Back Issues :: Neurofororaminal Narrowing

May 27, 2015

This Neuroforaminal Narrowing is pressing and radiating so bad along my spinal nerves that I don't know what to do anymore. My VA doctor doesn't think that I qualify for an MRI.

Back Pain :: Diffuse Disc Bulges Narrowing The Central Canal

I had am mri w/o contrast and the findings were:

C2-3, the central canal and neuralformina are patent.

C3-4, a diffuse disc bulge effaces the thecal sac. There is minimal narrowing of the neural formina.

C4-5, a diffuse disc bulge effaces the thecal sac. There is mild narrowing of the neural formina.

C5-6, there is a disc/osteophytic ridge with moderate narrowing of the central canal and neural formina.

C6-7, there is a diffuse disc bulge asymmetric to the left. There is mild narrowing of the central canal. The right neural foramen is patent. There is moderate narrowing of the left neural foramen.

C7-T1, the central canal is patent. There is mild narrowing of the right neutral foramen and moderate narrowing of the left foramen.

Conclusion:

diffuse disc bulges narrowing the central canal and neural formina as described, most pronounced from C5-6 through C7-T1.

Spinal Cord :: L2 Narrowing

I have had chronic back pain for about 9yrs & I finally got an xray to show an old injury. It's not something I can grow back or cure. Of all your opinions what's the best treatment for chronic back pain I've had for 9yrs & only til the 21st this month with an x ray after ER visits & pain management specialists sticking needles in my spine without any diagnosis or x rays at all over this whole time would any of you suggest I perhaps engage? I've suffered the entire time & I feel the negligence of the doctors is something to take into account. I can't grow back my narrowed spine of my L1 from an old injury & there is no cure , I just feel helpless being mother of twin boy toddlers who want to do it all & I can not due to pain. I'm stuck. Any advice? I cry because my sons are the ones to suffer in my prison with me . I can't grow my spine back & I have no babysitter for physical therapy which is I'm sure excruciating, any suggestions considering no doctor wants to help me even though I now have the prove after 9yrs it wasn't all just in my head & them sticking needles in my spine with no diagnosis & no answer for me & no x rays after all this time suffering?

Spinal Cord :: Neural Foraminal Narrowing

Neck pain for years, suddenly got very bad 6 months ago. I am an active 61 year old woman, have worked as a checker almost 20 years in very busy supermarket. Lots of repetitive lifting and scanning, the constant lifting hurts, I can feel the stress on my neck and am wondering if continuing this is just aggravating the problem or possibly making it worse. Along with the significant cervical pain I am also experiencing paresthesia in both hands with burning also in right hand. This has been for at least 5 years. No arm pain so don't know if this could be radicular. Left toes also have pins and needles.

My MRI follows:-

minimal grade 1 spondylolisthesis of C2on C3 and C7 on T1
moderate to severe disk space narrowing from C3-C7, mild at C7-T1 and C2-C3
multilevel DDD and spondylosis. Mild to mod. facet arthropathy also noted.
At C6-7 spondylosis and disk bulging causing cord indentation and bilateral neural foraminal narrowing rt. greater than lft.
Visualized sp. cord normal in caliber and signal

Impression:-
straightening of normal cervical lordosis. DDD causing cord indentation at C34. C45, C56 and C67. Neural foraminal narrowing which is most sig. at C45, C56 and C67. Facet osteoarthritis on the left at C23 with surrounding reactive bone marrow edema.

I am wondering what is difference between cord indentation and cord compression. I see compression often on boards so maybe indentation is not so bad. Is this a normal MRI for a 61 year old? What about the paresthesia and burning hands? I would love to hear from Web Dozer and anyone else who could shed light on this.

Foreaminal Narrowing Means Spinal Stenosis?

What does "mild foraminal narrowing" mean on an MRI result? VA clinic denies that my husband's MRI results show any abnormalities, yet MRI results list cervical foraminal narrowing and thoracic osteophytes Doesn't foraminal narrowing MEAN spinal stenosis of some degree? Why does the clinic insist they see nothing wrong on the MRI? Thank you for your help, this back pain battle is 4 years in the running now

Respiratory Disorders :: Bilateral Atelectasis, Narrowing Aorta

I have been having abdominal and pelvic pain for months since my daughter was born in May. I went to the er at 2 different hospitals and both did a CT scan and 1 found bilateral lower lobe atelectasis and the other a narrowing of my aorta valve of the celiac. I asked my family physician about the atelectasis but he said it was air pockets but nothing to worry about. I had a collapsed lung 3 years ago so are these things I should be concerned about because he is not.

Lichen Sclerosus :: Silent, Creeping Narrowing Of Vagina

Wondering whether it would be proactive to regularly dilate this opening (even with warm oily fingers). I've been abstaining from sex for a year – too painful. Silly me, I've been using a magnifying shaving mirror to inspect my undercarriage nightly and last night it occurred to me to look with a regular mirror. Whoa! I'm a lot narrower than I thought! About two fingers. What I've been noticing in my inspections has been the narrowing and elongation of my perineum. I took that to be a tightening of the flesh from repeated tearing. But now I see it's that the 'shore' of the perineum is sneaking up on the vagina. Like a beach getting wider as the lake's water level drops.

My goal (a modest one) is to always be able to pee. So I think I might make a practice of massaging – slightly stretching that circle every night when applying my oily stuff. Not at the same time as applying Dermovate/clobetasol.

Cardiovascular :: LAD Artery Is Narrowing Again 10 Months Post Heart Attack

In May 2015 I suffered a small heart attack according to my consultant, it was a bank holiday, i was told that there was no consultant until the following week

Over the weekend I was monitored and on the Tuesday went down to laboratory to investigate the causes. They found that the LAD was 90 % blocked and the RCA and LMS were moderate , 3 stents were fitted and I was given medication to control the Colestral , the cardiologist told me I have a good heart and to push every thing to the back of my mind and don't let it control me

I found as time went by month on month that I was still

Getting niggles and angina pain , the angina pain I found difficult and still do find in hard to differentiate , I may now understand as I was taking far to much GTN X 6 instead of one per year. I find I can walk for

Miles and go to the gym with no issues , but what s confusing me when i have been decorating over 3 months period bending low and reaching high to paint gives me angina pain and it's harder to breath , then my heart rate drops from average of 62 to 43 .

9 months on and I've been back in twice with false alarms getting pain

Last month 26/2 was getting checked out for AF as I had a erratic heartbeat, they were concerned and explained the how the Atrial chamber when pulsing transfer the blood to ventricles and if my heart is missing beats the worry is its retaining blood and this may clot and lead to strokes . However after the investigation they did no do

Anything but gave me two options I was quite shocked 1 CABG or try another stent

I've been out of work now for a 3 months as work on contracts so really need to be back in work, however I gave my wishes to try another stent as the LAD is starting to Narrow before the point of insertion , previously I was informed arteries take a life time to get blocked how can this happen in 9 months with careful food planning and medication being taken, since the blast hospital

Visit I have changed medication on atorvastatin to simvastatin. There was no mention when I came out of theatre about my erratic heartbeat but found it was slightly worse than before the procedure ....

Narrowing Of The Bile Ducts In My Liver After Gall Bladder Removal

I had my gallbladder out Nov 2014, operation didn't go smoothly as gallbladder was full to bursting with stones - despite being told in radiography there were only 3 stones. Wounds had to be extended to get it all out, and took a few hours.

Like most of you on here suffered a number of attacks of excruciating pain in my chest and back. To the point I've passed out (I have a high pain threshold due to long term kidney stone sufferer). On three occasions an ambulance was called.

Each A&E trip resulted in blood tests, chest X-ray - all saying nothing wrong.

Husband came with me to last hospital appointment after getting a referral - and doctor initially said 'think you are just going to have to live with the pain, it could be kidney stones you know'! Husband pushed back and said that just wasn't acceptable- as kidney stones had been blamed for what turned out to be gallstones for years.

Had ultrasound which showed debris filled fluid sack at site of gallbladder removal. Told they 'thought it would be fine'. Hubby requested to see someone else. Finally had an MRI scan which has shown severe narrowing of the bile ducts in my liver. All I've been told is its complex and therefore referring me to a specialist in Liverpool. The doctors screen showed my GGT levels at 67 (back in February), even though I was told everything was normal.

Bulging Disc And Spinal Canal Narrowing - Operation To Release The Bulge?

I am a 27 year old female who has has back problems since the age of 21 when I got pregnant with my little girl. I have gradually got worse over the past 6 years and am now permanently on crutches to help me walk. I cannot do daily tasks and am in pain 24/7 and have been for some time.

I have asked for 5 years for a MRI on my back as I knew something wasn't right but I have just been told it would be a waste of my time and the medical professionals time.

Anyway after a breakdown at the rheumatologist and my last resort after years of medication, pain management courses, physio and wasted doctors appointments I had to beg for an MRI and he reluctantly agreed.

The MRI has shown a significant bulging disc in my 4th vertebrae which has narrowed my spinal canal and is causing nerve compression leading to problems with loss of feeling in my legs and lady parts as well as pain.

I suppose the biggest question I have is after such a long time before being discovered, what are the chances of my nerves being permanently damaged even if I have the operation to release the bulge?

Is the operation actually going to make a difference?

Lichen Sclerosus :: Clitoral Fusion Narrowing Of The Vaginal Opening - Remedies?

I have been diagnosed with lichen sclerosus in addition to vulvodynia. My main symptoms are clitoral fusion and narrowing of the vaginal opening. For some reason I haven't been able to find a steroid cream that I could use that doesn't cause me a horrible vulvodynia flare (feels like my entire pelvis goes into spasm) and was wondering if anyone had alternatives they use that have helped with this symptom.

Back Pain :: Left Side Back Pain, Middle To Lower Back

About 2 week's ago I took 2 perc within a night and the next day I got sick, I thought from the pills, but than I was nauseous and have been for the most part ever since. My left side mid to lower back started hurting approx a week ago and it's gotten much worse last night and now I'm having pain in my upper right abdomen as if the pain moved. I'm on muscle relaxers for my back already but it's not affecting/helping my new pain though and the new pain doesn't feel the same. I was just curious if anyone had any idea what it might be, some say kidneys but does that pain or can it move from my back to my abdomen?

Back Pain After Clicking/popping Sound In The Lower Middle Back

Two days ago I was in the gym exercising my shoulders and whilst I was lifting weights, I moved my back whilst seated and I heard a 'click' sound in my back, followed by pain in that area of my lower middle back. I immediately stopped exercising and haven't gone to the gym since.

I don't know what I was thinking by moving my back like that, but since it happened there is a lot less pain and it feels like the pain may be totally gone in the next 48-72 hours hopefully.

On the night of the injury I found it hard to turn onto my side when in bed, but now I can do it without any problems. Now I can only feel some pain when I turn my upper body to the left or right or if I try to stretch my lower back.

Would anyone be able to give me some advice such as what type of injury I have or whether this may have a long term effect? Is it a very positive sign that the pain is decreasing each day?

Back Issues :: Pinched Nerve Or A Lower Back Strain?

I was doing a yoga pose (a torso twist hold which is where you lay on your back bring both legs up in the air then bring them down with your knees/legs tucked and torso twisted on opposite side) when I accidently dropped mid twist too quickly and hurt my lower back, the pain on a scale of 1-10 is about a 2-3, so a dull aching. Its localized and does not radiate down my thighs/legs or up to my neck. There's no shooting/stabbing pains and It also doesn't burn, or tingle (numbness). Could this be just a stretched/sprained back issue or a pinched nerve?. It also isn't tender to the touch at all.

Back Issues :: Chest, Arm And Upper Back Pain

I am 29 and Female. I have been under a great deal of stress lately. I have been having some minor health problems that cause my mind to go to that dark place. I am having very irregular periods and GERD/Gallbladder issues. Also, I am planning a wedding and my mother was just diagnosed with Lung cancer about 2 weeks ago.

My upper back across the "meaty" part of my shoulders has been so tight and painful. If my fiance rubs them, he finds all kinds of trigger points that are so painful to the touch I can't breathe. In the middle of my upper back I feel a sharp pain sometimes. My neck muscles are tight as well as the tops of my arms down to my elbows. On occasion my fingers tingle.

As of the past 2 days I feel a pressure on my chest right below my collar bone. If I yawn I can feel my throat muscles get sore. The very top of my sternum is tender to the touch. It almost feels bruised.

I did a little bit of research and it seems that all of these problems are connected. The scalene muscle group can cause all of these problems. I am going to see a massage therapist on thursday. Hopefully I get some relief.

Another bit of info, I have a desk job. I am at a computer for 10 hours a day. I work 60 + hours a week. I had a chest CT scan with contrast in July and it came back clear. ( unrelated incident ) So I believe I can rule out anything major. The scan is only 3 months old.

My question is; has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to ease your symptoms? I have tried muscle rub so far. Doesn't help much...I am going to ice the areas today and see if that helps.
