Head Injuries :: 5cm Cyst In Right Posterior Parieto Occipital

Jun 27, 2014

I was driving on the highway last week. I started seeing flashing lights, shapes and lack focus, and disorientation. This has been something that randomly happens and I just sit down until it passes. After doing some research I know these to be either Auras or Simple Partial Seizures. This time on the highway I lost consciousness and woke up in an ambulance confused and soaking in urine. They suspected that I had a seizure while I was driving because of a bite on my tongue and history of seizures when I was a child. The hospital did a CT Scan which revealed something then an MRI the next day. The MRI showed that I have a 5cm cyst . That's bigger than a golf ball. I have my 1st appointment with a neurologist in a few days. Im so afraid...I don't know what to do. I've had to inform my job because I drive and travel everywhere for work. Its so hard to talk about it with people. I cant help but to think that I have had my last birthday.

Head Injuries :: Puking After Hit My Head Against A Concrete Wall

Last week.. I slipped and hit my head against a concrete wall. Just layer there for a few minutes, then when I got up I started puking. I didn't think much of it. Went to school and practice for two days and was getting really light headed and haven't done physical activity since.I have been dizzy and lightheaded and everything is kind of foggy. I don't have any swelling or bruising on my head and don't have any headaches. Not sure if I have a concussion or something worse? Starting to worry if I should go to urgent care now or just schedule an appointment?

Headaches / Migraines :: Possible Occipital Neuralgia? Pain At Base Of Head

I have not officially been diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia, but I am beginning to think that that is what I have been suffering from. I will be going back to a doctor soon (husband is military and we are currently getting ready to move to a new country...so it will be a few months before I settle and can get to specialist). In the meantime, I wanted some advice from others who deal with this. I am curious if this sounds like ON to you (I know you can't diagnose me...just curious if my story is similar to anyone else's) and what you do for the pain.

I am 25 years old right now. The headaches started when I was about 18 or 19 years old. It started on the right side of my head right at the base of my head and neck. I got them almost everyday. It was just a dull ache. Nothing awful, but definitely annoying enough that I would have to take advil (especially when I had class or work or something). As months went by and the pain continued, I started getting nervous that I had a tumor (I am a pretty big hypochondriac). I went to my doctor and he sent me to get a CT scan. Everything came back normal. The headaches continued. Went to a neurologist and got an MRI. Again everything came back normal. The headaches still continued. Went to physical therapy. Still not much improvement (granted, I don't practice the exercises he taught me very often). At this point, to be honest, I gave up hope. I took advil almost every day and learned to deal with the pain. I assumed it was just tension headaches. The pain has now gotten worse. The headaches are still only that one side of my head, but the pain spreads behind my ear and up to my right eye when it is at its worst. It feels like a deep ache and I constantly want to stretch or crack my neck or something (which doesn't work). I have a "knobble" that I use to massage the area. Applying a lot of pressure on it hurts...but in a good way. It sort of relieves the pain for the time being, but unless I take advil it will usually come right back and it will last for a few hours if I don't do anything.

I am a teacher and I obviously have to be at my best everyday. The pain makes it impossible, which is why I usually give in and take meds even though I KNOW I should not be taking it everyday. If I am just at home and have nothing to do, I try to massage the area and relax until it dies down.

Does this sound like it could be Occipital Neuralgia? Does anyone have any other idea of what it COULD be? I haven't had much help from doctors, so I sort of want to be armed with information the next time I go see one. I am sick of being told it's nothing when I am spending every day in pain.

Posterior Shin Splints And Posterior Tibial Tendonitis?

Due to running excessively in the military, I believe my leg and feet injuries are related to Posterior Shin Splints and Posterior Tibial Tendonitis.

I am a female, 5'7, 160 lbs, and in the military.

I run approximately 15 to 20 miles a week.

I have high arches, and run flat footed.

I have hereditary varicose veins that have gradually become worse over time.

**5½ YEARS AGO** I dropped a three year weight class due to constant painful sores in both inner calves. The pain went away within a couple of weeks.

**2½ YEARS AGO** I received a second metatarsal hairline fracture on my left foot, due to an over excessive rucking competition (nearly 50 miles in two days, with zero training beforehand) I was volun-told to compete in a few days prior to the event. It healed within three months respectively, and the doctor had orthotics made for my feet. The orthotics worked great for walking, but instantly made my feet hurt while running. The problem continued to persist.

**2 YEARS AGO** I deployed overseas with my hairline fracture injury 99% healed. For most of the deployment, I did not experience any major problems. Towards the end, the unit conducted organized physical training, which included long runs. I started experiencing severe inflammation in my shins, inner calves, and swelling in my feet. The issue continued back home.

**1 YEAR AGO** I went to physical therapy when I came back from from deployment, and received deep tissue therapy for my shin pain. The deep tissue therapy helped my shins recover after each run, and the bumps on my shins started to disappear after each session (once a week). After my physical therapy sessions were completely over, I only had sensitive and tender shins after working out.

**½ YEAR AGO** When my unit increased the amount of running per week, I noticed the pains/sores were coming back in my inner calves. My shins remained tender, but the main focus was the pain in my inner calves. I went to the doctor for this issue, and they gave me a no running profile for a month. That was fine and dandy, until I came off profile and the situation became much worse than before. I played the “catch up” game to get back to how I used to be before I was on profile. In order to do this to my superiors standards, I had to to do this much faster and harder to achieve the results they were looking for. In doing this, the pains came back sooner, hurt more often, and did not require a hard physical workout to feel randomly throughout the day.

**PRESENT** Fast forward to present day, and now we run nearly every day of the week. Granted, most of the runs are now short runs, but now my pains are making any running absolutely miserable. I now have sharp pains starting from my inner calves, shooting up my legs, reaching the bottom of my knees. My inner calves are extremely sore and tender to the touch, even when I'm not running. I noticed just recently that I now have lumps/bumps on the bottom of both feet, in between the arch and heel (which I believe is called the Post Tibial Tendon). None of these issues are clearing up, unless I do absolutely nothing at all. But, once I start to exercise again, the pains and problems come back with full force. The bumps on my feet are not going away at all, I have had them for a few months and they continue to grow larger. So here are my questions:

1. Do you think I have Posterior Shin Splints and Posterior Tibial Tendonitis?
2. If not, what condition(s) do you think I have?
3. Do you believe these possible conditions can be fixed on my own, or should I see a doctor again?
4. I really cannot afford to stop working out, is there any low impact workouts that can keep me in shape if this turns into a medical issue?

Ovarian Cyst :: Suffered Hair Loss Due To Cyst?

I had a simple 13cm cyst removed from my broad ligament (next to ovary) at the end of June. It had been causing me issues for at least 6 months, including sharp pains, which I thought were linked to the digestive system at first. I had a laparoscopy and feel much better in myself.

The week before surgery, I began to noticeably lose hair from my head. It's now been coming out for nearly 8 weeks. Luckily I had a lot of hair to start with but I've now had to have it cut shorter as looked awful and I must have lost half my hair or more. :o(  I've had blood tests and everything seems fine, so Dr thinks it must have been the stress that the cyst was putting on my body, esp with sharp pains etc. I have found this link to PCOS but not large cysts and wondered if anyone else had suffered in the same way and if so, how long the hair loss continued?

Pregnancy :: Posterior Cervix And Tilted Uterus

Does anyone have either of these or know of someone who does and was able to go into labor naturally, were able to deliver vaginally? Or did it just end in an induction and C-section? If you did deliver vaginally were you able to get pregnant again without big complications? I have this and my doctor wants to induce because I am due tomorrow and I still haven't even softened, but I have a large chance even without inducing that I will have to have a C-section no matter. Every female on my mom's side has it and all had to have C-sections, except my mom who had my brother naturally and should not of and had to be artificially inseminated(sp) with my sister and I because she was not able to get pregnant on her own after.

Posterior Blepharitis - Bright Red Lid Margins, Bloodshot Eyes

I believe I have posterior bleph since it affects my Meibomian glands and I've had it for around 5/6 years, although I wasn't aware I had the condition until I saw a fantastic independent optician who also has it (note: don't both with any of the 'fast-food' opticians e.g. Specsavers - they haven't got a clue!).

Until recently, I never really had much of a struggle with it - it was generally more of an irritant, but recently it's become worse despite me upping the usual maintenance. My current routine involves the warming bag + cleaning with Blephaclean pads. There used to be an excellent product called Lid Care but they seem to have disappeared now unfortunately. Other than that, I take Omega-3 supps.

My symptoms lately are the usual e.g. soreness, grittiness, bright red lid margins, bloodshot eyes etc. However, recently I'm struggling a bit as I keep developing badly blocked glands that become a little inflamed and uncomfortable - is this quite common with the condition because I've never really had that? If so, does anyone have any alternative methods to counteract it?

Posterior Scleritis - Confused With Migraines Or Cluster Headaches

Around 5 months ago out of nowhere, I started having immense headaches which at first I mistakened as just migraines or cluster headaches. I'm not sure how but I managed to endure the severe pain for 8 whole days by staying in bed (This was during exam break so I had no school). I've never suffered such a gratuitous amount of pain in my life! I could barely make it to the bathroom or even sit up to eat (I was 94.5 lbs after not eating for so long!!). After those 8 days I finally accepted the fact that it was not the typical migraine and was rushed to the emergency room. After going through numerous examinations with multiple doctors and specialists, I was diagnosed with posterior scleritis. It was really puzzling to hear that I had such a rare form of scleritis and at such a peculiar age since scleritis usually occurs at ages of 40-50 years. I was then put on 80mg of prednisone which relieved the pain. It was great at first but the heavy side effects eventually caught up with me. Anyways because of my condition, I was physically unable to show up for one of my exams although I wrote all the others while in such an insane amount of pain. I tried to explain why I wasn't able to attend but ended up getting yelled at and disrespected. I was deeply hurt and frustrated that the educators at my school didn't care for the health and safety of their own students ....

post op I've found it quite painful especially the back wall repair but they said some of the pain was down to urine retention. I'm super sleepy and have no attention span what so over.

wishing everyone well who is waiting for this op, It's been so helpful to have people to speak to, it's such an lonely condition.

Nervous System :: Head Pressure/dizziness/head Fog

I've been having those 3 symptoms for about 2 months now. I'm a 22yo male, 6 feet tall, 160 lbs.

The head pressure was the first to show up. It feels like if someone is pressing their palm against the top of my head, its very light and 80% its not bad or painful, its just -there-, but sometimes the pressure rises up and it can be quite overwhelming, making me having to stop whatever I'm doing.

Painkillers used to work, now they don't anymore, although I think it's because I started to use them way too much.

Since about 2 weeks ago, I started to have dizziness and head fog. It's like if I'm "typsy" all the time.

This all started a few months after I had to quit my job since I'm preparing myself to live in another country, I'm short on cash and I have arguments about various things related to that almost daily, making me think that this might be an anxiety issue.

3 days ago I had to go to the hospital because my BP spiked up (180/104), and since then the pressure/head fog became 10x worse. I keep catching myself hyperventilating throughout the day, having cold sweats and hot flashes.

Thoughts keep racing in my head that I have a brain tumor and how that would wreck my life even if its a benign one.

Something that makes me feel better is that I'm not having any seizures, nose bleeds or actual real bad headache, its just a weird pressure, which calms me down a bit at the possibility that its a tumor.

Also, sleeping is the only thing that makes the pressure/dizziness go away, although it gets bad again throughout the day. Today I've tried to oversleep a bit to see if it was a sleep deprivation issue and it made the pressure better but the dizziness way worse.

I've already scheduled a cardiologist/neurologist, but I can only go friday so I still have some days to worry myself to death over this.
