Fibromyalgia Syndrome :: Vaginal, Hip And Lower Back Pain

I just wondered if any other female sufferers of Fibro had pain in their vaginal areas?  I am newly diagnosed and just coming to terms with the symptoms and pain that this illness brought along with it but this new pain has begun recently and seems to accompany my hip and lower back pain ..

Osteoarthritis :: Hip And Spine Wear And Tear

I have Osteoarthritis I think, although the doctor didn't really do any tests to confirm it.  Perhaps there's nothing they can do, I don't know.  Anyway, it started out when I had a frozen shoulder when I was sixty from fracturing a small bone without realizing it.  Because of the strain on the other shoulder that subsequently froze up as well.  I had to sleep on my back for nearly a year, but after two lots of cortisone injections into the joints and lots of active dancing in my bedroom whilst in agony, they finally freed themselves and got back to normal.  After that episode I found that my lower back was painful when I got out of bed in the mornings, and my right knee would collapse with pain up and down the stairs. My right hip now gives me a lot of pain too, and sometimes all of these joints play up together, leaving me in lots of pain. I do find that paracetamol helps, and I do use voltarol etc. I have tried using flexiseq also, which is a topical treatment that is supposed to lubricate the joint, but it is very expensive at £18 a tube and I'm not really sure whether it works or not. It seems to work sometimes, but not others.

Also, I find that I can wake up occasionally with more or less no pain at all for no reason that I can make out.  I wish I knew what it was! Perhaps something I ate, or just didn't do the previous day??  who knows??

Lower Back Pain / Numb Lower Legs

I have had lower back pain for months now which goes hand in hand with numb lower legs, pain and discomfort really bad in the morning when waking, so much so I get up and have to stretch on my exercise mat to get relief. The veins in the lower legs in the morning really stand out. I saw the doctor who said it was lower back pain causing the numbness in the legs but the circulation seemed ok. I wanted a scan to see what the problem is as the pain can be bad, but he said they don't do back scans no point? The pain is often bad and I sit with a hot water bottle. I am 60 years old.

Back Pain After Clicking/popping Sound In The Lower Middle Back

Two days ago I was in the gym exercising my shoulders and whilst I was lifting weights, I moved my back whilst seated and I heard a 'click' sound in my back, followed by pain in that area of my lower middle back. I immediately stopped exercising and haven't gone to the gym since.

I don't know what I was thinking by moving my back like that, but since it happened there is a lot less pain and it feels like the pain may be totally gone in the next 48-72 hours hopefully.

On the night of the injury I found it hard to turn onto my side when in bed, but now I can do it without any problems. Now I can only feel some pain when I turn my upper body to the left or right or if I try to stretch my lower back.

Would anyone be able to give me some advice such as what type of injury I have or whether this may have a long term effect? Is it a very positive sign that the pain is decreasing each day?

Back Issues :: Pinched Nerve Or A Lower Back Strain?

I was doing a yoga pose (a torso twist hold which is where you lay on your back bring both legs up in the air then bring them down with your knees/legs tucked and torso twisted on opposite side) when I accidently dropped mid twist too quickly and hurt my lower back, the pain on a scale of 1-10 is about a 2-3, so a dull aching. Its localized and does not radiate down my thighs/legs or up to my neck. There's no shooting/stabbing pains and It also doesn't burn, or tingle (numbness). Could this be just a stretched/sprained back issue or a pinched nerve?. It also isn't tender to the touch at all.

Fibromyalgia :: Swollen Ring Finger At The Joint

I know there are numerous symptoms to Fibromyalgia which could be associated with other autoimmune disorders which leads to my problem. I went to the doctor last monday with a swollen ring finger at the joint. I also told him that I was exhausted a lot and getting dizzy spells daily. He tested me for lupus and RA, both coming back normal. He also had a x-ray taken of my finger which showed no fracture or injury. My finger is still swollen after 5 days of naproxen twice a day, still exhausted and still having dizzy spells daily. On top of that, my legs are now aching especially when I climb the stairs which never used to happen. The pain is bad enough that I have to stop for a bit until the pain subsides a little. I'm also starting to have hip pains as well as stiffness in many areas of my body. So, with that said, I was wondering if swelling is a common symptom of fibromyalgia and if so, any suggestions other than ice, heat and naproxen and ibuprofen??? I can't get my wedding ring off and I really don't want to cut it off (the ring, not my finger, hahaha).

Back Pain :: Left Side Back Pain, Middle To Lower Back

About 2 week's ago I took 2 perc within a night and the next day I got sick, I thought from the pills, but than I was nauseous and have been for the most part ever since. My left side mid to lower back started hurting approx a week ago and it's gotten much worse last night and now I'm having pain in my upper right abdomen as if the pain moved. I'm on muscle relaxers for my back already but it's not affecting/helping my new pain though and the new pain doesn't feel the same. I was just curious if anyone had any idea what it might be, some say kidneys but does that pain or can it move from my back to my abdomen?

Back Pain / Sciatica :: Brace To Correct The Curvature Causing Lower Back Pain

I'm 18 and i was diagnosed with scoliosis at a young age. I wore a brace to correct the curvature for about 2-3 years. The brace would put pressure on my hips and after some time I would have pain in my lower back, down my buttocks, down the back of

the leg and into the toes. It's sharp and searing and sometimes there's tingling and numbness. Could this be sciatica caused by the brace? Is it possible that it pinched the nerves and caused permanent damage? All I know is that it is extremely painful and hard to get to go away..

Suboxone For Fibromyalgia Syndrome?

So yesterday I went to see the RA and it appeared as if he cared. He explained that I was severe with FIBRO and that there isn't too much that he could do. He upped my LYRICA to 200 mg (not sure why as it gives me more issues than taking pain away) . He also suggested that I go to a Fibro Clinic in UF , some where in the panhandle of Florida, I can not do it (Finances, Insurance, I don't drive because of LYRICA) . He also gave me a referral for SUBOXONE This is a medicine that they usually give for people who have had problems with pain pills. The RA explained how he just read an article in how this could help me. Has any one else experienced this? Did it work?

Fibromyalgia Syndrome :: REM And Non-REM Sleep Patterns

While the quantity of sleep can be important, what's much more important is the quality. Our bodies go through two distinct stages of sleep starting with non-REM (Rapid Eye Movement) and then into REM and cycling between the two throughout the night.

When we first fall asleep we drop into the non-REM cycle and this can be further broken down into three stages which move closer towards a deeper sleep. It's during the last stage where our bodies repair and heal and rebuild themselves. Non-REM sleep typically lasts up to 60-90 minutes with the majority of that time devoted to a deep sleep.

After this our bodies cycle into REM sleep. The main characteristic of this cycle is the eye movements that take place and before there were EEGs and ways of measuring muscle activity it was thought that our brains simply shut-off during sleep, this was far from the truth. During REM sleep our brains are quite active and this is the time when dreams occur, if you wake up and vividly remember a dream you were probably in the middle of REM sleep. It is also thought that REM sleep enhances our memory and contributes to our mental and emotional health. It's possible that during these two cycles of sleep we go through periods of maintaining our bodies and our minds.

Adults typically need between 7.5 to 9 hours of sleep a night and during this time our bodies will move through one cycle to the next and back several times. There are also a lucky few of us who seem to be able to function on less sleep...
