Dental Health :: Gum Is White - Temporary Crown And Build Up Work

Feb 7, 2016

I had an old filling that the tooth brook wednesday. No pain. so friday went to dentist. He said it hadn't reached the nerve so he could build it up and put a crown on it. Went yesterday to have the build up work and the temporary crown. as soon as the anesthetic wore off i started hurting. i have been taking 400 mg of ibuprofen all day. I just took a picture of the inside of my tooth where it hurts the most and the gum is white around the tooth. is the throbbing pain and the white gums normal? will this go away?

Trigeminal Neuralgia On Both Sides After Dental Work

I have TN on both sides which was cause by hospital dental work (i still need some teeth pulling) someone has just upset me so much.

They said that because i have it both sides that an MVD operation would not work as there is a compression of the nerve and this is much less likely to be the cause of bilateral TN.
I
'm so upset i just don't know what to do apart from ending my life, that's the only way out from this.

Trigeminal Neuralgia - Quite Possibly The Result Of Dental Work

After many dental visits and x rays, I was referred to a Head,Neck and Ear clinic where the doctor believes I have Trigeminal Neuralgia-quite possibly the result of dental work. He has referred me to a neurologist and am awaiting that appointment. I was issued an rx for pain management but have decided to wait and see the neurologist for further info and treatment, as I react to so many drugs.

Anyone else suffering from this? And if so, can you please relate your experiences? Am in somewhat of a fog right now, trying to wrap my head around how this can come from dental procedures.

Temporomandibular Joint :: Dental Work - Improper Bite

I have suffered from TMJ in the past but it always cleared up when the bite was adjusted properly. My latest dentist changed my bite with a filling on one side and then ground down the opposite side so it would match. The side he ground down was the "good side" as the other had been ruined and ground down previously because of a root canal. The result are teeth that are much to short and a bite that is all over the place. The facial pain is intense even after I went to another dentist who further adjusted me. It seems as though no one really knows what they are doing...everyone tells me I'm "ok" now and shuffles me off. I honestly feel like a don't have teeth on one side and all the natural ridges have been shaved off ALL the bottom teeth at this point. Frustration does not even cover what I am feeling. Does anyone know how on earth to fix this mess or what type of dentist can best alter the bite for the better. A month ago I was perfect..pain free for over a year and now I feel like a zombie who cannot talk or eat or do anything without extreme facial pain. I'm hoping someone clever can build it up properly or maybe do crowns or onlays ( all very tricky when you have tmj). One dentist offered me the little mouth guard ( the one who messed me up) I felt like yelling fix what you messed up and stop trying to sell me things I didn't need before you touched me. Just wondering if anyone ever suffered from the "too short ground down teeth" dilemma and if anyone was able to fix it. I've been living on pills that have done little to help for over a month.

Tooth Abscess - Terrible Toothache Under A Crown

I've got terrible toothache under a crown on an upper back molar ... wonderful kind dentist has drilled through crown and "cleaned it out" and put me on 1,500 mg amoxicillin per day for 7 days - going back next week, hopefully for root canal. My problem is, I expected to feel BETTER after yesterday;s "clean out" of roots and starting antibiotics but awake half the night last night in terrible pain and felt far too ill to go to work.  Pain is making me cry!  Taking Nurofen "migraine strength" ibuprofen & lysine and oddly, swilling with boiling hot salt water provides relief even though I can feel throbbing.  Has anyone been here?  Can anyone tell me what to expect?  I don't want to bother dentist if I dont have to as he's already been absolutely fantastic and I feel such a wimp ... but must try to get back to work.

Dental Health :: Lump On Gum

For several years I have had a lump on the lower gum that appears, then if I poke with a needle it releases blood and disappears. It is right next to some teeth that catch food, I have to floss after every meal. It also seems as if the gum and cheek are joined there, rather than separate as on other side of mouth. Dentist said I should have hospital appointment but I don't think it is anything serious as has not changed over the years. It is annoying having to floss all the time but have to put up with it.

Dental Health :: Filling And Cap?

Just came from an initial consultation. The dentist said I would need to have my cavity filled (left upper side, 4th tooth from the 2 front teeth), then come back in 3-4 months to get a "cap" in it? Can someone explain this to me? He said the cavity is touching the nerve, as well. Is this a root canal?

Dental Health :: Gum Inflammation Around Tooth

I am 33-year old healthy woman with an extreme fear of the dentist. A few months ago, I had a horrible toothache that resulted in a root canal and crown. I have a temporary crown right now and go in for my permanent crown tomorrow. About a week ago, I started having some pain on the side that I have had a root canal on and have a temporary crown. My dentist was on vacation, but I was able to get in with another area dentist. He said he saw nothing wrong other than possibly cement or something stuck between my crown and gums. He removed whatever it was he saw. That was over a week ago. Yesterday, my gums on the inside of my teeth (not the cheek side) felt like I had burned the roof of my mouth. I tried to look with a mirror and the gums around the tooth in front of the crown look red. They are a tiny bit sore and seemed to get irritated if I eat anything salty of drink anything carbonated. I flossed and rinsed with mouthwash. I had my husband look and he said the gums are not swollen and there is no pimple like sore. He said the gums are just red. I am in complete freak-out mode. If I had an abscess, wouldn't things be getting worse instead of better?

Dental Health :: Possible To Straighten Just One Tooth

My teeth aren't perfect... They're far from perfect. Grew up poor and family couldn't afford braces... Now that I'm older I still can't afford them..

Anyway my biggest insecurity is one of my front teeth.. I have a gap in my front teeth... The gap never bothered me.. But one of my front teeth has always bugged me.. this tooth tilts to the left about 15 degrees. It's flaws are noticeable... My smile would be 300x better if that tooth was just straight.
Is it possible to straighten the one tooth?

About how much will it cost?

Dental Health :: Bleeding After Filling

Has anyone ever had difficulty with gum healing following dental anesthesia with the 'wand'? Since it's so localized, the shots are many and they take a while. Twice out of several fillings over the past years this has happened to me, and last night the gum bled so much that I wondered how I will ever get it to heal. It was 8 days later and still very sore between the teeth, it looks better but still feels very raw.

Also my dentist acts as if he's never heard of anyone having this happen. I'm wondering if there's anything I can get from the drug store to soothe it and allow it to heal more quickly. That 'wand' is amazing for what it does but I'm not sure these after-effects are worth avoiding a few hours of a numb face!

I'm going to give it another week to hopefully heal before I call him back. I doubt there's much he can do anyway - it doesn't seem infected, just very beaten up.
