplight. I had my foot on the brake, and the motor just cut off. Was playing music through the system from my cell phone. Sound did not cut off. I immediately hit the start button and nothing happened, then the second time I hit the start button, it started and everything seemed ok. I don't know of anything I could have done to cause the engine to cut off.
View 7 RepliesI recently inherited this car from a relative, I had it and two other vehicles she owned towed to my house about a week ago. The Sonata has under 1000 miles on it and I found a stack of repair orders from the dealer where she complained that the car wouldn't move or where it had been towed after getting stuck at an intersection while driving.
What is happening is that when I get in the car, with the engine cold, it starts up and drives fine. Then with no pattern or warning, when I stop at an intersection, the transmission acts as if its in neutral. It won't go into any gear, regardless of where I put the shifter. Its got the 2.4L GDI motor. and an automatic trans.
I had to tow it 5 times now. I took it to the local dealer and they found nothing wrong, no codes, and couldn't reproduce the problem. Yet when I went to pic it up, it did it a block from the dealer, I had to push the car to the shoulder at the light. I walked to the dealer, they had a tech come out to the car and by the time he got there the problem was gone. I took it home, and when I got home, I shut it off, then tried starting it and moving it again and nothing, it wouldn't move at all, no forward, no reverse. I find that if I cycle the key, on and off, sometimes the issue will go away instantly. I also never does it cold, only after driving it a bit. It has never done anything wrong while driving at speed, only when coming to a stop and trying to move again.
When it happens, the shifter moves fine, the engine revs and there are no warning lights on the dash, it just acts like its in neutral regardless of what gear the shifter is in. It doesn't creep or pull at all, there's no movement at all when it acts up and I have to drive it to get it to do it, it can idle in the driveway all day and won't do it till I take it down the road and come to a stop and try to start moving again.
Out of frustration I bought a scan tool to see what's up but as long as the scan tool is plugged in, it doesn't act up. I've been driving it for two days without it doing it. Thinking it may be just coincidence, I unplugged the scan tool, took a ride and it did it at the first intersection, I had to shut the car off, plug in the scanner to get the car back home. I called the dealer and was told that this was impossible.
I'm starting to feel like I'm on my own with this one since the dealer seems to not be able to find the issue. I am really having a hard time believing that the dealer can't make it act up but if they're plugging a scan tool in, and driving it, maybe that's why?
My driver's side window stopped working. Does it need new electric motor or is it a common electrical connection or wiring issue. How to take the door panel off?
View 4 RepliesSo my car is just under 2 weeks old. I had the car tinted today and now the drivers side window switch will not operate the passenger side window. The switch on the passenger side works fine and the window operates perfect. The drivers side window operates perfect.
The tint guys are still out there trying to fix this. There isn't some locking mechanism that could be preventing this correct? Or did they somehow short the switch out only on the passenger side switch? So aggravating.
All windows except the drivers window stopped working last night. And the front passenger window is down 2". Wouldn't ya know it before I got home it started raining. Stopped by a store and got a large box of cling-wrap to wrap the top of the door in plus stayed off the interstate to get home without soaking the inside but where do I start looking for the problem? Why the drivers window works fine but not the others. Seems they should all be on the same circuit. Everything else seems to be working fine, door locks, etc.
View 4 Replies2006 LS V8: Looks like the driver's side window regulator broke this morning. On the way up, it made a couple of "crackling" noises and stopped. Window goes down but not up. I hear a slight hum of the motor when pushing the up button.
Looking at replacement parts, some offer with motor and some without. There is a youtube video showing the procedure for a 2000 LS Passenger Side. I assume the procedure for mine is similar.
I have a 2003 Grand Marquis and recently the drivers window stopped working. The last time I recall trying to use it and getting some response was around a week ago to check and see if my window was frozen shut. When the headlights are on, all of my window controls light up except for the drivers window. When the button is depressed to raise the window I feel a slight vibration through the floor.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to car repair, but is this something I could potentially fix myself? Or how much would I be looking at to get this fixed otherwise?
Pulled up to subway today and hit the switch to put the window down for my order. paid the lady got my order hit the switch but the window went half way up and stopped! drove off and tried to make it go down or up, nothing! tried again in a couple of minutes then it went up. I haven't done anything since. Am I looking at a huge repair? Never had a problem before.
View 4 RepliesI love the car and SCC is one of my favorite features. I've had good experience with the SCC most of the time - if car in front of me is moving and then stops, it reacts well. (Also was pleased to learn I can resume SCC from a stop by just tapping the accelerator, no need to hit resume like the LCD screen implies).
However, the one situation is when I'm going like 55mph, and up ahead there's a car stopped completely. I'll see a thing on the dash that the SCC recognizes there's a car ahead, but it won't hit the breaks till the last minute. Truthfully, I end up hitting the brakes myself in most of these situations.
I've got the longest distance selected (though i've tried it with short following distance too) and my car is a Limited 2.4 GDI.
SCC stops fine if slower car ahead stops. Seems a little risky when car ahead is already stopped (waits till the last second for brakes?).
I've also tried changing the setting for cruise control response from "normal" to "fast"...maybe i'll try "slow?"
My wife and I recently purchased an 02 Camry. Last night the drivers door stopped opening from the inside and outside. Then we noticed the window was getting stuck rolling down and when I pushed down a bit the door popped open! Happened a couple times before the window got stuck.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford F-150 with about 43,000 miles .. love it. However, my driver side window stopped working today. For about the past month when you would power up, it would delay and then go up. This happened every so often. Going down was never a problem. Some times window would go up, then drop down an inch or so. Now this morning I went to the store and the window won't go up and it is down all the way. I do not hear grinding, only clicking. All other windows work fine.
View 5 RepliesMy driver's door power window motor stopped working. Replaced motor (Dorman). New motor was shaky and wouldn't stop when going down. Replaced motor again (Dorman), same thing. Regulator became damaged, replaced (Dorman), smoother, still won't stop with auto button, or holding down button. At some point glass came out of regulator and track. Replaced glass. Window goes up and down smoothly, but just doesn't stop when going down and tries to keep going. I don't see a limit switch or circuit for it. I see there is a relay and a fuse for the auto down. What tells the motor to stop driving current?
