When it rains or snows, the floor only of my 86 Civic Si hatchback ends up soaked, sometimes standing water. There is no visible leak anywhere, no water leaking in anywhere obvious. It's just the floor, the water seems to come up from beneath the carpet. Replaced windshield, didn't work. The car is otherwise in great shape, I bought in new in 1986.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Honda Pilot that has developed a bad leak. The floor on the driver and passenger side gets wet. The driver side is usually damp and the passenger side floor is soaked, squishy, like a wet sponge. I have taken apart the dash and cleaned out the AC ducts and replaced the filter. I found some small leaves, not a lot. No luck, still wet. I took off the plastic cowl under the windshield, it was really clean there, no leaves or junk and no signs of water there at all. Still gets wet.
The area that is wet is right along the rocker panel near the plastic cover for the door sill, on both driver and passenger sides of the car. The carpet is only wet in the front seat "foot wells", not the back seat areas. I looked at the seals, they seem to be working fine and cannot find anyplace water could be getting in. Either from the top side or underneath. I thought it was drying out then we got lots of rain the other day and the passenger side is saturated and the driver side is damp again. Not sure if it was from driving or sitting in teh driveway/parking lot at work. The car is starting to smell!
So I have no clue where and how this leak started. My 2003 Honda Civic Ex has 133000 miles well earned. This leak has to be stopped. The carpet has been ripped out to dry, but I will probably replace it anyways. Some Ideas have already been given to me. First one, my car does have a system in it(meaning sub and amp cords running through firewall), so water could possibly pass through that hole. Second is checking the windows, door seals and if any welds or cracks have not been filled by the auto body shop. This would be from the one known accident from previous owner. Damage was done to the rear left drivers side panels, behind the door. The problem was looked over but nothing was found. Third would be to check, again the windows and doors rubber insulation strips. Also the fourth and most interesting idea, was that the vents or drains that are responsible for the water that flows down the front window and into those vents, I obviously have no real idea of what these things are called, might be clogged, as well as the channels that the vents are connected too.
View 2 RepliesI have a '98 Honda Civic with 230K miles on it. Last month, I suddenly saw few drops of coolant on my garage floor. I opened the hood and saw coolant splashed over the engine. I opened the coolant reservoir and it was empty. Surprisingly, the car never overheated and neither did the temp needle go up. I took the car to the mechanic (Honda shop) and they said that the radiator is leaking. I replaced the radiator and after driving for couple of weeks, the same issue re-occurred.
The coolant ran low in the reservoir and there was coolant splash over the engine. I took the car back to the shop and they said that the hose was not properly installed. They fixed it and said there is no sign of leak. I have been driving for a week now and check the coolant routinely. I have noticed that the coolant level has again dropped significantly. But, after the last fix, I do not see any visible sign of leak. There is no evidence of coolant anywhere under the hood. I am not sure if there is something else going on now. Is there something else I should check?
I drive a 2009 Honda Fit (and I am very happy with it). Last week, after some intense rain last week in Greenville, NC, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that there was a puddle of water on the floor of the passenger's side. I looked for a cracked window or maybe a leak from the windshield, but I couldn't see anything; besides, the floor was the only part that was wet (the dashboard, the seat, and the inside of the door were completely dry). Today I took the car in for an oil change to the local Honda dealer and I mentioned the issue to them, and asked whether they could take a look at it. They did and they said they could not find a leak anywhere. Where the water might come from? Is this common? How to prevent it from happening again?

View 6 RepliesWe had a big rain storm the other night and I didn't drive my car today. So I get in after I get home and notice a god damn flood on my driver side front floor I made sure the drains in the rain tray were clear the other night when I first got the car. Is this more than likely coming from the sunroof drain? I ran some water down the sunroof drain while it was open and it seemed to come out. The water looked to be coming from where the hood release is as there were a few drips right below it.

View 4 RepliesOur '99 Explorer leaks when it rains. The water drips from under the dash on the driver's side floor. A while back a dealership put all sorts of sealant around the windshield gasket and that seemed to work for a while.
Where are the drains for the door channels, windshield and the air intake where the windshield wipers are connected? I'd like to make sure they are clear.
After several days of rain I found that the drivers side carpet is soaked. Upon further investigation I realized it was coming from underneath the car rather than from the side. I was able to put my hand under the carpet and feel the metal body underneath. It was soaked. I have never had this problem before and have not been in an accident. The car drives very well and has 130 miles. I recently replaced the transmission and was hoping to have this for a few more years.
View 1 RepliesI have a new 2015 Accord. After a recent rain storm I found about an inch of water in the well where the spare tire is stored. I took it to the dealer and they ran numerous leak tests but could not reproduce the problem.
Since the car was parked during the storm, I don't see how the water could have gotten in there except via one of the light assemblies or by getting past the gasket. In other words, it wasn't blown up into the trunk from the roadway. The puzzler is that the carpet in the car was dry when I found the water. I googled this for hours and I don't find others with 2015 trunk leak complaints. All the complaints are for earlier model Accords.
My 1999 Honda Civic has a leak where the plastic meets the rug by the drivers side floor. It is a about 7-9" from where the driver door opens. It only happens when it rains. I tested the moon roof drain hoses. They work fine. What is causing this?
View 3 RepliesJust sopped up about a quart of water on the pass side floor. the wiring harness channel (along the door on the floor) was full as was the corner where the fuse box is along with the whole jutting up to the seat!
Was thinking I has a windshield leak, tested out fine. I have alot of AC water draining under the truck, thought that ws O.K. too. Then did an experiment after dryin the floor and juting.
peeled it all back and ran the AC for 20 minutes till I had a good puddle on the ground, and sure enough the "joint" lowest and closest to the tranny tunnel was dripping. Thinking the box is full of water now. Where is the actual drain hole for the AC? can't find it under the "heat shield" crap under the truck.
I have a 2000 CRV with 95,000 miles. In a heavy rain I get water leakage on my driver's side floor. Have had a new windshield installed but it still leaks. Plan to keep vehicle for 2-3 years more.
View 3 RepliesI just purchased my daughter a used 2006 Prius and we found water in the rear right passenger floor board this morning. We have only had the car 3 days. There are on leaks that I could find inside the car. I looked in the tire well and water was there and also near the 12Volt battery also. The brownish/yellow sealant in the tire well that goes around the bottom is also in my 2010 Prius but I noticed that my daughters 2006 Prius the sealant or what I believe to be bodyflex is cracked. I am going to have a body person look and see if he agrees with me that this bodyflex is cracked.
View 2 RepliesI've had a few problems lately with water leaking into the vehicle. The second row passenger side seatbelt is getting soaked, and water can be seen dripping out of the small slot in the wall panel that the seatbelt comes out of. Of course, it all makes its way down to the floor, which gets soaked.
Luckily, I've got third row seating, so the second row passenger side seat flips up and I can get access to the floor and soak up the water with towels.
The leaking only seems to occur when the vehicle is parked with the front pointing uphill (even on very minor grades). I've tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate the problem with a hose, but I only have a level area to test in, and don't have any service ramps to get the front elevated.
From reading various posts on here, and elsewhere, it seems that there are a few possibilities:
- The "dam" that surrounds the sunroof to collect water and send it to the drains is overflowing and water is getting into the wall of the vehicle.
- The sun roof drains are plugged, which may be contributing to the dam overflowing
- The sun roof drain tube has become disconnected inside the roof or wall
Can the rear drain tubes are routed down the "B" or "C" pillar? Depending where they go, I may be able to eliminate a disconnected tube as the problem. I've also read that there was a service bulletin related to increasing the height of the dam, but haven't determined yet if it applies to my vehicle.
Seems like when we get alot of rain and i run the blower in the truck water will blow out on the passenger side floor. it only happens for a minute or to and u can hear it swishing around in there. I blew the condensate hose that sticks out about the passenger side wheel well that drains the AC condensate is there something else i should be looking for? a mixing door that isn't closing? Some sort of drain in the blower clogged? its not antifreeze leaking. it is water.
View 2 RepliesIt's from rain, but only getting to the front passenger floor area. And this just started in the last month. Decades ago I had a VW Rabbit that would get serious water, in all 4 quadrants, in rain or a car wash. But I figured that one out, the "gutter" in front of the windshield was jammed up with dead leaves, once those were cleared, no more water coming in.
So, when this Avalon leak appeared, that was the first area I checked. There was a bit of leaves and twigs, which I cleared away, but the worst of it was on the drivers's side and as I mentioned, no problem there.
It seems rain is coming into the passenger floor area. When I have checked the bottom windshield area I have notice that some rubber/plastic line is not inserted all the way but cant be inserted. Accent 2006....
View 4 RepliesAfter heavy rains there has been water on the floor behind the drivers seat or down by the pedals (depending on how the car is parked). Is this the result of a bad door seal? It definitely seems to be coming in around the door.
