I have a 2016 Sonata Sport. My logos on my radio will be there when I start the car and when I start to drive they disappear. I have tried to reset my radio using the little reset button but nothing seems to fix the problem permanently.
View 3 RepliesRecently a strange problem has started occurring with my car's radio (I've had the car for about 3 weeks). I usually listen to SiriusXM. When I start the car, it'll stay on SiriusXM for about 5 seconds or so and then sometimes it will randomly switch to either AM or FM radio on its own and I have to manually switch it back. I don't think it's a loss of signal issue as the radio will play SiriusXM just fine before it jumps to another band.
View 65 RepliesI've had this 2013 Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) for about 6 months. During that time on at least three or four occasions I've lost all my radio presets. They just disappear and are replaced with stations I don't use. It seems to happen in between car usages, not while driving, but I am not sure about that. I am not noticing any other problems. It's a HD radio. I did not continue Sirius after the introduction period.

Variable-Displacement Compressor (no clutch, anyway, so that's what I'm assuming)
Is it OKAY to drive the car without refrigerant to circulate lubricating oil, or am I going to be looking at a new compressor in a few years?
A week ago, a grasshopper put a hole in the condenser. Yes, a friggen BUG, complete with bug guts and wings stuck around the tiny dent and pinhole. I'm arguing with Hyundai over the warranty coverage, they say "outside forces" and I'm saying "defective part or crappy engineering"...
The dealer's service writer said there would be no problem driving the car while we wait for parts, as long as we didn't turn the AC on. Okay, it's not summer anymore, but doesn't the compressor want to be on in DEFROST setting? Supposedly the system won't try and turn on the compressor if it's low on charge, but...being a variable displacement compressor with no clutch...
My parking brake light came on while driving. The car would coast at a low speed OK, so I think the brake was not on.
This happened in Yellowstone National Park at altitudes above 7,600 ft. and happened 4,000 miles ago and hasn't happened since. Taking the car in for an oil change today and I am going to ask about it.
On my way home tonight, I received several messages on the screen that a battery drain is happening and I should start the car. However, it WAS running!
View 12 RepliesHad driven about 3 miles, engine warmed up. Stopped at the store for about 5 minutes and cut motor off. I started engine, put in drive and after about 20 ft., the motor cut off. Luckily I was in a parking lot and coasted to a stop. Started up again and everything seemed ok. One thing I did notice was after the cutoff, all dash icons, (oil, brake, engine, etc) were on. I especially noticed the key icon, indicating key was not in car, was on. What happened? Is this something that I should have the dealer look at? I doubt they could ever replicate it.

I had Hyundai Navigation going to see what the 3D view looked like (8" display on map fullscreen), along with my iPod Classic playing music. On the instrument cluster, I started cycling quickly through the tabs on the center LCD starting from the MPG/speed page to the navigation page (via the menu button on the steering wheel). I overshot it and cycled through again.
I was doing this very quickly when the whole instrument cluster restarted as if the engine was off and turned back on. The LCD and numbers on speedo and tach completely went out, the needles on speedo and tach went to zero and returned (while cluster was still off), and the cluster did a system check, with all icons displaying for a second then turning off and the System Check screen displaying on center LCD.
In addition, I previously had AUTO HOLD on and when the instrument cluster restarted, AUTO HOLD was displayed in red and could not be turned off or activated (car would not auto hold) and the traction control icon (I believe) stayed on. The main 8" display was unaffected when all this happened.
I was able to turn the car off and back on later and everything seemed fine after. It freaked me out quite a bit, especially when all this happened while I was driving.
On my limited sometimes when I am driving randomly and a car is in front of me but not far up my collision warning signal goes off.
It's only happened about 4-5 times and I am not sure what sets it off or how it even really works?
The sunroof seems to squeak a lot while driving on bumpy/ uneven roads.
Before I didn't know where the squeaking sound was coming from, I assumed it was from the doors. But when I opened up the sunroof the squeaks went away and when I closed it the squeaks came back. The sound is so irritating sometimes that I am forced to drive with the sunroof open.
Have any of you noticed the collision warning popping up on the dash while driving? The first couple of times I missed what was popping up since I was busy driving and not getting into a collision. The last time, however, I did notice. A car was making a right turn up ahead and had almost stopped in the lane..
View 17 RepliesAs I am driving the steering wheel will randomly lock for about 2 seconds. It has happened while changing lanes on the highway, also happening while making turns in intersections. Took it in to the dealer, all they did was clear the code and give it back to me. I have notified Hyundai Customer Care and they are supposed to contact me but right now the car is unsafe to drive.
View 50 RepliesI have a 2005 Honda CR-V with about 97,000 miles on it. I recently noticed that there's a rattling sound when the car is idle but it disappear when driving. The noise can only heard outside. It is also intermittent. I just had the idler pulley/Belt Tensioner replaced a couple of days ago as a friend thought that was the issue. Car seems run normal, I don't notice any change in performance and no check engine or what so ever. I have a long drive coming up in a couple of weeks and I have no clue what could be going on.
View 4 RepliesI've been noticing an oil burning smell after driving recently, it's been going on for a few days now. My oil level is good, I have 8,500 miles on the car. Today I finally had a chance to look under the hood for any visible leaks, and I noticed some oil stains on what I think is the valve cover gasket.
2015 Sonata 2.0T ...
So today my car has started having this issue I just can't figure out. Twice while I was driving down the road my car suddenly acted like it was going to stall, the dummy lights all went off, the AC and radio both shut off, and the clock reset. I cleaned the terminals and checked the codes but nothing came up and it happened one more time.

View 10 RepliesThis morning I got in my car and pulled out of my driveway like normal. SAT Radio playing, everything good. After about 10 min I stopped at McDonald's to get some breakfast and turned the car off. When I come back to my car and start it, it starts normal, SAT radio playing.
After about 30 seconds the screen goes blank and the system resets itself, music stops. The screen turns back on and shows the Lexus "Welcome" screen as if I just started the car. About every 15 - 20 seconds after that it keeps doing the same thing. I tried shutting the car off and restarting it, hoping maybe it would reset the system and nothing, same issue. I had to drive to work with the screen and radio resetting itself every 15 - 20 seconds, very annoying.
Any simple fix before I have to take it to the dealer? I know all the updates and downloads available for the car and NAV system have been done so I'm not sure what could be causing this? Everything else in the car works fine and has not been affected by this, even the backup camera works fine.
I have a new 2015 Prius 4 and have the 3-month trial of SiriusXM radio. I need to understand what functions would go away if I let the subscription expire. If I navigate to a destination, I get audible real-time traffic updates for the selected route. Is that from the satellite? If I am driving without a destination set, there are areas of congestion shown on the navigation screen. Satellite? Anything else?
View 7 RepliesHearing some static on my radio. Dealer said Ford aware of problem but nothing they could do. This was a couple of days ago. Just passed 36k. Have always owned Ford pickups but have always hated dealing with their service people. Hear it on satellite and FM. It slight but noticible.

View 3 RepliesI've been driving this Sonata 2015 Limited and while going very light on the pedal in eco mode it is barely hitting 18 to 20mpg. I find that very odd, and presume something is either calculating wrong or the car has an issue.
