After several checks and resets , my Touareg clocks are fast by about 2 min/week. No other electrical problems. Not a known problem with my dealer. Clocks aren't hi-tech ... MFI may have clock module- seems overkill to change it.

View 23 RepliesMy 2008 chevy aveo has electrical problems, I think, sense I purchased it. First off the clock goes on and off randomly and doesn't keep time. Then the engine light is on one day then off the next. Sometimes on hot days sometimes on cold days. took it to Autozone and they have said two different times said there is a something wrong in the fuel sensor ??? took it to the Chevy dealer 3 time, Once they keep it for 3 days and said they couldn't get the engine light to come on.. ei. nothings wrong. the second time they said it was the sparkplugs and they charged me to replace them. 10 minutes after I got the car back the light came back on. The third time, again they said they can't find anything wrong.So the light as been going on one day and off others..I just ignored it...Yesterday, I was in 5th gear and I lost all power. engine still running but now power when I press on the gas. I managed to pull over, turn off the car and it acted fine. It happened again on the way home from work. Now the light is off and it seems fine.

View 1 RepliesLast week i took my '04 V10 in for tires/brakes/rotors with a local service shop. The next day they called saying one of the service attendants must have left the keys in the car overnight, because the battery isn't working right.Here is what happens (all within about 15 seconds)
1. Put key in ignition, engine starts normally
2. Multiple error lights immediately start flashing (engine, glow plug,tire pressure, etc, etc...
3. The MFI screen goes black (like the Tony Soprano finale)
4. the center console flashes "safe ..........." for a split second then goes blank as well.
5. the a/c does not run at all during this
6. the engine RPMs will not increase despite pressing on the accelerator.
7. the engine suddenly stops.
8. everything is then dead on the car.
This all takes place over about 10-15 seconds. This entire process can be reproduced by taking the key out and starting over. They are shipping the car out to a dealer for further evaluation, their computer gave them some sort of "battery learning error", but they were unable to reset it. I haven't heard of a dead battery behaving like this. The Touareg never ceases to amaze
I am away for a week and a half, the Touareg is at LAX in a indoor parking garage (WallyPark) the whole time. When I come back, the battery is dead. What is the probability of this actually happening? I know that it is common on 04's but I don't know how 05's are.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius base model. The dash clock loses almost 3-4 minutes a day. Its still under warranty so I'll likely take it into the dealer and get it checked out..
The only thing "different" is I have a Garmin HD Bluetooth connector (which streams engine stats like the Scanguage does to my GPS unit) hooked up to the OBDII port..but that *should* not cause any issues I think.
Everyday when I start my car the time is 3-5 minutes behind. I reset it each time and I'm still having the same problem. I have a 2013 and it's the original battery if that might have anything to do with. I just tested the voltage and that's good.
View 6 RepliesRecently my santa fe has been acting up. One time I got in and nothing came on, no light, door noise, nothing. I closed, then opened my door and everything turned back on, clock reset itself and the cd changer kept shuffling through the cds. Another time this happens before I got in the car. I opened my door to hear the cd changer shuffling and the clock had reset. This has happened 4 time in the pasted 3 weeks.

But I have a question, Should I put in new tranny fluid? cause when I try to go fast and go from 1st to 2nd it gets blocked, but if I'm going slow and slowly feather the clutch it goes into the second fine.
I have been having electrical issues with my 2001 manual transmission Jetta. At times I turn the car off, remove the key and the radio stays on, trip mileage and clock will reset. I also had where I was at a stopped at a traffic light and the ABS, engine light, and another light (not sure which one, it was too fast) flashed on for half a second. What should be looked at first and possible changed?
View 11 RepliesI am preparing to replace the compass/clock combo in the overhead display with a detachable ham radio head. I am now worried that the navigation unit might use some information provided by the compass. If removing the compass will disable any features on the navigation unit?
I don't know if the module in the overhead display contains the actual compass or if the compass provides any information to the navigation unit to supplement GPS information.
Noticed that the clock speeds up all on its own. I will set it correctly and then within a weeks time it will be minutes faster.
View 14 RepliesWe have replaced crank position sensor, ecm/ coil packs and computer. got good pressure on fuel rail. Starts cold, will run normally for approximately 5 minutes before it dies and will not start.
Sometimes we can hold accelerator to floor and it will "hit" a few licks but promptly dies when accelerator is released. We've checked fuses and relays; what are we missing?
Last night I noticed that my overhead clock and compass were dark (turned out it was dead). I tried to access address 6E on my Vag, but it can't be found. This appears to be the ONLY thing not working. BTW, my onstar still works.

I always have to press the button, but it only stays on for a few minutes. I want to keep it on permanently when I turn on the lights.

View 15 RepliesHere is my question.. 94 Z28 38K 6spd. Starts right up and runs well, for about 15-20 minutes then will shut down( like the key was turned off) When this happens I have no signal to either the ignition module or to the injectors.
This car was damaged by an idiot that flooded the dist. with coolant doing a flush. They replaced it with a Advance auto remain. This is when the trouble started. I did replace the I/M with an AC OEM Module, no change, verified all wiring from the computer to the Dist. and I/M. All checked out. I am thinking that the cheap remain unit is my problem and am looking to get the MSD Opti spark system to hopefully fix and to prevent this problem from happening again.
I cannot retrieve codes (94 won't flash CEL codes). Is there any other method of diag I could use to verify my suspicions. Oh, there is not response from the Tech either once the engine dies.
