Eye Floaters - 20 Years Old - Using Computer A Lot?

Apr 7, 2012

I'm 20 and have to use computer a lot and because of that I have developed few eye floaters. I can see them more during sunlight and when I looked at light colored places it seems to grow in numbers. They move as I move my eye and become stable when I concentrate on a single area. I have heard that eye floaters are not so common in youngsters but unfortunately I can see few of them.

Is there any way to get rid of them? I would prefer natural treatments over any other kind of treatments. Is there any eye drop or something which I should put in my eyes Or something which I should avoid to drink such as alcohol or anything as such.

two days ago I was looking at computer all day and playing games and in the evening my eyes were very tired and burning inside when I closed them, it was hard to sleep... the next morning I woke up and still my eyes were like burning inside... so the entire day I was feeling like eyes are burning so I bought some eye drops but they don't seem to be helping.. now I woke up and the burning feeling is still there (a bit less than before tho) and the entire area around my eyes is sore ....

what can I do ? I give my eyes a lot of rest now and stay away from computer but my eyes still don't calm down...

Narcolepsy Due To Computer Addiction?

My mother is a 54 year old woman whose life is controlled by the use of her computer. It's affecting her performance at work (I've seen it) as well as her relationship with her family. She neglects her family and many household chores are left undone or half done. Her personal hygiene has also become vile. Recently, while sitting at her computer I've noticed her falling asleep, only for a few seconds, then waking up again. This happens frequently. So, to be specific, can a cyber-relationship addiction cause narcolepsy?

Pain In Back Due To Computer Use

I have had a referred pain in the back for many years now which is worsened by sitting on the computer.

The pain is in the left neck but when I massage the area just below the left scapula it disappears. I also find that lifting weights help. I'm guessing my muscles are in poor shape, I'm pretty lean.

Here is a diagram of the area. [URL...]

I have been to doctors, physiotherapists, chiro and masseuses. All just disregard the area and also about the weight training suggesting it has nothing to do with it. They start cracking bones and massaging other areas and I feel no better.

There must be a link! Anyone care to shed some light on this?

Lasik Surgery :: Strain In Eye After Computer Use

Has anyone else experienced this after LASIK? I am 42 years old and had myopia. After LASIK it seems that my non-dominant eye is slightly overcorrected at +0.25 and my dominant eye is slightly undercorrected at -0.25. This seems to be opposite what would happen if you choose monovision. Thought the amounts would be different. But now I notice if I am on the computer for a bit and then look up in the distance, my dominant eye is very blurry. The non-dominant eye is fine. The blurriness usually goes away after 5-10 minutes. But my dominant eye then feels strained even after this. At the eye doctor they had me read the really small print for presbyopia and I could read it. The doctor thinks I may need computer glasses, but I am 6 weeks post surgery. He wants to hold off a bit more in case my prescription changes a little bit more.

Also my dominant eye has been extremely dry since the day of the surgery. It also watered and felt a stinging sensation the day of the surgery. It also had the red blood vessels. To this day I think I can still see where the suction ring went on in the whites of my eyes. My non-dominant eye has not given me a single problem. If both eyes were like this I would be pleased, but it has been hell with the other eye.

Pain At The Back Of Eyes - Computer Use?

For over 18 months now I've suffered from a pain at the back of my eyes when using computer monitors, TV screens or other kinds of backlit LED screens (eg ATMs). It started suddenly when new, larger monitors were introduced at my workplace. It's not eye strain, because it happens immediately - more as if light or radiation is reaching the back of my eye that shouldn't. I've had my eyes checked numerous times and nothing shows up as being wrong, although I suddenly developed a cluster of 'floaters' in my right eye at the same time, when I had none before. I use blue filter glasses and they help a little (but not enough), and I've tried anti-glare and radiation-filtering screens, sunglasses, orange-tinted specs, etc, and just about every kind of eye drop known to man. It's been suggested that high-speed flicker may be involved but I can't understand how it could cause pain in a matter of seconds. I've been trying to work out what's wrong for ages, because it's affecting my work and home life. Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. I'm wondering if my eyes have been damaged in a way that can't easily be detected?

Migraine :: Headaches Using Computer, Phones And Reading

I had a minor car accident 18 months ago and my neurologist diagnosed. Me with post concussion. Syndrome which is basically migraine symptoms.

However since October 2013 I have not only suffered severe headaches I have had increased headaches using computers, phones, reading and can not even go near a tv screen without setting off a major migraine attack.

I am currently taking lamotrigine and zonisamide for my migraines.

Does anyone else suffer with similar symptoms and if so is there any help out there as this is life debilitating. I cannot work and it has changed my family life considerably. I have not worked since October last year.

Eye Care :: Unable To Read Computer Or TV Text

For approx 2 years now I've been having issues with my eyes.

It started out just getting light spots, just like when you look at the sun and then get the dark spots in vision afterwards.. It then progressed to when I was looking at the tv menu of our tv that the text appeared to blend together and my eyes had trouble focusing on one word. This has continued and now happens on and off with my tv menu, writing on the tv such as in commercials etc and also text on my computer. Its almost like my eye jumps off the word i'm trying to read. I've had my eyes checked numerous times with only slight changes in my prescription. I wear glasses most days and contacts on special occasions. I've just gotten a brand new pair of glasses with updated script lenses and no change.

It's really worrying me and I'm not even sure how to properly describe it and searching the net hasn't really given me anything that sounds like what I'm experiencing.

Text in magazines and books seems ok, but then sometimes the text on tv and computer is ok but then other times it's really hard to read and I really have to try to focus on each word. It's almost as if it's easier to read the sentence if i don't focus directly on the words, but just above or to the side of the word. If i stare at the word, my eyes feel like they are trying to jump off the word..

I suffer from health anxiety and a little OCD and I know that my doctor etc is probably going to think it's my anxiety playing tricks but I'm wanting to get to the bottom of this so i can sort it out.

Cervical Spondylosis :: Computer Use Make It Worse

I have been off work since the end of May and Cervical Spondylosis was diagnosed by the Occupational Health doctor via the Local Authority for whom I work. This discomfort and pain started and deteriorated whilst working on the computer at work. The OH doctor says it is age related and will not attribute this problem to the fact that I spend most of my working life in front of a computer. I have had physio and acupuncture and they say it is to do with posture. This treatment has not resolved the problem and I have now been referred to the Orthopedic Service. I am fighting this with the help of Unison. Has anyone out there had a similar experience.

I've been referred to CFS after 6 months of various symptoms. I wondered if anyone has problems when looking at a computer screen. I've been back at work full time for a couple of months but I still get headaches and dizziness after I look at a computer screen for a few hours. Unfortunately, my work means im looking at a computer a lot. I've had my eyes checked out - i use VDU glasses but the dizziness and headaches continue. Its not a symptom i've seen mentioned before.

RSI - Repetitive Strain Injury - Any Information For Computer Users?

I work for a Software company since last 15 years. I suffer from Computer RSI which makes it very painful to use mouse/keyboard, hold a pen and such things. Nothing has been revealed in my MRI or nerve conduction studies which is making it very challenging to convince people at work, who are not very aware of RSI.

Can you point out to any resources at Internet to show that RSI can be a severe problem even when nothing shows up in your investigations?

Has Computer RSI been formally accepted by medical science as a diseases?

Palsy - Non Cerebral :: 2 Days Ago I Woke Up And Hopped Onto My Computer

2 days ago I woke up and hopped onto my computer like I do every morning (I'm 16/male and on summer vacation). I noticed that it felt awkward when I tried to blink my left eye. I didn't think anything of it and just continued on with my day.

The next day I woke up to the sound of my phone. I picked it up and it was one of my friends. He told me something that had happened the day before and made me laugh. I noticed that when I laughed only the right side of my face would move. I thought this was very strange and I got a bit scared.

I got off the phone and went to the bathroom and this is where I really freaked out. I couldn't move the left side of my face properly. Everything on the left side seemed a lot weaker than my right.

I tried looking it up for a few hours to see if anyone else has ever had this. I couldn't find anything except for a few forums with people saying it happened to them, but I still couldn't find out if it had a name. I was really scared and was having suicidal thoughts if this turned out to be permanent.

Anyways, I'm very very happy I found this site and that it heals itself. I told my mom and she's going to take me to the doctor so maybe he can give me steroids or something.

Summer vacation ends in about 3 1/2 weeks. I hope I recover by then because I'm not going to school like this, I don't care what my parents say.

I'll keep everyone updated. This is my second day so far with this dumb BP crap.

Palsy - Non Cerebral :: Left Eye Would Not Close While Working On Computer

Yesterday, while working on my computer, I noticed my left eye would not close. Within an hour my lip was drooping and eating was difficult. This morning, my Dr. diagnosed Bell's Palsy and has prescribed a course of steroids. My eye is taped shut to prevent dryness and I feel like I am falling apart,--a a thought that occurs frequently as the my 65th birthday approaches. I have chronic kidney disease and want to know if there is any alternative remedy for this hell known as Bell's Palsy.

Vision Disorders :: Sensitivity To Screens - Computer, Phone And TV

I'm 19 years old, I've had glasses for a long time (got me newest prescription 5 months ago), and I'm always on my computer. I spend many hours a day on it because I have college online and all of my hobbies include using a PC. But for the past few days, my eyes have started hurting within a few minutes of looking at any bright screens. Even scrolling up and down through web search results makes me a little queasy. Nothing has changed about my lifestyle or health except that I have a rough sinus infection that started around the time the eye problems did.

Again let me reiterate: this has never ever happened before. I'm not on the computer anymore now than I have been in the past, this is just a sudden thing.

I seem to be alright when I'm not looking at a screen, but I haven't driven anywhere so I'm afraid the motion my make it difficult. I scheduled an eye exam already, but it'll be two weeks before I can go in so is there anything that might ease my mind, or at least make sense of my situation?

Eye :: Floaters After Capsulotomy

I call them "my mosquitoes". At first I thought they were and was swatting at non-existent bugs. I didn't notice them before the capsulotomy. When I asked the ophthalmologist that did the procedure if they would ever go away or would I always have them, he just shrugged.

Eye :: Floaters That Turned Into PVD

I would like to know if anyone else (and I know there are many) who have floaters that turned into PVD. Mine started on Oct.2011 with small black dots in left eye. From there it got worse and having to see a Ophthalmologist for the first time and her sending me off to see a Glaucoma specialist with out giving me any information scared. The glaucoma specialist said everything looks fine come back in 2-3 yrs. Well I was hoping all would get better with the floater situation, but it gradually got worse. When I look back I realize the floaters weren't so bad, but it was not being educated in what they were didn't help and only led me to becoming very anxious and eventually depressed. It has been 3 years now, the floaters got worse and affected my right eye too. My left eye had crystal worm like floater that would get right in the center of my eye. All in all I went through a year of this. Went to a neuro-opthamologist and a retinal specialist. I finally had a vitrectomy in my left eye and 3 months later had to have cataract surgery. (Prior to this, I would see afterimages, which caused more anxiety. Became light sensitive.) The cataract surgery had some after-affects. I became more far-sighted which has caused a diopter difference between the two eyes and the cataract eye also has dysphotopsia, where I see the edge of the IOL. Again on top of all this I am very sensitive to light, see spots if something is glaring off an object.
