I have a 2007 Saturn vue hybrid that has the check engine light on-the code says POAC. I can't find anything on the Internet what this code means. I'd like to fix it myself instead of bringing it to a dealer and getting charged big bucks! What this code means?
View 3 RepliesI love my car 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS but once it hit 60K miles, the engine light came on and it has been eating gas. I get up to 160 miles per tank now. My MP fluctuates from 12-25 MPG. I literally watch it jump when I fill up the car, then a few miles later, it drops again. Code P2196 always comes up. (stuck rich)
Dealer advised me to do fuel system flush.
Dealer replaced upstream o2 Sensor
Dealer replaced Check Valve
New Spark Plugs last Fall due to hearing really loud spark knocking... and also re-gapped last week. Now I can hear them slightly again.
Engine light just came back on after almost 200 miles.
Reading some other threads- apparently this seems to be a known issue for my car.
I am wondering if I should try replacing the downstream o2 sensor.... OR consider trading my car.
Check engine light came on and stopped by the local autoparts store to get the error code.

Where is this O2 sensor? I've replaced O2's on other cars I've had and just want to make sure I replace the right one.
I always take care of my car oil changes on time. And in the last week my check engine light turned on for a few hours then turned off. And today it turned on again. I kinda regret getting rid of my scan gauge now.
View 11 RepliesWe've had the Check Engine Light go on and off every few days for a YEAR now. Mechanic can't diagnose or fix. Code always returns as Random Misfire. Have tried reprogramming computer twice, flushed the engine once. Notice that it goes away with lots of highway driving but always comes back when we are in town which is most of the time. Rarely get on the highway. Commute is 5-7 miles. Manual transmission. Our repair guys are stumped. Car runs just fine! No problems apparent other than the light. They say the next thing we should try is replacing the ignition coil. Nothing has yet worked and this sounds expensive... Could the Check Engine Light itself be faulty?
View 8 RepliesWhen I was driving to school this morning my check engine light went on and I noticed that my car is running very rough (suddenly). I also noticed that the check engine light would blink when accelerating at a stop light then go solid again when driving. I drive long distances between school and work and I think I won't be making it to work later due to this issue. This is a Saturn Ion II 2005 and gets regular maintenance on time.
View 15 RepliesWe have a 2004 Saturn Vue that has been in the shop FOUR times for a loss of power issue. The check engine light will come on and almost simultaneously the loss of power light will come on and the car will pretty much come to a stop. So far they have replaced the computer, gas pedal, wiring to the computer, cat converter...it is still doing it!
View 30 RepliesMy daughter has a 1996 Saturn SL with something over 100K miles on it. It runs generally well, although using a quart of oil every thousand miles or so. It passes the smog check required for her registration. It's had new spark plugs within the recommended period.
Recently she went on a road trip, and hit stop-and-go traffic for a couple of hours in one large city; it being January in a warm climate, the weather that day was presumably neither very hot nor cold. The Check Engine light came on. Fortunately she had the time to take it to a mechanic recommended by a friend local to the area, who pronounced the engine OK. She proceeded without incident for the rest of her thousand mile trip.
Sounds to me like the emissions crossed some threshold beyond "marginal" during the lengthy idling and running at low speed. Question: if we wanted to avoid such a condition, what kind of repair would be recommended.
I recently had my check engine light come on (again) and it's registering a P1175 error (again). This is apparently indicates a problem with the "fuel trim cylinder balance" in bank 2. And according to what I've read can be caused by a number of things, such as a faulty oxygen sensor, ignition problem, fuel injection problem, or some other condition.
I say again, because I had it come on about two months ago with the same error and when I took it in they flushed the fuel injectors, which was apparently recommended by bulletin 03-06-04-030H.
Unfortunately the light has come on again, and stayed on. This happened after I stopped to get gas on my 6 hour drive from visiting family in Michigan. Another interesting data point is that this code has been in the warning state in my engine for over a year from what I can tell. I've only used my OBD2 reader a couple of times. First was 9/2011, and no problem was detected. Six months later in March 2012, I checked it again and P1175 was a "pending code". I hadn't used the reader until this problem. But now, over a year later, the issue has apparently moved from a pending problem to a more serious one.
What this all boils down to, is that I'm asking opinions as to what the problem may actually be. I'm curious at to what could have been so long in developing. I intend to take the car in to get looked at shortly, but in the mean time I figured I'd ask around.
For reference, my car is a 2008 Saturn Aura XE, with about 71K in mileage (over 13k since I got that reading in 2012).
I have a 2008 Camry Hybrid and recently got a "Check VSC System" warning light. A diagnostic resulted in a C0210 error code. The code is for a right rear speed sensor malfunction.
I had a local shop look at it and he replaced the hub accembly including the speed sensor. It didnt work. He and I took a ride and on his diagnostic tool, the speed reading for the right rear wheel was all over the place.
The next day he replaced it thinking that the new sensor was bad. This worked, however only for a day. Now the light had come on again with the same error.
I have been battling a random reduced power issue with my 2004 Vue, 85000 miles, 4 cyl engine with manual transmission. On random start ups I will get the reduced power and check engine lights. No codes are logged but the freeze data will read mostly 2176 and occasionally a 2101. I have replaced the throttle body and pedal assembly plus checked and reseated the ecm connections. The problem still shows up randomly at start-ups. If it does appear, it seems that if I shut the engine off, turn the key to on without the engine running for about a minute, then restart the car, the car will start ok. It's almost as if the ecm has to relearn the throttle or pedal positions when this occurs.

View 7 RepliesI have a problem with my 2002 prius. I was driving home from work when all of a sudden my Hybrid Warning light came on with the check engine light on. On the screen, it gives me a (PS, Battery, and ! ) and the "!" was the one lighting up. The engine was roughing up sounds like it was gonna stop itself so I pulled over to the side and it turned off by itself without me doing anything except to put it on park. Then, i took out my keys and tried restarting it and all i heard was the "Ready" beep but not the engine and it won't move when i step on the pedal. After waiting for 10 mins., i tried restarting it and it worked i drove away and got home safely with all the warning lights i mentioned earlier still on. (Note: i was driving w/ the A/C on because it was hot outside..around 90s, also it was not overheating nor it was any battery problem because all the electrical were working properly.)

View 14 RepliesThis morning, I tried to start the 2003 Prius and got a 'check engine' light and nothing. The cabin lights were bright so the 12V looked OK. After three tries, I used the VOM and measured 12.55 V on the battery. But the traction battery level looked unusually low.
So I tried again and it started. Using the ScanGauge, no codes were displayed. So I turned the car off and on three times and cleared the "check engine" light. Then I connected the Auto Ingenuity and read out:
P1636 - HV ECU Malfunction on the HV ECU to ECM bus.
C1213 - HV ECU Communication Circuit Malfunction between HV ECU and Brake ECU
P3002 - HV ECU Communication Malfunction on the HV ECU to Battery ECU
So it looks like there was an HV ECU problem that 'cleared while testing.' Certainly it makes sense to inspect the HV ECU connectors and re-seat them and clean out any debris.
My 2005 Prius has 105,000 miles. The check engine light came on for the first time ever. Dealer will diagnose tomorrow. If it's the main battery, should I sell it?
View 3 RepliesMy check engine light went off last month and when I had it looked at my dealership they said it was due to the seal where the gas cap locks into I believe. Anyway, a week later my light went off again and now they are saying it is the charcoal cannister which I found out is very expensive. Here are my two questions. First of all, can I get this part replaced and installed at a non-dealership? My second question is since they reset my check engine light, it came back on a few days later for two days and then turned off completely. Should the light have turned off on its own? Should I be concerned that it is no longer on? It just makes me wonder if they diagnosed this issue correctly or not.
View 7 RepliesA few days ago my "Check VSC" warning came on along with the check engine and traction lights being on. I left my car in a parking garage for a week when I was on vacation and the lights came on once I started the car after getting back from my trip.
I have had the "Check VSC" warning before and I fixed it by replacing my gas cap. My gas cap seems fine this time around so I got my codes scanned and the only one that came up was P0300. Having this issue with the 2007 Lexus GS 350? I still feel like it's my gas cap because I bought a cheap replacement last time around.
