Jaguar - S-type :: RPM Needle Went To Right?

What would cause my RPM needle to go all the way to the right (red zone) with no change in the engine. It most often happens the first few minutes of driving, but can happen at any time. The engine does not rev up at all. I have taken it in but they could find nothing that would cause this to happen.

Jaguar - X-type :: 2004 - A/C Gas Smell

I have a 2004 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 that I use as a daily driver. This morning, when I got in the car I immediately noticed a strong smell of gas. I've had an empty gas can in the trunk for a couple days so I wrote it off as being due to that and expected the smell to dissipate after a bit. I turned on the A/C and the smell only got worse. Obviously I've got a leak somewhere, the weird thing is that the engine bay doesnt smell at all and I'm not able to smell it when outside the car. I plan to take it in to get looked at (my poor wallet) but I'd like to have a good place to start.

Jaguar - X-type :: 2007 - Vibrations Begins At 55

I have just purchased this vehicle with only 19k miles. The problem, if there is one is as follows. At about 55 a vibration begins to occur and stays steady as speed increases. Had all of the tires replaced and thrust forced balanced. Yet still this vibration comes in. The car is perfectly smooth before 50. I drove another 07 of the exact same type and it appears that it had the same issue. Any further information that may alleviate this problem.

I have a 2003 Jaguar X-type that gives me trouble when the temperature drops below 32 degrees. I have to warm it for at least 10 minutes. During that time it coughs and sputters and my check engine light flashes. Once the light stops flashing I am able to drive. What is going on?

Jaguar - X-type :: 2002 - Jerking Like Slipping Out Of Gear When Driving And Shift Up

My Jaguar X-Type has a 5-speed manual transmission, and when I am driving and shift up, sometimes it starts jerking pretty violently like it might be slipping out of gear, and I have to shift into another gear to get it to stop. It seems to be exacerbated if I am accelerating. I can always get it to stop by shifting, but am afraid at some point that it will not slip into another gear and I'll be stranded. I had a mechanic look at it but he has no idea what is causing the problem and I don't want to pay for multiple repairs that may or may not fix the problem! The car's got about 125,000 miles.

Jaguar - Xj6 :: 89 - Battery Draining Too Much?

I own an 89 jag xj6. Something seems to be draining the battery. It can start fine in the evening but by the next morning its dead. If it sets too long its completely dead.. nothing... The alternator appears to be charging, after running it awhile it will start again. I put a new battery in it several months ago. The former owner said something about it maybe being a switch of some sort that has something to do with the climate control system?

Jaguar X :: 2004 - Delay In Shifting As The Car Accelerates

I purchased an 04 X-Type with 53k about a year ago. Nice car, great ride and style. There is one thing, though, that annoys me. It seems to shift late or shift awkwardly as the car accelerates. When I depress the accelerator at moderate speed (20- 35 mph or so), the car shifts but seems to delay (late shift). It's not a kick- just an awkward shift. Is this a characteristic of this model? No other issues. Solid car.

Jaguar - Xj6 :: Misfiring Cylinder 5 / Car Started Shaking With CEL Came On

I used fuel injector cleaner in two different gas tanks; the car started shaking and the check engine light came on. The mechanic changed a sensor but the car was doing the same; I was told that it will take 4 full gas tanks to clean the gas lines. I went to autozone and they told me that the car had a misfire on cylinder 5 and multiple misfire as well. I do not trust the mechanic any more since I had to take the car back to them several times and still is not fixed. They also did a full tune up and the check engine light still on and flashes when I am going about 55 mph.

Jaguar - Xj8 :: 2001 - Shifter Won't Engage Properly

This problem started about a year ago, was occasional. but over the past few months has rapidly worsened.

Before I can shift out of park I must depress the brake which is suppose to unlock the shifter and engage the brake light, for some reason this doesn't happen sometimes, and it may take up to 20 brake pump actions in order to get it to release the shifter.

My 1988 jaguar it don't matter whether the weather is hot or cold it will run great for about six or seven miles then it will just shut off like you turned the key off. well then you can wait about 15 or 20 minutes and ti will start and run fine for another few miles off again.

I have a 97 XJ6 and the driver side door handle snapped off. For a while I just reached in through the window to open the door from the inside handle. Then that broke too. Now I can't open the driver side door at all. I took the inside door panel off as far as i could thinking I could open the door from inside the panel, but the connection from thew inside handle (the cable) is broken back at the door lock. I can't get it open that way either.

1996 Jaguar XJ6 4.0 Litre Base, 43000 miles... While driving, this car, suddenly accelerator pedal becomes very hard to push and car will not move at all even if you press hard pedal to the floor( Requires a lots of force). If I put brakes on, shift the transmission to reverse and to then to drive, it will start moving again. No check engine light comes on and there are no codes stored in computer. This never happens on cruise control. Car starts flawlessly even on cold morning. Battery is new and charging system works fine. Spark plugs were changed at 30,000 miles so also direct ignition coil on cylinder No.3 .....

Jaguar - Xj8 :: 1994 - Smoking At Start Up / Engine Refuses To Turn Over?

I have a '94 XJS Jaguar that has been having repeated issues starting and has lately been putting out a dramatic plume of grey smoke each time has actually succeeded in starting. Currently, the engine refuses to turnover (or even give the usual "crank"); however, all the electrics in the car - lights, radio etc - seem to work perfectly fine.

Attempts to jump the car have proved futile. Previous trips to the repair shop have included battery replacements, battery cable replacements, tightening of this, that and the other thing as well as a transmission cleaning, all to no avail. What the issue might be?

The car runs great, but ABS brake always engaged at start-up. Heavy vibration. The ABS warning light comes on after a couple of miles and then the brakes work fine. Windshield wiper turns on, works for about 30 seconds, and then stops in mid-stride. You then turn off the wiper, then turn it back on, and it works for about another 30 seconds. Intermediate does not work, slow speed starts and fast speed starts, but they only work for about 30 seconds, stopping in any random wiper arm position. (When set on intermediate, slow speed works, again for about 30 seconds.) What do I fix, the control arm on the steering column?. The motor is working, the wiper arm is working, just the brain has "a mind of its own".

Jaguar - Xj6 :: 1994 - Very Slight Leak From Gasket On Newly Replaced Water Pump?

Recently, I bought a new-to-me 1994 Jaguar XJ6 which had a small laundry list of things that needed work. Amongst them was to have the waterpump and belt replaced. Long story short, after getting it back from the shop (I'm a repeat customer) and 50 miles down the road, I checked things out under the hood. I saw that there was a small bit of coolant sitting on top of the pump where the mating surfaces meet. It appeared that was some weeping from the gasket. I'm a little perplexed because this shop hasn't done wrong by me before, but there's a first time for everything. Is it possible that the cold weather in North Dakota (routinely -10) is a factor? It doesn't appear to be a catastrophic leak by any means, but I intend to keep my eye on in it. In the mean time, I made sure the bolts nearest the leak were adequately tight and put some red RTV sealant where it was leaking. Is it possible this problem will "go away" or do I have to try to shake down the shop and get them to re-check it/fix it? Frankly, I'd rather not have to deal with them again, but I paid them good money to get it fixed.

Honda - Accord :: RPM Needle Is Underneath On The Peg At 0?

I have a RPM gauge that has seemingly done the impossible. Instead of resting on the peg at '0,' it is now underneath it. Effectively, it no longer registers any RPM because of its location. I wish I had seen how this happened.
