I'm about to remove my door panel and it has an airbag. The usual saying seem to be to disconnect negative terminal from battery. Is that it? I can then disconnect airbag safely if required?

View 3 RepliesI just bought a 2010 RX450h and it is in overall great condition. The leather is damage though on the Rear Driver side door panel, so I am trying to remove it and get it repaired. I have removed 3 screws :
-one behind the door open/close latch
-one under the wood/window switch
-one in the handle area to pull door and close
I am now trying to take the panel off and have the bottom part pulled off. But I can't seem to pry open the top part... Am I missing something or a screw? Is there some trick? I am scared to break it.
I gave my Prius to my mom a year ago. She was complaining that the rear door lock behind her can sometimes stick, resulting in it locking or not locking. Also any tips and DIY on how to remove the rear door panel?

The rear driver's door on my car won't unlock. Manually, or remotely from any switch or remote. When we hit the door lock button on the remote or driver's door, there is no sound from the rear door. I can't open it manually either lock unlock, etc......
How can i remove the door panel while the door is locked? replacing the actuator assembly is no big deal as I have done it to the passenger front door, but I was able to get the door open to remove the panel. i don't believe I can remove the rear panel without getting the door open...
My drivers side window slide (crashed, but didn't break) into the door panel. When I try to put the window up, I hear clicking noises. All other windows work fine.

View 24 RepliesWhen shutting down/removing the key all doors unlock (not just the driver side - which is the norm in the CC and other previous VWs). Selecting "Drivers Only" via settings only changes the key fob operation. Same for others?
View 1 RepliesI stored my Camry over the winter, and it didn't do this before being stored.
Whenever I drive the car, park, remove the key, then open the door, it makes a single "ding" sound then stops. This has happened every time that I can remember.
Is this a warning sound for something? The tires are all filled, the bulbs are all fine... Very confused. The headlights have been in the "Auto" and "DRL Off" positions with no change in the chime, I think.

View 2 Repliesi tried to fix my door actuator in my 2009 prius. However after I closed my door, now I can't open it from the inside or outside. I can reach in the door and manually pull the level on the actuator and is still will not open.
Now I just want to get the actuator out and put a new actuator in. Hopefully this is possible and if so how? Yes I still have the interior panel off and the vapor barrier pulled back
How to remove the door speaker grills on a 3rd Gen IS or a 4th Gen GS350 (without removing the door panels)? They appear to have the same 7" black plastic grill between IS and GS model.
I tried to pop them off with my fingers but it wouldn't budge...my finger nails bent halfway back though.
I recently bought a 1994 Ford Ranger, XLT 4 cylinder supercab. They lost the door keys when they replaced the ignition because they never locked their doors. I bought new lock cylinders with keys and set out for an adventure. Removing the metal clamp that holds the cylinder in place was actually easier than I thought. It's that darn plastic piece connecting the cylinder to the rod for the lock system that will not break or come off. Here's the best picture I could find real quick. How do you get that vile piece of 20 year old plastic off? It's in a difficult place to get tools in there, and I can't seem to get leverage with a small screwdriver anywhere. What tips and tricks do y'all have?
View 1 RepliesMy driver's side window on my 2001.5 GLS V6 recently seems like it slipped off the track and won't go back up. When I push the window button, it's making a grinding noise. It sounds like the motor still works but either something is stuck in there or the window is off the track. My issue is how do I take the door panel apart so I can look at what is going on? Also, I'm fairly good at mechanical stuff but is this something I should leave to VW to fix?

View 4 RepliesHaving issue on RC where the door panel speakers cause a vibrating / buzzing noise within the door panel at certain frequencies? I'm not talking loud either. It is intermittent. If a put the slightest bit of pressure on the panel, the noise disappears. Sounds to me like the sound waves are causing a wire or something small to vibrate within the door panel. The speaker itself it fine.
