I just bought a 2008 Highlander. I'm thrilled with the quality of the vehicle so far. This model has a tire pressure monitor system which I can't seem to reset. I've set the pressure in all tires at 34psi and 44 for the spare, and the indicator light will not go out. I press the reset button and the indicator light never blinks to indicate that a reset is in progress.
View 29 RepliesI took my truck in because the tire pressure monitor light was on. I tried resetting it and that didn't work. I took the truck to the tire store where I purchased the tires. They checked all the sensors with test equipment and 4 out of 5 were bad. So I had them replace all the sensors including the spare. The light is still on. I followed the reset procedure and confirmed all 5 tires were at 32 psi. when I perform the reset the light blinks once and then stays on. What Now?

View 2 RepliesOur tire pressure monitor light came on recently. I checked the tire pressures, topped off all four and reset the TPMS button, but no luck. The light blinks, but then stays on. I'm thinking I've got one of two problems. Either the spare has low pressure or the batteries are used up in the sensors. The car is an early 2009. Seven full years seems kind of early for the batteries to be finished in the TPMS units.
View 3 RepliesTwo days ago I had new tires put on my 2007 Toyota Highlanders and since that time my air pressure sensor light keeps coming on. The tires are the right size, I checked in the owners manual. I've taken it back to the shop that put on the tires twice. The first time they told me the spare was low on air. the second time they told me the batteries in the air pressure sensors are dying and need to be replaced. I thought that sounded like a lame excuse so left the shop and called the Toyota Dealer and asked if the air pressure sensors have batteries. The service department at the Toyota dealer laughed and said no, they run off the car's battery. I called the shop back to tell them I was very disappointed and unhappy that they tried to sell me something that doesn't exist and they stood by the batteries in the sensors story and claimed they would show them to me if I would come back to the shop. Who should I believe? Replacing the batteries in tire air pressure sensors?
View 19 RepliesI have a 2004 Touareg with 70,000 miles, and until recently the tire pressure monitors have worked perfectly. Now I'm getting a Flat Tire warning, or a warning of a defective wheel, or when I try to reset it tries to learn but fails, or it sets a tire pressure of say 42 but the pressure is only 38. The Dealer says "its a known problem", he thinks they're going to issue a recall, but doesn't have a fix.
View 5 RepliesSo, I seem to have horrible luck with valets. One curbed my wheel a couple weeks ago. The TPMS light came on and all tires were equally underinflated... I thought it was due to a recent cold snap. Well, once I got around to inflating, I noticed the curbed wheel and the sidewall bulging tire. Nonetheless, i tried to reset my TPMS light and there is no button in the glove box. I have a thing that should house a button, but there is nothing behind it. Is this usual?

View 13 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Highlander. Ever since I got 4 new tires (~1 year ago), my low pressure light goes on about once every 6 weeks. Each time, there is at least one tire that's dropped about 2 lbs below recommended psi. Had it to the dealer (where I purchased the tires) and they told me there's no leak in any of the tires; that the low psi is because of fluctuation in the weather temps and subsequent fluctuation in tire pressure. I've never had this issue on any other car before. Are they pulling my chain b/c they don't want to replace bad tires or is this a legit reason?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2010 F250 Super Duty with 18" factory wheels. I started having intermittent Tire Pressure Monitor Faults. My research lead me to believe that the seven year old sensors were probably running out of battery life. So... When I had new tires installed I also had new FoMoCo sensors installed and I purchased a FoMoCo tool (TPMS 19) to train the new sensors. My problem is that I cannot get the sensor training process to work. When I put the truck into the train mode and try to retrain the LF tire, nothing happens and eventfully the horn beeps twice and the dash reads that the training failed. Where is the receiver that the sensors communicate with? Could it be bad?

View 6 RepliesMy TPM light went on coming into work this morning. I did a visual check, everything looked ok. When I got to work got out the old gauge and they all show about 28 psi. The manual states it can go on due to 'natural causes' but doesn't really go into detail. Will it goes on if any/all tires fall below a certain psi? I'll be going back out later to check again to see if one of the tires is going flat.

View 1 RepliesI have never had this problem with my 2010 Matrix until this week when I put the summer rims with transponders back on.
As per the manual, I turned the key to "on" and held the reset button. The pressure warning light is supposed to slowly flash 3 times to indicate that it has been reset, then go out. Holding the reset button has no effect this year and the pressure warning light just stays on.
The manual says to take it to a Toyota service centre if the reset procedure fails.
How to reset and remove the error code on the tire pressure monitoring system?

View 14 RepliesWhen I bought a used camry 5 years ago and drove it on the highway, my front tire busted and damaged the fender cuz it had too much air!! I wonder if it shows high pressure on my 2010 gen III Prius v with ATP. I know that the tires are special on this v version but still I like to keep a slightly higher pressure in the front ones because the lane keep assist feature works better with higher tire pressure. Summer is coming up so that gets me worried what to do with tire pressures.

View 3 RepliesFirst cold day of the year today and naturally my TPMS light came on. Checked the pressures with my own gauge, all at 34 psi. Inflated them all to 38psi and the TPMS light is still on. Drove a little ways - still on. Checked pressures again - still 38psi. I had this happen once before in mid-winter two years ago and I can't remember what I had to do to reset the TPMS light. Mine isn't one of the ABS/ESP systems so I don't have a reset button - I need to do something with the VAGCOM but I don't recall what.
What's weird is that the TPMS threshold should be 7psi per wheel shouldn't it? And my light came on when it was only 4psi down. Is there somewhere I can check and find out what the ECU thinks the threshold is - again with my VAGCOM?
