I have a 2012 sonata that has issues from day one. ?
New issue is: For a couple days now I've noticed a crackle noise when I break. It is only when I am coming to a complete stop that the noise happens, not the full time i actually have foot on break.
Not thinking it is the bearings. Thinking it may be something within my suspension.
2011, 2.0T, with 58,000 miles, and everything's perfect, nothing but synthetic oil changes and premium fuel. But, Over the last month, I get a new vibration when I come to a complete stop, and stay in Drive. Once I shift to Neutral, it naturally goes away, and it shifts normally. I've never done anything to the Tranny.
The car has always been like this but this new vibration is bad, I can feel the pulsing in the brake pedal and you can hear it in the engine. What's making me take it to the Dealer is when my wife drove it, she said she noticed it, I said it must be bad.
I have had my ecoboost for a couple months now. Overall I am very happy with it but I have noticed a shudder recently when accelerating and when coming to a complete stop at times. I only feel it when accelerating from a stop or when stopping completely. Kind of feels like something slips. I think I recall reading about this before on the 2011 and 2012s somewhere. What is causing this and is there a fix or is it just the way these trucks are?? I can deal with it but it is kind of annoying when driving in traffic.
View 1 RepliesI have had this for a year now. When I first heard it, I thought someone threw something at my vehicle. I would stop then be at the light then about a few seconds to a minute it sounds like a solenoid kicks out or kicks in... its pretty loud, my passengers even question it. I have taken it to the dealership 7 times now and I am getting frustrated as they do not hear anything each time. As I drive with them it doesnt do it... it seems it does it sporatically... Sometimes it does it after I have exited the vehicle and walking off, it goes through its normal electrical noises then clunk clunk... Strange. I have recorded a sound clip but they said they still have to hear it themselves and they believe it has something to do with the elecrical breaking system but they dont want to swap it out as its an expensive part as they want to make sure of it first... I think I am going to take it to another dealer..
View 8 RepliesI have a 2011 Sonata with 4,000 miles. Recently, I have noticed that when coming to a stop, I hear a light thump noise in the center console area near the gear shift lever. If I put my hand on the gear shifter, I can feel it move ever so slightly at the time of the noise. The noise is very repeatable. If I take my foot off the brake and start rolling and then I reapply the brake (either softly or hard) it will make the thump noise. It is not very loud and can be drowned out with loud music, but if listening to news, it is very noticeable and annoying in city traffic, where stops are very frequent. I put the car up on ramps and looked underneath and did not see anything noticeable. It will probably require the center console between the seats to be removed.
View 14 RepliesI have noticed that my car do a noise when I brake and it come to a halt. It's hard to describe, but it's sound like "put". A little bit like a shock noise, but my shock doesn't make any noise when I go over bump. I had a loaner car while my car was in for rattles, and there was no noise like that. What it could be? It's not very loud, but still I notice it.
View 6 RepliesI have been hearing a sound on and off now for months that happens right before the car comes to complete stop and sounds like the ABS 'chatter' sound like you hear if they come on in snowy roads. Problem is roads are dry. Literally last 1 second. Will happen when stopping hard or slowly. Maybe once or twice a week. I can't reproduce it happen no matter how hard I try. Brakes are in good shape as are tires and it isn't like I am locking them up or anything. No ABS light or traction control light showing. No codes thrown either.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2008 LS460 17,000 miles. I hear what I would describe as a clunking sound and feeling when coming to a complete stop. The noise and feeling is similar to worn suspension bushings. I took the car into my local dealer. After inspection they advised me there is a problem with my car because they heard the noise and feeling like I described. They also stated there is "no fix yet" per a service bulletin for the described problem. They also stated they don't know when a fix will be available.
It appears to be getting worse and my advisor stated he has another customer that's been waiting some time now for a fix. I'd really like to know the service bulletin so I can follow through with the repair by simply asking "Are the parts available for service bulletin 1234 yet? Perhaps others are also struggling with the same symptoms and yet to find a fix.
I have this horrible metal clunking noise coming off of my front end. I just had new brakes put on the car and the mechanic said everything looked good around the assembly. But now when I am approaching to stop, right as I apply a bit more pressure to the brakes before stopping, I get a soft clunk inside the car... but I feel it through the pedal. When the windows are down and I am going slow enough, I can hear it clink (clink, not clunk). It's a very metal on metal sound.... I thought of my control arms, however there is no sound what-so-ever when I steer left to right....
View 4 RepliesI'm new member and recently have bought 2011 sonata YF. I feel a little knock in gearbox handle when I brake and stop the car ( in D mode), and knock again when i release brake pedal. This knock can't be heard and just feel by hand. is it normal or failure?
View 2 RepliesMy Sonata suddenly started having front right brake sticking issue. It will happen only after an extended distance of frequent drive & stop. Something like Houston daily ride. So, after the traffic jam mysteriously clear and you can get some speed, starting at 40MPH a high grinding noise from the front (Ceramic brake pads) and the car feels very heavy. The sticking phenomenon will disappear if you wait a little with avoiding using the brakes.
I am going to check it today. So far I know that the sliding pins are not the issue. I recently cleaned them and lubricated them. The front right brake will get hot while the left are just in normal temperature. The brake pedal is getting higher while the sticking is about to happen and happening.
My first guess is the Flexible brake hose. Or maybe a bad caliper. I think if the master cylinder was the issue, I might have more than one sticking brake wheel. I don't know how common it is to have a bad ABS unit causing this issue. It feels really like a build up pressure caused by a valve effect of interior deteriorated brake hose.
Having issue with snap, crackle, pop noises from all the cheap plastic in the dash of their Nissan Sentra? It seems to occur most when the cabin temperature is between 40 & 60 degrees. If you have had the problem, have you figured out a fix? The dealer just says "they all do that".

History : December, car engine died. Replaced coils and spark plugs. Issues with RPM at stop started.
Two weeks ago, engine light stay on and warning light with triangle on, Diagnose a misfire. They replace Mass Air Assembly.
Today, they replaced the crank case valve Assembly to fix the issue but continues to be the same. The same valve was replace four months ago.
Is this normal and according to the dealer it is working fine. Bad coils?
It's been two weeks since the track and the brake still squeals during the last couple feet before the a complete stop (from 10MPH or so to 0), is this normal? I am on stock pads, how long they last typically? I have 32k miles on the car and that was the first time I track the car ever.

View 4 RepliesWhen coming to a complete stop, whether from 5 mph or 50 mph. After I've been stopped for about 2 - 3 seconds, the transmission feels like it gives a little jerk. It feels something like a car coming out of gear without the clutch pushed in (not quite that severe but that's the general feeling).
View 9 RepliesAfter replacing several front end suspension parts I noticed an issue with the brakes. The car stops fine and in a straight line but right before the car comes to a complete stop the brake pedal drops about 1/2inch and if I am not holding the wheel, I see it move to the right ever so slightly. It does it every time and I am thinking that a component was either damaged or is not installed correctly.
View 8 RepliesI noticed that the car take a very long time to come to a complete stop and I have to press the pedal hard to stop. The brakes have approximately 11,000 miles on them in city driving conditions. Also the slightest bit I relax my foot, the car begins to creek and move. I have to have a very firm foot on it so it won't move. Is it time for new brakes or should I first begin to look at other potential problems? Also I noticed the car pulls to right slightly could that be related?

After driving a few months, I have noticed that my brakes are acting a little funny. Whenever I brake, the car seems to "skip" until I come to a complete stop. It's not a very serious problem, but more of an annoyance.
I took it to the dealership and they told me that my rotors are "warped" and need to be shaved down. They quoted me for 600-700 dollars for the fix...
I just hit 43k miles
Bought the car used a few months ago with a little less than 72k miles. At 72k miles, I replaced all brake pads. Car now has 75k miles on it. Wife just got back from a 1k mile road trip with it.
I took it for a little ride, and noticed this problem about 3 times, it doesn't happen every time. There is no vibration or anything when slowing down and stopping. But, a few times, when the car was at, or almost at a complete stop, the brake pedal would feel like it was buzzing a little bit, and I could hear a springy sound. I tried to reproduce it with hard braking, but couldn't. Seemed to only happen with slow, gradual breaking, and when the car was just about at a complete stop. Brake fluid is full. No lights on dash. Asked my wife if she slammed breaks at all, or had any problems, she said no. Then she said she experienced what I did once, when she was at a rest area, stopped
The only thing I can think to compare it to is how the brake pedal feels and sounds if you lock up your brakes, and the ABS is doing its thing....which I haven't ever done with this car...
