Hazard triangle symbol on the edge of the drivers side rear seat facing the door. Noticed it yesterday when detailing the new gal. Thought maybe there was a first aid kit or triangle under the rear seat, but nothing. What it's there for??

I've been doing car audio installs for years and this started shortly after i put an iPod adapter and amp/sub in. the head unit was never pulled out and i checked all the connections where i tied in with the rear speakers for the sub. I really don't think it's install related.
What would cause one side to go out front and rear?
I checked my driver side leather seat (V8) and found that the trim was cracked.
When I slow down my car smoothly when driving, the transmission was not downshifted smoothly after 20K service.
9000 Miles latter: The driver side heated seat has given up the ghost. Also, the digital clock on the dash keep gaining time. VW says there is nothing wrong with the computer and they have thrown up there hands.
The clock has probably gained an hour in the last month. I know the car is German not Swiss but a digital clock should not do this and causes me concern that there might be other ECU issues.
Driver side rear seat speakers are not working. Are they on a fuse? Haven't had time to look over the owner's manual. If not fused what else could be happening?
View 4 RepliesLooking for recommendations for a well fitting seat cover for this series of trucks? My driver's side is tearing (12 years of people dragging their rear ends across it will do that) and the foam cushion is starting to lose small pieces. I try to stand on the running board when getting in/out to minimize wear on the seat, but I'm just delaying the inevitable, not preventing it. I bought a set at Autozone, but it's going back because it doesn't fit properly and that makes it look, well, kind of tacky.
I've tried a few local scrap yards, but nobody has a matching seat in my interior color that isn't already wearing out. Autozone or any other retailer just carry universal fit covers, which don't fit well enough to look appealing. My only other option is to have it re-upholstered, but I have a feeling that might be on the spendy side.
Why when it rains my rear seat on the driver side of my 2007 camry se is soaking wet on the outer edge of the seat and outside edge of the backrest.

View 2 RepliesI've noticed a noise coming out of the rear seat for awhile now. Noticed today the driver side rear seat won't latch into position. Don't know how long it was like that. Even the lever inside the trunk is stuck in the closed position. It seems like I shouldn't be able to fold the seat down but I can't get it to close. The dealer said it would be a time consuming fix because they actually have to crawl inside the trunk to get to the assembly.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Camry LE. It seems as if the wipers on my Camry are not wiping as far as they should/could. Specifically, the driver's side wiper only wipes to about 4" from the edge of the driver's/left side edge of the windshield.
This wasn't so much a problem in the rain, but in heavy snow, it leaves a pretty severe blindspot in the driver's left side of the windshiled. It seems as if the wiper should wipe at least another 2-3" further to remove more rain/snow from the windshield and give the driver a better line of view.
Further, when the wipers come back down, they come to a "clunk" as if they were coming down too far. Is there an adjustment for the wiper arms/wiper motor to allow them to wipe more of the windshield?
So, I just returned home from a 7-day caribbean cruise to find my drivers side rear brake dragging...hard. I know it can happen to any car but it's aggravating none the less. I guess I'll limp the 2 miles to the dealer on Monday morning...
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 touareg 2 V8. When we first got the truck everything was fine.. In the last month or so the driver's side mirror seems to be humming or buzzing at 50-70mph (80-120km/h)... If I fold the mirrors it goes away... Cross wind will make it louder, also it is intermittent... Maybe it's resonance?
View 3 RepliesThe drivers side rear door on our 2004 T'reg is stuck shut. Neither the interior or exterior door handle will open the door. I tried locking/unlocking it a few times, both with the remote and with the interior button. Is this a simple fix, or is it off to the dealership with me?
View 2 RepliesI have noticed new drivers seat squeak. It only happens with weight transfer side to side at lower speeds ( hard right and hard left below 30 mph, or entering a driveway). I have looked at several posts and it seems like people have had luck with simply tightening the bolts for the seat.
Well I did that and it still making the noise. I have isolated the noise to the lower part of the seat right behind the molding. Behind the molding and behind the seat control switches there is a white box for the switches. It seems like the noise is coming from there. I noticed that if I pop off the control switches and I loosen the screws for the control switches the noise gets a touch better.
I took it to the dealership and they told me they tried to add some oil between the leather and the molding but it did nothing since the source seems to be behind the molding.
After driving for 2 or 3 miles my car turns on this red triangle and says "problem" on the GPS. All the threads i have found this is accompanied by a check engine light but mine does not. On the gps there is also a symbol that i looked up in the manual, it says to take the car to a dealer. is there any way to know exactly what this triangle means? There is not CEL tripped, tried 4 code reader and nothing.
View 5 RepliesI installed my hks ssm yesterday,it sounded great except for a clunking noise every time i pass by an uneven road...i found out that the hks pipe was hitting "the round thing next to the shocks" ... that's why the oem muffler had a little round stopper.. I tried to wrap it with a little exhaust wrap thinking it would fix it but it did'nt, just wondering if there's a DIY or something for this problem.

The only thing that I can figure is that it is there to tell you that the gas cap is on the left-hand side of the car. That is somewhat useful (especially if you have a new Elantra as a rental car), but only if you know that it is supposed to mean that! So is that what it is for?
View 7 RepliesLast month my red triangle would pop up along with the yellow head light symbol. Most times it would be for a few seconds, other times it would stay on for a few minutes. Today I rotated my tires and I thought I would check out leveling sensor while the tires were off.
I took my left rear tire off and this is what I saw when the sensor was removed.
So everything looked normal to me. Looks can be deceiving. I've seen pictures on here of leveling sensors where the guts are completely rotted out. That's what I was thinking I was going to see. Here is a picture of the bolt side of the sensor:
Again, it looked normal to me. If you don't know what you're looking for, especially if parts aren't mangled, it can look normal. So I took the four screws off of the sensor and this is what I saw:
The inside of the sensor was in pristine condition! The springs are shiny gold and there was only a small amount of dust inside the sensor. I started to think about how the sensor works and I figured out that the sensor must move in some way. Hmmm. But there was no bracket on it to turn the sensor.
I have a 2005 Prius with 240,000 miles. About 4 months ago the triangle warning symbol appeared. A friend and I decided to pull the big battery out of the car and find the bad cells. We did that, replace two and the car worked fine for 4 months. The triangle warning has returned. We have done several things but the triangle remains. We pulled the big battery out and checked all of the cells. We replaced one that was probably OK. The latest reading was 8 volts on cells all but one at 7.9. We cleaned all of the bus contacts. We went into the maintenance mode on the MFD and found the aux battery to be 12.6 volts and under load it dropped to 11.8 with the lights on.
The aux battery went up to 14.1 volts with the car on. The inverter cooling fluid has movement and there is a slight humming which I believe to be the inverter pump running. The inverter fluid was topped off. The MFD showed the battery bars start at about three fourths full, drop down to one bar. With the engine running the battery bars climbed to the top purple. The engine turned off and the bars continued to climb to all green. All of this occurred in about 3 minutes while the car was parked. There were codes on the MFD while in maintenance mode. I understand that these codes are for the navigation system and the audio system.
