I am on occasion getting a warning on my instrument cluster regarding my locking diff. System Fault!! Workshop!! is displayed. As well the adjustment knob on the center console flashes yellow.
View 11 RepliesSo I'm driving my kids to school, and this light pops up on the dash (with a chime, of course). So for fun, I had my son pull out the owners manual and look for it.
It isn't in the manual.. In fact, the book shows NOTHING in that cluster location.
Luckily I got a picture of it, 'cause it disappeared after about 20 minutes.
The instrument cluster settings has not been working and they would not set when i would try to do this.It would go back to the same setting as before.They checked it on the computer and everything would register like it was ok but the computer could not detect the fault.Come to find out it needs a new instrument cluster and that was the fix for it after they took three more Tregs apart to make sure it would either work or not work at all.They all worked except for mine.It is being replaced and shipped overnight.
View 3 RepliesMy dashboard has a rattle (surprise!) in the instrument cluster and today I have located the source of the noise. It comes from the right side of the hood piece over the dials. The right corner of the front edge of that hood rattles against the rest of the console. It can be fixed by applying a little piece of the electric tape or a piece of foam on the inside of that hood. I do want to go to the dealer and I'd prefer to fix such a minor problem by myself.
Looking for a schematic on how to take the dashboard apart? I wonder, why this dashboard hood consists of 2 pieces made of hard plastic attached without any padding? Of course, they will rattle!
Today I had the joy of covering 200+ miles on my W12 today. While I was out and about there were 3-4 times I went around a right hand turn somewhat quickly and a "check please lights" warning appeared on the instrument cluster. At the end of the day I inspected the exterior lights with all working or so it seems. I found it odd that this only appeared during sharp turns to the right.
View 10 RepliesBought a VAG cable, got VCDS 12.12.0 running. Found the instrument cluster and changed the region to ROW(rest of world)(I have a US Tiguan). The center screen on the cluster changes( as in F change to C, Miles change to Kilometers, everything is ok). However, after recoding the cluster the airbag, ABS, and ESP warning lights come on. Once I revert all changes back to the US coding, everything is again ok.

Only thing working on instruments on steering wheel is the left side is the radio and phone and volume and mode right side of steering wheel not working but nothing is illuminated!!!!???? On wheel
Noticed a clicking noise coming from the steering column or instrument cluster. This usually occurs when the car is warming up, but I have noticed it other times as well.

View 12 RepliesThe brake pads worn symbol has lit up in the instrument cluster on my wife's 2008 Touareg V8. The car has 33K. Per Tom Bush VW in Jacksonville, both pads and rotors must be replaced. This is without even looking at it.
Per Osteen VW also in JAX, I might not have to replace the rotors. They stated that what they have seen is that usually the rotors don't get replaced until the second visit to replace pads.
I own a 2012 Toyota Camry LE (TCLE), and recently I've noticed that the "instrument cluster" shows "MAINT REQD" warning light on for more than a few seconds when I start the car. All other warning lights do turn off while the "MAINT REQD" is still ON for a few seconds more than I usually remember. This car has about 25K miles, and I bought it with 19K miles. Should I take it to a dealer for a check up? By the way, I was waiting until the end of February to take the car for a oil change, but I am now concerned with this stupid WARNING light
View 14 RepliesI have a 2011 F150 supercrew 4x4 5.0, it has almost 8k miles. I have looked around online to see if this is a common issue but haven't found anything really. The airbag warning light in the instrument cluster will come on and stay on randomly. Some days it only lights up when I start the truck, other days it will turn on and stay on until I restart the truck. I think I have a glitch or a malfunction in a switch somewhere with the Airbag system. I will be calling the dealership about it after we finish the Easter Weekend.
View 5 RepliesHaving issue with the 2006 Touareg instrument clusters. The upper left hand corner of the instrument cluster is getting dim. Also, my wife was driving to work the other day, and she stated that she heard what sounded like electrical arcing behind the console. Just curious. She has had the touareg in for service for the air bag error, which they had to order a part. Also, a mysterious headlight error keeps popping up, but then goes away. I don't want a fireball touareg.
View 5 RepliesMy Escape is starting to have starting problems. I go to start it and all of the instrument cluster warning lights come on, but the truck doesn't start. If I wait a little while, all of the sudden it starts but all of the sudden the cluster lights start flashing, the various warning beeps sound off, the emergency flashers go off, etc. This lasts anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes until everything resets and goes back to normal. What is causing this?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2004 f 450 cab and chassis truck that the problem started out with the radio not coming on. So I asked the local dealer and he gave me a wiring diagram. I pulled the fuse box out and checked the wire from the fuse box to the radio and it works. Great. But he also said I could take the fuse box apart and check to see if their was a broken connection in it. So I did and could only get so far with it. It has a lot of pin on one side that go all the always through and are soldered on both ends. So I put it all back together and reinstalled it. Now the instrument cluster does not work. Not even the warning lights. The interior light doesn't come on either or the door chime. Is it possible to melt the solder off and open the fuse box completely and check all the connections.
View 1 RepliesIt's Sunday afternoon and -20 degrees in northern Wisconsin. We are at the cabin after a nice weekend in the snow. I start the treg and the MFI has a yellow differential symbol. Displaying Status, the MFI says "System Fault" and "Workshop!" That doesn't sound good so I call 24 Hr assistance and they can send a tow truck 90 miles but that can't tell me what the warning means. Naturally, the Owner's lit says nothing about this warning.

View 3 RepliesJust a quick question about the locking differential. I'm just wondering can you activate the locking diff while turning or on the gas pedal? Because today when I was climbing up an icy hill, I thought I'd turn on the locking diff,I was still on the gas when I pulled the switch. For a second I saw a warning on my dashboard, but quickly went away before I had a chance to read it. Just wondering in what conditions you can lock the diff. I also hear that you couldn't activate it while turning at a certain degree?
View 7 RepliesWith DRLs enabled and a Euro switch in Auto, I get HIDs, city lights and side markers during the day - no DRL indicator on instrument cluster.. With switch in Off, I get only HIDs, but with DRL indicator lit. In Auto I expected only HIDs as DRL and DRL indicator lit. No city lights or sides.
View 2 RepliesTurned my lights on in my 2001 VW Passat and my instrument cluster lights are no longer working. The area showing MPG and Outside temp is functional but nothing else is. The lights for the radio, fan hazard sign etc are all fine.
