Anxiety :: Citalopram Teeth Chattering, Jaw Clenching And Toothache

Mar 15, 2016

I've been on citalopram 10mg for 2 weeks.

Iv started getting really bad teeth chattering and jaw aches.

Should I stop taking the medication and ask my dr for a new antidepressant or should I increase the dose to 20mg?

I was prescribed citalopram for anxiety.

I didn't have any physical symptoms of teeth chattering prior to taking cit.

Fibromyalgia Syndrome :: Hearing Loss - Constant Jaw Clenching/teeth Grinding ?

My hearing is usually very sensitive - even the ringing of the phone makes me jump out of my skin. However I seem to be unable to hear lower frequency sounds and have trouble hearing the television or conversations where there is background noise.  Anybody else have these problems.  My ears are not blocked and seem to be clear of wax.  Had heard that it could be related to nerve damage from constant jaw clenching/teeth grinding ?

Stopped Taking Citalopram - Yawning, Shaky And Teeth Grinding

I've just started taking Citalopram a day ago but already feel the side effects starting. Is it normal for them to start so soon? I feel weirdly sleepy and keep yawning. I also feel a bit shaky and for some reason I can't stop grinding my teeth. Are these symptoms or am I just imagining them because I know that I will be experiencing them soon? I would love for some people to share their experiences with the drug, it's taken me a while to get to the point where I've been comfortable enough to finally talk about my depression and start taking them.

Anxiety :: Wisdom Teeth Extraction

Getting my wisdom teeth out this Friday and I'm really scared. My lower right side is impacted and growing horizontal and causing my right cheek to be a bit swollen and my neck as well. I have slight jaw and tooth pain and war paint. Dentist prescribed antibiotics for 10 days and I started the course yesterday and going to continue it after the surgery to prevent infection. I am very scared of this procedure although so many people have gotten it done. I have extreme anxiety and this is causing it to sky rocket. My dentist sedated the patient which I'm glad about due to me not wanting to actually be aware of what they are doing. He doesn't do IV sedation he does oral sedation. I take two halcion pills and two antihistamine pills an hour before the appointment and I should be very relaxed by the time I get there and he will give more depending on how I am when I get there. Two friends did oral sedation though and said it was okay. But a lot more have done iv. I was told it's less of a sleep feeling with oral sedation because I'm not put out immediately but I will most likely not remember the actual procedure. I'm scared can someone share their wisdom teeth experiences and maybe if they took the pill or even just how it feels like to wake up after and stuff. I'm scared that I won't wake up from the sedation although I'm not gonna be actually sleeping.

Anxiety And Nervous Regarding Wisdom Teeth Extraction

I am getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I am very very nervous. I have severe anxiety all the time so this is not helping. I will be getting the sedation pills so I don't feel or remember the surgery. I am just scared about it and scared of the sedation etc. I just need some advice and encouragement please because I'm freaking out. I've been having so many complications this last month such as my jaw swelling and neck swelling on the same side as my impacted horizontal tooth. I got so scared that I had to make an appointment to get them out.

Citalopram :: Anxiety Out Of The Blue

The past 2 days have been really rough with what seems to be anxiety kicking up , almost to the point if there was a way to climb out of my body i would. Doing all i can to keep busy along with walking 5 km a day, Up until my period things seemed to be good... not sure what is going on! my doctor didn't seem to want to address it and i'm not sure why, now it seems i'm gonna have to go back again.

Citalopram For Anxiety But It's Not Helping Sleeping

I have been taking these pills for about 10 days and initially the side effects were awful, nausea, sick, no appetite, more anxious and virtually no sleep. After taking first pill in morning I realised it made me sleepy so switched to taking before bed in the hope it would help with my sleeping. Unfortunately not - did get one good night at weekend and felt so much better yesterday but last night it's like back to square one. Anyone got similar experience - currently on 10mg citalopram and don't see doctor again till November.

Citalopram :: Anxiety Is Back On Increasing The Dose

I have been on cit for 4 weeks. My doctor decided this morning that she should increase my dose from 20mg to 30mg. I'm not sure why she decided to do this because I've actually been feeling close to myself for the last 2 days and I informed her of that. Since I've been home from the appointment my anxiety is creeping back in. I think it may be due to worry of increasing the dose. Should I expect to have increased side effects and/or anxiety after taking the new dose?

Anxiety Increased :: Reaction Between Citalopram And Propranolol

I took the plunge and took the tablets 40mls a day twice a day for around 3 weeks, then due to side effects, reduced to 10 mls twice a day.

My constant panic attacks are not there anymore, just now and again.  I found that the tablets must of interacted with the citalopram 10mls as I felt really alert of them and couldn't sleep, general anxiety symptoms were increased.  Since reducing I am able sleep, my pulse rate is still up, but not as bad as before.

Temporomandibular Joint :: Bottom Front Teeth Hitting Back Of Top Front Teeth?

I am hoping to get as much information about an issue I start experiencing this week. I woke up Monday and noticed my bottom front teeth are now hitting the back side of my top front teeth, when I close my mouth fully (teeth clenched or chewing). Prior to this I could clench my teeth without issue and this unusual touching did not occur. That said, this is freaking me out.

I have an appointment with a Dentist next week but want to educate myself as much as humanly possible. I have spent considerable time researching this but am getting tired of the same links appearing in my searches. While not getting all the answer I seek.

I have read here that this is the first sign of TMJ. I have gone through listing of the symptoms and I quite literally have next to none. I have no headaches, no migraines, no tight or painful jaw, no loss in range of motion, no jaw popping when eating or opening and closing mouth (I can make it pop if I move my jaw from side to side. I have been able to do this since I was a kid though). I also don't grind my teeth, though I have always had a habit of clenching a few times throughout the day.

I have had tinnitus for a couple years now due to loud music, so I guess this is the only listed symptom I have. But like I said, the tinnitus has been caused by hearing damage and been around for some time.

Has anyone here experienced what I am currently?

If so, what was the treatment?

How did you fix this?

Is this TMJ?

Are there any self administered treatments I could start trying?

Citalopram :: Decline Of Effects After 4 Weeks - Anxiety, OCD And Panic Attacks

I've been on 20mg of cit for just over 4 weeks now almost 5, and at first it was great. My mood picked up, anxiety went way down, and my OCD drastically went down. But now, I've been on a steady decline for almost 2 weeks and i feel like I'm at square one again. High anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, and no appetite and depression all over again. Obviously I need to something differently but I'm wondering if I just need an increase or just try a whole new med?

Trigeminal Neuralgia :: Undiganosed Toothache

I'm almost 25 and have constant problems with my teeth I brush , floss and use mouthwash at least twice a day sometimes more , I have phobias of the dentist and eating hard foods I also will not have a photo taken for the embarrassment of my teeth, even seeing the dentist embarrasses me. Anyway to cut a long story short I had a failed crown due to gum damage and needed an extraction at the front and a bridge fitted. Although I'm still feeling pain in this area. I have been back and forth the dentist with excruciating pain in my jaw ears and what I was convinced of back lower molar, the dentist is at his wits ends as although I've had a lot of work done and do have problematic teeth he cannot find any infection or decay abscess etc that could be causing me excruciating pain , it is possible that I may need a top tooth extracted as it has a very large filling and is tender to touch. I've had a few root canals over the past year but nothing is working .So my dentist possibly thinks I have neuralgia and prescribed carbamazepine 200 mg twice a day for 3 days and not taking pain killers . The pain has definitely died down but the ache is still there so I think it is not neuralgia and there is a problem he is missing in so petrified of losing my teeth being so young !
