So I brought my car in to an audio video place to have hush mat in the front doors to prevent a rattle noise from my bass. Turns out the rattle is coming from the window switches.

I took my car to the dealership a week before my 1yr was up, and they told me the rattle happened in EVERY Hyundai vehicle. The rep told me, "I just talked to my boss and he has that Genesis over there. It's a 35k car and the driver's door rattles."
A couple of weeks ago I started hearing this rattling/thumping coming from under the driver's side floorboard when the car is started. Almost sounds like a loose exhaust pipe. You can hear just little rattling under idle but it goes away (or you can't hear it) while driving.
Both shops (Pep Boys and dealer) told me it's quite expensive to replace. I just started looking around and I do see aftermarket cats for a few hundred. How hard can this replacement be for the average driveway mechanic?
Recently when I first start my car in the morning, there is a rattling noise, which sounds like it's coming from the driver's side of the engine bay, or possibly just under the drivers side door. It only lasts for a couple of minutes. It will increase I accelerate, and then decrease as soon as I lift off the gas. After a couple minutes, the rattling goes away, and everything is right in the world. Today I drove it around the block and parked while it was still rattling away. When I put it in park the rattling went away. I put it back in drive and it came back. Then as usual it finally went away whether in drive or park. I'm completely stumped on this one. It's an '08 2.4l GLS and has 138,000 miles.
View 9 RepliesI purchased a brand new 2014 SFS 2.4L Luxury just a week ago. I have noticed rattling/ticking noise coming from the driver side door. If I press againt the door with my elbow, the noise stops.
And here is the weird thing, I can hear the noise in the morning when the car is cooled overnight (parked in underground garage). But it does not happen when the car has been parked under the sun for a long period of time (in 25C/77F). So basically, I hear it on my way to work and it disappears on my way home.
I have the same problem as in the youtube video. It is my 2011 Sonata SE with smart key. I have 100k Miles and checked with the dealership and they said no recalls on my car.

Wondering what the problem is? Is it just the Actuator or Lock and Actuator Latch Assembly both?
I have a 2011 sonata with 72000 Km on it. As I am driving at highway speeds I notice a rattle from the drivers side towards the door. I can't quite locate where but have tried pushing trim and I can't stop it. Took it to the dealer and was told there was nothing wrong and no rattle. On a trip yesterday I noticed the rattle stopped as I braked. So I then applied very light pressure on the brake pedal. So light it did not come off cruise. And the rattle stops. What is the likely cause? I want to be prepared with some ideas when I take it back to the dealer.
View 4 RepliesI got in my 2011 Sonata today to go to work and my driver side door won't lock either electrically or manually. The other 3 doors lock and unlock just fine. I'm really concerned because I can't even lock it manually by pressing the lock in. How to fix this anomaly?

View 5 RepliesI purchased a new 2011 F-150 Lariat, Ecoboost, SCrew, 4x4 last weekend. I love the truck. It is very comfortable, the Ecoboost has been incredible, and the ride is very nice. I am looking forward to towing my ATVs after I hit 1000 miles.
Yet, I have one problem. I get an incredible amount of wind noise and wind whistle from what appears to be the driver's door. I read other posts about wind noises and wind whistles (e.g., bug shield), but they do do not apply to me.
I'm planning on dropping it off at the dealership this week for them to take a look at.
the driver/rear suicide door combo is rubbing at the top and thus rattling on bumps. Looks to me like it is actually from the rear door as the gap in the very back is very wide at the top. the driver door gaps look normal along the front. Before I dig into this I wanted to check and find out the best way to approach. Is there an adjustment inside the hinge? the bolts on the jam look solid and have never been adjusted. Perhaps there is a hinge pin in there?
View 9 RepliesMy 2014 Azera has a rattling on the driver's side. I'm pretty sure that when I open the door a half inch or so while driving the noise stops. It doesn't happen all the time and seem to vary in intensity. I'm having a hard time locating the source.
View 17 RepliesI have a 2012 Sonata GLS with 3300 miles on it. I have noticed that now that the temperature has dropped to below 60 degrees I have annoying dash rattle. It seems to be based on the rpm of the motor (1200-1500 rpm). So every time I take off from a stop sign or stop light I have this buzzing rattling coming from the center of the dash. It sounds like it is in the upper part behind the radio. The wife drove last night and I put my ear on the passenger side vent by the radio and I could hear the rattle. I am just trying to isolate the problem so when I go to the dealership I can give them some decent information. I thought the problem was the cowling on the bottom of the windshield. In the center of the window it had warped up. They replaced the cowling earlier this week and the problem is still there.
View 9 RepliesI have had a rattle in my driver's side door since I picked up my car that was driving me crazy so when I took my ES300h into local Lexus dealer (Cool Springs in Franklin, TN) for my 1000 mile checkup, I asked them to fix it. As has happened to numerous others on the forum, they couldn't hear the rattle and did nothing.
When I got the car home, my wife and I went for a ride with her sitting behind me. We figured out it was the window rattling. When we moved the window down just slightly, so it's still sealed, the rattle went away.
When I turned off the car a light came on for open window but it still locked.
I can hear rattling coming from the driver's door at low speeds on uneven roads. At higher speeds there are no noises, it only happens at speeds of up to 50 km/hour. I removed the door panel and there are no loose parts.

I took a 64 mile round trip drive yesterday with the audio between 16-22 volume and there's definite rattling coming from the right passenger side door.
This was through the Satellite Radio Feed. It wasn't all the songs but any songs with the extended drawn out bass you can here it rattle.
I'm about 115 miles in and will most likely take it in this week. There's nothing in the side door compartment...
2011 Sonata GLS 2.4 82K miles
Driver door lock was stuck in lock position. key fob and interior button would not unlock driver door. had to force it open and now the door will not lock at all. tried key fob, buttons, and even inserting key and manually locking but nothing locks the door. Interior lock/unlock button next to handle moves freely now.
Is this the door latch assembly, the handle itself, or something else?
